The Daily Bugle

Senator Hines has revealed how mutants will be handled: Sentinels.

A rumor traveled the circles of the supernatural. Mutants heard a safe, underground railroad was being started, inquire at the Summit. The beyond sought the strange power said to rest at the Summit of New York City. The gossip flitted amongst the rest: valuable information was to come to light when dawn broke over the Summit.

Flash back - New York

The large park was the only place he felt close to father. These humans seem to ignore the fact that beauty was all around in nature, and was the closest connect you could get to father. Gabriel sat on a large boulder in central park, quite a long ways away from where any human would venture due to the fact that it was more prone to be mugged in these secluded areas. A soft gentle cool breeze rolled over Gabe’s face as he sat on the boulder with his eyes closed. His hair blew with the gentle breeze and lapped over his solemn face, caressing it as his eyes closed. Gabriel could feel the power that his father had put in him, the light, but he felt something else also. It was dark, this other thing. He didn’t understand why father would allow darkness into him, maybe it was so he could understand more of how it was to be like these others father had created. They all had a choice to embrace both the light and the dark, now Gabe had that choice also. He couldn’t totally embrace this darkness in him, but instead it mixed with the light and made something new, something more powerful than either one. Gabriel called it twilight, it seemed to hold properties that were almost beyond understanding. He reached into himself through meditating and sought to bring it out more, this twilight was strange to him. Gabe had always only known of light and darkness, no middle ground, this whole thing was strange to him. He tapped into this now revealed reservoir of new found power and let it flow through him. It felt very strange, not warm like the light was, but not as cold as the darkness in him either. No, this was like a comfortable sunrise or sunset, a tranquil easiness that felt as though you were expecting something calmly. It ebbed in him and filled him with more calm than anything he had ever felt before. Gabe opened his eyes and looked at his hand, strange, it seemed to a dull purple grey color and yet he wasn’t shocked, everything seemed to only be accepted as he channeled this new found resource of calming energy.

He receded the channeling of the twilight and found that he couldn’t shake the calm feeling he still had, as though everything was right in the world, even though he knew it wasn’t. These humans and people who had more power than humans were destroying their selves, making life harder on everyone they came into contact with. How was Gabe, one angel, going to stop that and help guide these beings to the right path? They seemed to revel in that hurt of others, laugh at their pain and take what they want even at some else’s cost. Why couldn’t they be happy with what father had set in place for them? Why couldn’t they help one another instead of making life miserable for all? Gabe out aside these Ideas for now, He had to focus on become stronger to be able to defend those in need and help guide those who are lost to a path of better life. Gabe looked down and saw a squirrel sitting by him, it looked up at him quizzically and tilted its head. Gabe gave it a soft smile and reached a finger down to gently rub its head with an out stretched index finger. The little mammal brushed against it like a pleased cat and then scurried away in short little hops, its tail bobbing up and down with its movements as it did so. Gabe’s smiled died a bit into a sea of calm again and he looked up at the sky, the sun was at its peak and warm on his face. Gabe stood up and teleported from the top of the boulder to the ground and put his hand in his pockets as he started to walk. He made his way back to a walking path and kept his head down for the most part as he casually walked by people with the same clam face he had put on before, tranquil twilight.

Gabe walked through the park, making his way quietly and nodding to people who acknowledged him with polite nods and smiles, he ended up finding himself back in a secluded heavily wooded area of the park again. It was pretty silent for being in the middle of the city that was all hustle and bustle. It was time to learn how to fly again. Gabe hadn’t flown since his decent to earth, he didn’t feel a need to do it but missed the feeling of it. Being grounded was killing him, the feeling of soaring was amazing and somewhat unappreciated as a celestial being who was used to doing it as much as anything on this earth was use to breathing. He had never gave the ability of flight a second thought throughout much of his existence as it was just second nature to him. Does a bird truly love its gift of flight? Gabe suspected it didn’t as it never knew what it was like to not be able to once it flew from its nest. He now understood human’s want to be able to do it. He had read about their ambition of flight and the longing to feel free to travel vast stretches of land, soaring across the sky in defiance against their bonds to the earth and its constant pull to keep them from being airborne. In a blink of an eye his suit formed around him, his angelic wings spread wide and stretched reaching as far as they could in the small clearing Gabe had now reached. Stretching them forward he analyzed them and touched them to feel how they were in this plain of existence. They were soft but he knew that the feeling of touch was misleading. He knew that that could withstand more damage than regular wings, for these were made of twilight composed flesh like substance. He ran his hands through the soft feathers and loved the gift given to him by father. stretching his body twisting from one side the other he would extend out one wing and contract the other and switch as he stretched to the other side. Bending his legs slightly, and then he straightened them as he pumped his wings he lifted off the ground a few feet to test out the gravity which the earth exerted to keep him earth bound. To his surprise he actually lifted a few feet of the ground from the single thrust of his heavenly wings. It wasn’t as easy as it was where he was from, but it would seem like it would be almost effortless to simply hover off the ground with a constant series of flaps. He tested this and found it to be true as he stayed afloat, bobbing a bit with the constant gentle beat of the wings. Pleased with knowing he could do this he felt it was time to takes things a bit further. Gabriel pushed hard with both wings and propelled himself upward, his face facing skyward as he did so. He continued this until the trees below him seemed to be like but grass below him.

This was amazing, it felt good to be airborne again, he receded the protective covering from his face and let the feeling of the wind rush past his face as he smiled. The feeling of flight was different here, he could feel a strange and exciting new feeling in the pit of his stomach as he defied the chains of gravity. The sun bathed his face as he soared though the city, he made sure to fly high enough to make it seem like he could be mistaken for a bird if sighted from the ground, he didn’t want to draw too much attention from anyone. Gabe soared through the sky, twisting and doing barrel rolls as he played with his old friend of flight. It was amazing to be able to see the city from this height, it all looked like a big jigsaw puzzle made of buildings put together by blocks. These humans had such capacity to create such marvels of the things within the earth. They had evolved an became so resourceful over the centuries. Gabe circled around and headed back to the park from which he came. As he approached the park he found the spat from which he had launched and aimed for it in a sort of dive bomb, teleporting in flashes of light to make the decent faster. As he reached the ground he flapped downward to slow the decent and land softly on the ground.

As Gabriel landed he heard the sound of a woman screaming, shouting out for someone to help. He didn’t hesitate, reliving his suit and wings to nothingness as he ran towards the sound of distress. He ran through the wooded area nimbly dodging trees and jumping over outcropped rocks as he made his way to help the woman in whatever was causing her harm. Gabe came upon a bridge with a walkway that cut underneath it perpendicularly. “SOMEONE HELP!” the voice of the woman resounded through the tunnel and the distress could be heard in her voice. Gabe rushed into the tunnel and found two men tugging at the woman, stripping her of her purse and her top. One of the men saw him coming and started making his way towards Gabe, now drawing a knife wand started to smile. “Hey bub, you sure you plan on bein’ a hero today? Ya know, most heroes don’t live too long, heh heh heh.” The man said as he stopped a few meters away from Gabe. This man seemed to be a bit shorter than the other that was now holding the woman against the wall of the tunnel. Gabe’s face was not the usual one that he wore, no, this face was full of hate and wrath. The sharp look at the smaller of the two men that stood before made the shorter man flinch a bit. Never before had this man felt such an imposing presents of anger an wrath. Gabe walked forward and the man second guessed his own actions, then stepped forward to meet Gabe with a forward thrust of his knife. The man-angel partly used his suit, creating a small chain that grabbed the man by the thrusting arm and lifted him up. The short man was highly surprised at the manifestation of the chain out of nowhere, but still lashed out with a punch to Gabe’s face which landed, not phasing the angel at all. Gabe’s anger was now paramount as he whipped the chain to his left and sent the man slamming into the wall and knocking him unconscious. The larger man seeing this now left the woman who fell to the ground with shock and fatigued from fighting against the man. The bigger and still conscious man pulled out a gun and pointed it at Gabe. “Ok, freak, let’s do this.” The man said calmly. Gabe took a step closer, but as he did the man took the aim off of the angel and pointed it at the woman with a grin on his face. “Yeah, I know your type man. You don’t care about getting shot, or breaking any bones, hell, maybe not even death. Your kind will do anything as long as you save who you are aiming to save. Tell ya what, you wait there while I have my fun, you could also just walk away. Forget you saw anything and everyone lives.” Gabe’s anger flared, his eyes now glowing bright with light and lighting up the area around his face, calm yet burning with inner fury that was near unmatchable by any other living being. Two flashes of light blasted the area to near daylight heights as Gabr teleported and knocked the man back away from the woman and into the wall. The large man stumbled into the wall and lost his balance, sprawling onto the ground. Gabe lifted a hand and aimed it at the assailant, It glowed bright with light and then blasted a beam of pure light at the man. The energy of the light particles were so concentrated that when it met with the man’s hand, it disintegrated it into ashes. The intense heat of it cauterized the wound keeping it from him bleeding out. “You feeble man, you would you do such things to your sister. Is this what you think you were put here for? Run now, rethink your life. If I ever find you again hope that is because you have changed your ways, for wrath will not spare you a second time.” The large man passed out and Gabe tended to the woman, helping her and taking her back to her home.

“This is my place.” The woman said as they approached a building that had rows of stoops and doors that birthed them. Gabe put his hands in his pocket and gave the woman a soft awkward smile. The woman crossed her right arm over her body and grabbed her arm at the elbow and held it against herself. She looked up a Gabe as she was a quite short compared to him. “You can come in if you want, I’m sure you hungry. If not that’s fine too. I just can’t thank you enough for what you did back there. “Gabe stayed silent for a few seconds until he built up the courage to speak. Funny, how he could face men willing to kill but had trouble talking to a woman. Maybe it was the body of flesh and blood with all the hormones raging, or it was just because he had never been in a situation where he would have to deal with a woman to begin with. “Uh, yeah, sure. I am quite a bit hungry.” He said in a quiet voice as he looked at the woman. She was quite beautiful now that he really examined her. Was this what attraction felt like, this warm somewhat fuzzy feeling building in his stomach? The woman smiled. “Well come on up then.” She said as she fumbled with the keys and then opened the door. “ I live on the second floor, the stairs bug me sometimes when I bring up groceries. So, what’s your name, I’m Alice by the way.” Gabe had a choice now, he could tell her his real name, or make one up right now. This moment would somewhat define how he would be known, he decided to use his real name, why lie? “My name is Gabriel, I guess you could call me gab though.” He said softly. They reached the woman’s door again and she repeated her key fumbling until she found the right one and opened up the door. Her apartment was nice, it didn’t look like she was rich, but Gabe thought of it as a palace. It was the first time he had step foot in a person’s home. She motioned towards the couch and said “You can go ahead and take a seat Gabe, I’ll get start getting something to eat ready. Gabe walked through the room until he reached the couch and sat down. It was soft and comfortable; unlike the rocks and ground he had made his home for the past few weeks on this planet. Gabe heard the woman groan a bit and got up to go check on her. She seemed to be in the bathroom with the door open and her shirt off, a large bruise was covering most of her side. Gabe walked in and said “If you wish, I can help you with that wound.” The woman turned quickly, startled by the somewhat sudden appearance of the man and covered up her chest. She blushed and was a bit frozen. She didn’t know the man and didn’t want to become a victim twice in one day, then again he DID save her. “Uh, sure, I guess.” She tilted her body until the wounded side was easy for him to access. Gabe felt a strange sensation flow over his body like a warm blanket and was startled by the now growing attraction he had to the woman. He set this feeling aside and put his hand on the Alice’s bruise. She was soft and warm, he put that thought aside too and focused on the power he stored within, channeling the Twilight and focusing it on her wound. The bruise faded as the warm dull purple grey aura glowed around his hand. The Alice’s eyes widened as she felt the pain subside. “There you go, nice as new.” Alice was stunned “Uh, um, thank you.” She said.

They ate and Gabe ended up telling her what he was and that all of this was new to him. He even displayed his wings to prove it. She was amazed, asking a million questions until he had no more answers. Gabe left the woman’s apartment and headed back to his boulder in the park, thinking of the what had happened that day and how he could do more with himself.

Maul stood in the park his body focused and ready for the training he was about to do, his eyes closed and body focused he raised his fist filling the strength in his muscles. The strength that was forced on a young man simply wishing to be the best fighter in the world. His mind slipped back to those days when he was only 5'10 and wirey. His skills the only thing he relied on to get through a fight and the training at the Golden Temple where he learned the seven arts of death. That ride to the air port hijacked and drugged. Waking up in that underground facility with the earth overhead and the eyes of a mad doctor in front of him. Maul came back to this point and opened his eyes. His massive 7'2 body bulging with powerful muscle was eager to begin the excersise. He had heard of a monk capable of causing the earth to tremble with a strike, not from strength but from force of will. Maul himself now wanted to see if he could do the same. His hand open he focused on the world around him feeling his Chi deep in his chest. That personal energy that released his inner capabilites. A roar erupted from the throat of the giant as he slammed his hand down with a massive . "HEEEYAAAAH." His open palm smashed into the ground and the earth didn't just tremble but shook the area around him. He watched the ground roll, benches fell over. Maul chuckled as he closed his gigantic fist. "This is the power I utilize, not just strength but my will."

Maul stepped away from the cracked ground and looked around, people had vacated the park thinking a earthquake was on the way. Yawning the giant sat on the ground in a meditative sitting positon also known as Indian style. His mind opened and his body relaxed as he guided himself through the mysterious of his power. There was more than just strength but he hadn't touched it yet, a driving beast with unstoppable rage but something else. A feeling of immunity to opponents but it had to be trained out, unlocked and set free. The rage would have to wait for Maul was not a angry person. He was a Monk travelling the world to learn more of himself. And he was here now...or was it again? A feeling od deja vu fell over the monk and his eyes opened scanning for something he thought he could remember. Standing up he walked around the park trying to gouge out just what was making him feel the way he was feeling. Something in the air or a mix of being here and yet past here. Maul turned his head scanning the park, fist balled he readied himself. It wasn't violent whatever he was remembering or feeling but there was somethng about this place that told him he had done this already.

Maul walked thrugh the park his body tense and ready for whatever was around the corner. His body stance was a style desgned for surprises and quick reaction, his whole body drawn like a spring. Large boots pressed on the ground and pushed off silently on both. For a giant Maul could move pretty quietly if he needed to. The hulking mass couldn't figure out if he was feeling something was about to happen or if something already did happen. He opened his mind letting memories fall into place as he tried to work his way through to the core of the problem. He shook his head as he felt a block on the front of a memory he should remember but couldn't. Now he was getting annoyed. Opening his hands he stepped forward keeping his body ready for reaction. "Who is there, I know someone is out there step forward." His voice echoed through the park as he called out who was there. Was it a feeling of caution or just being paranoid? Over training could make a person see enemies around every corner if that person didn't learn to shut it off. However though he felt like he was being silly he couldn't get over the fact that something was about to happen. He couldn't tell if it was good, evil, or simply was but whatever it was it was going to impact him personally.

Gabe sat on the boulder pondering what he should try out next. The encounter with the woman from earlier was fogging his mind. Memories of the woman with her shirt off, and the exposed skin of her side set him on pins and needles. He had never felt attraction before ad the whole idea of it still startled him. His body reacted in very STRANGE ways he had never anticipated. He knew the general idea of the feelings humans had, but never experienced them himself first hand. He understood now why a lot of them had trouble when it came to controlling these urges. For him, it was easy, but he still couldn’t understand how men could try to defile another with only these urges in mind. To him, taking something you want from someone by deadly force was one of the things that he hated about humans. Yes, he actually hated something. So this was hate, the thing that he sought to conquer and lead these humans and other beings away from. He guessed he had to feel it to understand how to beat it.

He put these ideas aside now and thought about his powers. His knew he was only hitting the absolute tip of the iceberg of his powers. He got up and hopped off of his little earthen throne and turned around to face it. By the looks of the thing it had to be at least 700 pounds, maybe less. He cracked his fingers and griped it as best he could. Digging in deep he pulled upwards on it and to his surprise, it didn’t budge. He stepped back and scratched his head a bit in confusion. In his other form with father around his strength was near limitless. This body he was in was troublesome, weak, and soft. It seemed he had to find a way to make himself stronger by his own means now. Channeling twilight through his body he began to fell lighter, his legs seemed to stress much less from his own weight and he could feel the calm strong power ebbing through his body and making him strain less from the ever present tug of the earth. He looked down and observed his body, it seemed to be a bit more tone than before and with more mass. He smiled a bit, proud of his small mastery over the deep sea of power he knew he could now tap into as long as he had the mind to try and tap into it.

Gabriel gripped the boulder again, this time he could feel his fingers dig into it a bit giving him a better grip on the solid piece of earth. Gabe pushed up with his legs and this time he was able to lift the rock almost effortlessly. He lifted the boulder up over his head and slammed it down on the ground, the impact made the ground vibrate like crazy and he also heard a huge cracking. Had he really become so strong that by just slamming the boulder on the ground would be earth shattering? It surprised him that this was a possibility. He reviewed the events in his head again and noticed that the sound seemed to be further away, not from where he was. What could have made it? He couldn’t have been caused that sound from afar at all.

Puzzled he left the boulder where it was, subsided his twilight, and began to walk in the direction he thought the other sound had come from. He made his way through the park a bit until he started to feel a strange strong presence trying to conceal itself, but it also had a presents of anticipation. Gabe heard a loud deep booming voice yell out “"Who is there, I know someone is out there step forward." Gabe made his way towards the voice and found himself in front of a huge man dressed in a white Gi with rippling muscles. Gabe seemed to be a small child compared to the man, his slender frame didn’t help any. “Hello, I’m not sure who you’re talking to but I think I’m the only one around for a while. My name is Gabriel and I hope I am not disturbing you at all, I mean no harm I assure you sir.” Gabe said in his soft gentle voice.

Maul moved through the forest before the being stepped out to face him, for a moment hisinstinct to strike out rushed to his brain and only cntrol kept the man in front of him from becoming a pinball. Maul stood up and bowed at the waist his eyes on the new person. "I apologze for disturbing you, I fealt a presence or maybe a memory of a presence. I am Jason and I mean you no harm either." Jason turned his head looking around the park the experience of deja vu burning into his mind once more. "Did you ever feel like you had done something already yet you can't remember if it happened or not?" Maul walked around checking the trees than stopped. His hands slid on the side of the giant oak, pressing his head against it he could feel the life force flowing through the great king. Stepping away he went to say something else but stopped, he had seen this moment before. A man standing in front of him, a great oak to the back. The sky overhead with one cloud.

Maul stood still as a statue trying to understand the moment that was rushing towards him. "I stood here....someone maybe you there. I....I'm suppose to say no...do something." The giant stared ahead at the man than breathed in deep feeling the power in his lungs. Spinning around he letloose a power he never had unleashed before. a Sonic scream ripped from his jaws tearing into the tree and splitting bark from the great oak. The roar sounded like that of the lion and bear combined with a ferocias concentration. The muscles around Mauls throat bulged out and his entire body seemed to grow thicker in muscle. Breathing in he stepped forward and released another one with his full strength behind it. The close range to the tree shattered the bark cutting through the ancient wood. As the tree fell towards him Maul opened his hands and caught the giant oak holding it over his head. With a push of his arms he sent the great oak to the ground than began to walk up and down the side of the tree. "You will be good tinder for fire wood tonight old King. The rot at your core was killing you slowly, now you die as a King deserves by a worthy foe." Maul bowed to the Oak and sat down on it running a hand carefully up and down the side. "I apologize for my behavior....sometimes inspiration strikes and you must go with it. For the river of knolwedge is always moving and you must follow the current or risk learning nothing." Maul moved his fingers down into the bark like it was wet clay, his giant hands pulling up entire sections and ripping out the rot. "A tree like this has lived for decades, it's life a blessing. But the enviroment around it polluted, the air and rain deadly to it's core. It was dying a slow death. Sometimes it is best to end the suffering though some would call it evil...is it evil to help someone or something end the pain? I do not think so." Jason dropped to his knees and slid his hand down the center, wood snapped away as if his hand was a chainsaw. "Nature is this planets greatest gift, not mankind. We are a plague on this world and though some strive to make it better we do more harm than good."

Maul stood up walking to the branches and like a crafter began to move the branches with skill and precision. "One trained in the ways of life and death, you learn to treasure that which thrives. You feel the sorrow it feels when the ones who were designed to take care of it neglect it and poison it with their own greed and self advrice. Than you wonder why this monolith continued in the world when there was so much human nature around. We kill them for things we do not even need, this great king will go to orphanages around the city in need of fire wood, chairs, and tables. It gave us breath in life and will give us warmth and life in death. It stood on the pedastools of it's kingdom before falling to the corruption and destruction of humans." Maul snapped off a branch as long as a bat and smiled warmly. "This here is perfectly solid, a child could use it to hit a ball. A joy for a child from the great monarch." Laying the thick branch aside he continued through it ignoring the poking and jabbing.

The man seemed mild mannered for such a large and imposing force. Gabe did nothing but stand there and listen as the man began to talk of deja vue and press his head up against the tree. The man backed off of the tree and let out a thunderous roar in a voice fitting of a mixture of some of the fiercest animals father had crated. For some reason, Gabe wasn’t startled in the least. The voice of farther could be measured at an infinitely louder level when just whispering. Still, Gabe couldn’t help but be a little bit surprised that this man could call upon such power. The man called Maul released another roar at the tree, splintering and causing it to fall. On top of the man, Gabe braced for a second ready to push the man out of the way or at least try to rip the tree to shreds with his twilight constructs, but the sight of the man putting his hand up to brace the falling behemoth of an oak, then he threw it to the ground, bowing and paying his respects to it. Gabe was taken a gust by the brute’s behavior. This hulk of a man who held such strength and power, kept the thinking that father had always sought out for them to have in the first place. Gabriel watched as the man began to slide his hands along the three and form it like some soft clay or sorts, manipulating its shape like it was of no great feat. As Maul did this he spoke of his ideals, of if how something is suffering you end that suffering. He spoke of how cruel it was to let something suffer and that it was evil to let it do so, no ending it quickly. For some reason this idea somewhat fit in with the mission Gabe was sent here to carry out. Maul continued talking of how the humans have continually poisoned and fill the Earth with such woe and agony. This man knew, he knew how he felt. They shared the same thoughts on humanity almost to a tee. Gabe could feel the light in him arise, he could feel hope again come in the form of this giant man who held such power, yet didn’t use it to hurt others to gain. He used his power to help the world around him, taking destruction and turning it into a new creation that helps all.

Gabe nodded, his soft voice slipping from his mouth with a warm acknowledgement of the man’s wisdom “Yes, you seem to know a lot that most human’s take for granted. You are noble sir, and for that I shall show myself to you, as you have shown yourself to me.” Gabe slowly let his suit slither over his skin, covering every inch of his body with the protective living exoskeleton, causing him to grow to just under a foot shorter than the man. His wings spread out wide from the small of his back and reached out over six feet on each side. “I am Gabriel, Arch Angel of the father and creator of your world, I hope that this does not startle you, but I see you are a man that seems not easily startled.” Gabe said in a voice that was neither man nor woman, human nor beast, it was a voice of the realm which being of his realm spoken in, an ethereal soothing yet powerful voice. Gabe withdrew the part of the suit that had covered his head and let his soft glowing white hair flow in the gentle breeze of the night, a soft smile on his ever tranquil face. He reached over and began to help the man with the task of carving beauty out of the wood. Twilight now ebbing through him as he let if flow, further increasing his strength to a point higher than the first time he had done so. His protected fingers now gliding through the tree easier than Mauls. Gabe held up a small piece of wood and carved it into that of a yin-yang that was big enough to fit the man normally. Holding it up to the man he showed a gesture of offering. “ We all have both light in shadow in us all. Even us Angels.”

Training in Central Park. [NK, Training open to anyone] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Training in Central Park. [NK, Training open to anyone]   Training in Central Park. [NK, Training open to anyone] EmptyFri Jul 20, 2012 8:44 pm

NY Park. The only one place where Amsel didn't really like to hang out a lot. An empty land, filled with useless trees, and to the brim with muggers, robbers, rapists, the like. Basically, weak shit. She sighed, the breath fogging up her visor. Muttering, she lifted her visor and wiped the reinforced one-way mirror with her glove. She slid the visor down again, and turned on the bench to check if anyone had saw the face inside the darkness that was her helmet. With her paranoia satisfied, Amsel folded her arms over her chest and leaned back on the bench. The doctor had prescribed sitting around in places like this to calm her down. Her blood pressure was much to high for someone as young as her, caused mostly by her petty reasons to get angry at. The Dullahan proceeded to try and wreck his office before ten security were called in and had to incapacitate her with actual bullet rounds. That kind of hurt. Five to the abdominal area, six to the legs, one on her left arm, two more on her right. She punched the living hell out of all ten of them, before stumbling out of the office and onto her bike.

That was about a day ago. The bullet wounds had healed, and her muscles didn't let the projectiles pass through bone. Amsel had crawled back home, slumped on the sofa, and proceeded to pluck out all the bullets herself with a pair of tweezers. When the tweezers began to slip, Amsel instead, dug into the wounds with her fingers and removed the bullets, and fell asleep, possibly from all that pain. Of course it was painful. Unprofessional, crude, and plain messy. The carpet wasn't going to be washed of all stains the first time around. She awoke much later, and, still dotted with holes, switched to more casual clothes, removed the helmet and got on her bike and went straight for the hospital. When she finally got there, face paler than usual, the nurses were horrified by how she managed to stay alive for that long and called for immediate attention. Honestly? She didn't know either, and she couldn't be bothered. There were fucking holes all over her abdomen and they should be fixing it right away, stupid doctors. She was discharged after two hours of surgery, where the wounds were sealed up. In a foul mood, she went home, suited up as Dullahan and marched towards the park. Damn shrink, getting her to go to the park after his goons filled her with almost lethal lead.

It hurt. But it felt good. Pain was a reassurance that she was still alive. Still living. In fact, she should be worried if she didn't feel the pain at all. She liked the pain. She loved it. She wanted more. Maybe she should pay another visit to that shrink. Hope he had gotten better security than before. How about 20 of them? Preferably armed with automatics now. Loaded with either full metal jackets or hollow points. The Dullahan grinned, imagining how hard it would be to extract the hollow point after it had shredded her skin, or how deep the FMJ would go. She stopped, her face falling. She clutched her helmet and shook her head. Why the hell was she thinking about these kinds of things? Maybe she was going mad. Maybe she was turning into some freaky masochist. She was halfway there, anyway, seeing how she liked the challenge of a tougher opponent. A Blood Knight. That's what they called it. One who fights for the pleasure of pain and the want of beating skulls in.

She was suddenly aware of the sound of a overturned bench beside hers, and the vague sound of a tree falling down somewhere. The gears in her head whirred for a moment, before they clicked together. A super was around here. Doesn't seem to be a weak one either. She cracked her knuckles. No Entry and Yamaha were in the seat compartment of Matilda, which was parked just outside. Too far away. By the time Amsel retrieved her tools, the target would be gone. Standing up from her seat, she strode towards the general direction of where the tree fell, and the sight which greeted her made her...fascinated.

A hulking mass of a man and the one she deemed as an angel for the presence of his wings, which he had just spread awide grandly. She wasn't surprised by the fact he had wings. Perfectly normal in an absolutely normal world like hers. Both towered over her small physique, even from that distance. An oak tree lay by the side. But hark. What were they speaking of? Amsel approached them slowly as their voices became clearer with each step. She hadn't caught what the tall hulk of a man had said, but the angel now spoke: "We all have both light and shadow in us all."
Amsel frowned at his words, and stopped quite a ways from the duo. But isn't it the light that causes the shadow? The brighter the light, the darker the shadow? Therefore, in similar light, pun unintended, it is the good that causes the evil. How perverse. She sat on the grass and watched the two, waiting for a moment she could approach either of them for a punch fest. Not that she'd survive more than two of the hulking man's. Or the angel's for that matter.

Maul looked as the man began to assist him with the work, a smile on his features. Moving around he brought his palm down slamming it into the tree causing it to shudder than split down the center. As the man dropped his clothes and his appearance changed Maul just continued to watch. "I aplogize for my reluctance to believe you. I have met all sorts of people in this world with powers and wings and powers over something doesn't make you a angel. I do not follow your religion that you come from and far be it from me to call you a liar, but I can not be convienced on this. I'm sorry." With that done the giant turned back to his work. "But you don't need the entire world to believe you, you don't seem the kind. if you yourself believe yourself Gabriel the arch angel. He who is the wielder of the flaming sword, the General of the armies of heaven and one of the seven...than you are for you believe it." Maul smiled pulling out a large bit of wood and molding it into a cross. "Your faith is not built on belief of others but on yourself...only you can tell yourself you are not who you appear to be, no one else has the right." He nodded and rammed his body into the side of the great oak three, four times in a row. "For to seek the acceptance of others is to lose the true path of the light."

Jason stood up wiping off the blood on his chest and already feeling the strength returning. "but you do have beautiful wings." He smiled and sat down on the tree. "Please sit, let the world speak to you in it's own way. Humans a person can lie to. But animals and earth knows a liar when they hear one. Let nature show you fr what you are not for what you say." Maul closed his eyes feeling the world around him.

Gabe smiled under his suit of twilight armor. It receded as listened to the man say that he didn’t really believe Gabriel to be one of the Arch Angles. It was to be expected at some point in time and he didn’t bluster over it. Maul had was correct in telling Gabe that he didn’t have to try to convince anyone, he was what he was and didn’t need to try to convince anyone. Gabe walked up to the man and put a hand on his chest where the wound was created, he knew that the man was tough, but it was pure courtesy that Gabe was doing what he was about to do, not out of worry for the hulking man. Gabe let the Twilight flow through him and focused it into the hand on the man’s wound. The wound closed pretty fast since it was not that serious, the flesh stitched itself and the blood stopped any sign of continuing to flow. He took a seat across from the monk like man and closed his eyes. His mind shifted and flowed within itself as he tapped into the part of him that was still in tune with father’s creations. An aura of soft light illuminated around him and animals from all around began to come out of holes and homes made to keep the outside world at bay. They gathered around him, some cuddling in his lap. A hawk came and rested on his right shoulder, and a dove on his left. Gabe didn’t notice most of this as he delved deeper into himself. The world around him seemed to melt away, it felt like he was back in fathers presence. He so missed being around him and the feeling of knowing all was right in existence. Gabe already missed home, but would never admit it, his mission was his main focus. He could feel the Earth now, something that was strange to him, alien to what he was used to feeling. It was so strong, like its own being. Was this planet actually alive, with a will of its own? The scent in the air was soft and clean, as if the toxins in the air was cleansed.

Gabe could feel everything, it was wonderful. This planet was so full of life and beauty. A smile filled his face as he opened his eyes, looking down at the rabbit that was in his lap. It looked back up at him and then nestled its head back into its paws. Gabe breathed in deeply, then looked at the fowl that where on his shoulders. He gently shrugged and had the birds go about their day. He still needed to train, even though he would have loved to stay in this state of nirvana. He stood up holding the rabbit in his arms and then set it down. It looked back up at him then hopped away. The light Aura around Gabe faded away slowly. He looked over at a stack of wood and channeled Twilight into 4 pieces. He manipulated them, taking off unnecessary pieces off and smoothing them using nothing but twilight. One piece was crafted into a beautifully detailed horse, another of a hawk, the third was that of a rabbit, and the last was that of the woman he had saved from two men earlier. They whirled around in the air until he finally was done and had them set near the base of the tree. Gabe released them of the twilight control and sat back down with the man. He sat back down and looked back up at the man. “You are very knowing for a human. If you are one. I knew a few humans that were also as strong as you back in the early days of your people’s existence. Some of them used their power for evil, some, like you, used them to better other’s lives. Some used it to only better their own lives. I like you Maul, you are one of the good ones. I would like to know more of you, if you don’t mind. You know who I am, even if you don’t believe me. It is who I am. You don’t have to share if you are not so inclined.”
