The Daily Bugle

Senator Hines has revealed how mutants will be handled: Sentinels.

A rumor traveled the circles of the supernatural. Mutants heard a safe, underground railroad was being started, inquire at the Summit. The beyond sought the strange power said to rest at the Summit of New York City. The gossip flitted amongst the rest: valuable information was to come to light when dawn broke over the Summit.

Fast Food [Training] Empty
PostSubject: Fast Food [Training]   Fast Food [Training] EmptyThu May 31, 2012 12:39 pm

"How bout Chinese?..Or maybe French?..Spanish?" An orange blur trapped through the streets of New York, heading towards the exit out of the city. It dipped through cards and moved pass them as though they were standing still. The sheer difference in speed between the blur and the many cars was great enough to create such an illusion. Recently Tara's speed limit was growing more and more by the day, and with greater speed and control over her abilities came new potential and how to use them. How she tested her speed was strange to say the least. She had a..'fast food'..training method. She would order a meal in another state, and try to run there before the people could even finish creating her meal. It didn't only test her endurance and speed, but also gave her a meal for the night and allowed her to see the world even more than before. It only took a matter of seconds to leave New York and hit the interstate to head towards the south. This time around she had ordered from three separate locations just to test herself even more. And with her high metabolism from burning so many carbs a day, she was sure she would eat it all in a flash. Following the roads, she made the decision to head straight for Texas first. The journey would be long if she took the back roads, so instead she stuck to the main ones and ran by the various vehicles in a zig zag formation. With the sun leading the way, the young woman would remove her backpack in mid run and take a peek inside. This was pretty dangerous, even for someone like her. Not only dangerous, but careless. The road took a curve, and she continued running forward, heading straight towards a construction zone right off an exit. Moving like a blur, she passed by the workers while leaving strong gusts in her wake. It blew off construction hats and even knocked some of them off their feet. There was a pile of lumber ahead, and as Tara finally looked up from her bag, she saw it infront of her at just a second away. On instinct she flinched to cover herself, and burst through the pile like it was nothing. Some of the wood burst into splinters while others just snapped and went flying to the side. None of the debris landed on her person, and for once, she looked at herself as she ran. Her current speed was generating some type of aura that the small splinters couldn't pierce. They were pushed aside, almost like they weren't there at all. As she continued running, she'd look down at her body, then to her arms, and then back to her body again. Laughing out loud into the sky, she'd let a large smile spread across her face. "I'm alive! I'm alive! Oh yeaaah!" With leaning forward, she'd pick up the speed and burst off to go faster than four hundred miles per hour, moving as a blur and trucking through the construction yard in under a second. With the continued growth of her abilities, Tara could only imagine that she'd become much more faster in the future. It would probably be smart to get some new gear that could handle such speeds. Her current outfit would probably tear off if things got too bad. Although, the golden aura seemed to be protecting her from the friction that came with such speeds. She never truly thought her abilities would jump to such limits in such a short amount of time. She had her suspicions about that actually. With her body in overdrive, it was only natural if her abilities went into overdrive on their growth, right? It would only make sense in the long run.

Running off the main road, Tara would begin to track through the open fields that laid ahead of her. Up ahead seemed to be a rather large cliff, and the large dust trail she was leaving behind emphasized just how fast she was really moving. Leaping off the edge, she shoot in the air like a bullet before flipping back down to the soft grass below, and heading into the next city at full speed. Once hitting the city limits, Tara would zip by a TV store that had a series of different TVs broadcasting news reports for the people on the sidewalk to read. In a blur, she'd zoom by and cause various people to almost lose their footing. However, she'd suddenly come back to stop infront of the display and watch what was going on. Taking an ice cream cone from a kid standing next by her at lightning speeds, the boy would look around for the culprit and she'd hide it behind her back and point further down the sidewalk. As the kid turned around, she would shove the entire cone and her mouth and swallow it. The boy turned back to look at her as she held her head between her palms and suffered from the brain freeze that came after it. Wincing her eyes, she would watch the news report of some kind of attack happening back in New York. Apparently animals were involved in the madness of some sort..it even partook in a Zoo. It looked like so much fun! What a drag! Stomping her feet like a child, Tara would cross her arms and look back at the road. "For someone so fast, I sure am slow.." The hooded girl would shrug her shoulders before leaning forward and shooting off into a sprint. She was sure Nameless would handle any problems in New York City. He was stronger than her, after all. And a way better hero aswell. He displayed more self control than any other mutant she had met so far. His abilities even seemed to be abit stronger than the others she had met aswell. Perhaps he had another ability that allowed him to use his current abilities to an advanced level. Maybe she was just over thinking things like usual. If she was right though, he probably already created multiple ways to deal with her. Super speedsters were more for support if anything else, anyway. Sure they ran fast and could probably knock your lights out before you saw it coming, but one mess up and they were screwed severely. Imagine fighting in the dark with the ability? Instant handicap in the end. One false move and you could go tripping into death and rape. No one liked death and rape. Unless you were some weirdo freak, or something.

After a few more minutes of running, Tara would hear cries of help coming from a block not to far away. If she was to play the hero game, she would need to start getting a positive reputation to over weigh her thieving one. Though, only a few people knew she was even a thief. No one saw her when she was doing her thing. When she finally arrived to the location, she'd slide to a stop next by a sink hole before looking towards a group of construction workers surrounding the hole. Running up behind them, she'd tap the closest on the back and then cross her arms over her chest. "So what happened here? Something wrong? I heard a cry for help or something." Tara began to tap her foot impatiently as the men looked at each other and laughed at her presence before turning back to whatever they were doing. In a feint echo, she heard 'help' once again. It was coming from the manhole the workers were surrounding and sounded like a kid. Pressing her way by them, she'd look down the dark hole and give a slight frown. "Why didn't you losers call the cops? That kid could be hurt down there! Stop trying to cover your own asses!" The 'hero' would look at them with a scowl before suddenly spinning at a high rate of speed, turning her body into a human drill, before drilling into the ground and burrowing towards where she heard the source of the voice. Piercing the earth, she would land in an underground tunnel that looked like some kind of sewer tunnel. Placing her hands up to her mouth to throw her voice, Tara would take a deep breath before yelling out. "HELLO?! WHERE ARE YOU?! ARE YOU OKAY?" She continued to yell out and only got her echo in response. Through the darkness, however; she could hear the small groans of a child. Rushing over, but going slow enough not to trip in the dark, she'd run through the underground tunnel heading straight for the origin of the groans. After a few seconds, Tara would see the light coming from the sink hole above, showing that she was directly below the men she had encountered earlier. This also meant the victim, or whatever you called the person you were saving, was nearby aswell. Looking around, what do you know it, there was a young boy covered by light rocks and debris. Tara would run to his side and pat him down, knocking the debris and dirt off of him. "You okay, kid?" Using her common sense, the strongest super power known to man, Tara deducted that the boy had fallen in the sinkhole and ended up right here. This was probably the construction men's faults, seeing how it should have been boarded or protected from children ending up in such situations. The girl would grab the young boy's body and look up towards the light. Sadly, she couldn't exactly fly. Her best bet was running through the underground tunnels to find an exit and that was exactly what she would do. Running down the main line, she'd break off and run through each tunnel that branched from the man. "Nope." She ran through another series of tunnels. "Nope." She turned back to the main tunnel to cross the way into another series of tunnels. "Nope." No matter where she ran, she said the same thing. "Nope." This was one of those moments where she wished she could fly. Running back to the sink hole, Tara would look up towards the light with a slight frown. Then..it snapped! She knew what she had to do. Letting a smile spread across her face, she'd jump in the air and begin to spin her legs at a high rate of speed. The rate of speed caused her body to lift off the ground and shoot up towards the sink hole, using gusts of winds as a medium. Making her exit from the underground tunnel, Tara would flip in the air and land in a kneeling position, holding the child in her arms. The construction workers looked towards her, and she only returned their gaze with a permanent scowl. "Are you that scared of a lawsuit that you would let this boy die down there alone? What kind of man would take such actions? You sicken me!" She spoke with a condescending tone before lifting herself and disappearing in a blur, heading straight for the hospital. The men only looked on as she left their line of vision. Would they regret what they had done? She didn't particularly know, but this act of heroism sure was gonna make her late to picking up her food. Making it to the hospital, she'd slow her running to a normal jog and run through the front doors. "This kid needs help. Can anyone assist me?" Tara called out to the people within the lobby and immediately a nurse ran her way to take the child. Turning back to Tara, the nurse would ask who she was. Being in disguise, Tara knew using her real name wouldn't be the smartest thing to do. Shifting her gaze beneath her shades, she'd give the answer. "My name is Chronas." How did she make the name? Time seemed to be so slow to her. That's where the Chrono came from. But that seemed like such a guyish name didn't it? So why not add Nas to the end of it? That made it sound alot better anyway! "..Yeah, Chronas is my name!"
