The Daily Bugle

Senator Hines has revealed how mutants will be handled: Sentinels.

A rumor traveled the circles of the supernatural. Mutants heard a safe, underground railroad was being started, inquire at the Summit. The beyond sought the strange power said to rest at the Summit of New York City. The gossip flitted amongst the rest: valuable information was to come to light when dawn broke over the Summit.

The Militia [Training] Empty
PostSubject: The Militia [Training]   The Militia [Training] EmptyFri Dec 28, 2012 11:22 pm

"Saddle up, boys! This is gonna be one hell of a night!" A youth group of mutant hunters wearing rags and carrying stun batons began to pile in the back of a white pick up truck. In the driver seat was an young female that had decided to take her father's car out for a ride. That wasn't the only thing she took that belonged to him. His handgun was also in her possession, just incase the boys couldn't handle the mutants they would be hunting this night. Little did the group of rowdy kids know, a silent Spider was connected to a building across the street from them. The Superior Spider sat in the shadows, watching the group with narrowed eyes. She had only heard rumours of this militia hunting mutants through the grapevine, yet there hadn't been any major movements from them that she had seen herself. After some detective, and deducing facts with the assistance of prophet and her own superior intellect, it brought her to this specific location. Watching the truck travel down the road, she'd use her accelerated vision to lock onto the objective. With this done, the Superior Spider would press off the side of the building and flip through the air with impressive acrobatics. Shooting a web at the corner of a building, the Superior Spider would swing across the skyline and follow close behind the truck from above. She suspected them to lead her some form of mutant rally, or something similar, where she could smash two birds with one stone. Following the truck while keeping out of sight was rather difficult, but wasn't too difficult to where she wouldn't be able to accomplish the feat. She was the Superior Spider, after all. Nothing was too hard for her to accomplish. Infact, she believed she could accomplish any job, even without the assistance of her powers, prophet, or the surrounding world. Her superior mind was all she needed. Though, if that was the case, then the mastermind behind the motives of the Superior Spider wouldn't have implanted his consciousness within her body. He would have find another way to make his own body superior to hers. But no, the good Doctor Strong resulted in the ultimate sin and stole her life away before she could flourish. Swinging around the world in the skin of someone else was almost unsettling, but knowing that his research and work proved fruitful made it all worth while. Why he was working to eliminate mutant hunters did confuse him, however. Maybe because he previously supported their work with rounding up potential threats and synthesizing their powers by any means necessary. It did provide adequate research data. However now something beckoned him to stop the militia from doing such deeds. Maybe a sorta muscle memory or instinct the body had programmed into itself before his hostile takeover. Either way, the Superior Spider continued to swing through the streets of New York's suburbs, tailing the truck to a fishy warehouse on the edge of town. As the truck pulled into the warehouse, the Spider would twirl in the air and land on the top of the building. Landing with grace, the vigilante would crawl on all fours towards the sunroofs that allowed her to look through the glass and see the inside of the building. Sitting in a chair was a young man, tied and apparently beaten. It appeared like the mutant hunters had captured themselves a sucker and had been beating him here in this warehouse for quite some time. If he truly was a mutant, Superior Spider wondered why he didn't simply break out of his binds. Maybe because he truly wasn't a mutant, but was a human they had mistaken as one? They were a bunch of kids, so it would warrant some concern. The female simply watched from the rooftop as a number of militia thugs would begin to surround the boy tied in the chair. She couldn't hear them, but apparently they were questioning him. Each question he failed to answer, his punishment was a swift strike with a steel pipe to his jaw. Bet that hurt. The Superior Spider continued to watch the brutal beating of the young teen, as they continued to ask him questions about his life and his powers, maybe? Not like she could know.

The Militia [Training] Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Militia [Training]   The Militia [Training] EmptySat Dec 29, 2012 12:51 am

"I'm not a mutant! I swear I'm not-"CRACK! Another hit from the crowbar as the young teen was hit hard enough for the chair to fall over. The boy laid on the ground with a beaten face and coughing on his own blood. When he woke up that morning he wasn't expecting to be put in such a situation later that night, huh? His eyes shifted in the dark room trying to get a good look at his assailants but they masked themselves in shadows, laughing at his pain. He couldn't help but ask himself what the hell he did to deserve such torture. Spitting out a tooth, the boy laid there and contemplated the last few months of his life. What the hell was he doing with himself? Working for a newspaper company that was about to go out of business in a few months. A dead end job his mother wished he never would have taken in the first place. A girlfriend that left him for his old childhood best friend, leaving him broken and hurt. Maybe he should have been thanking these punks for knocking some sense into them. Perhaps this end would give him a first class ticket to the next life he'd live. Who would have known the moment the male gave up all hope, his saving angel would grace the scene with style. Shattering the sunroof glass with style, the figure of the Superior Spider would be seen as a dark silhouette. She'd come directly down on the male with the crowbar first, taking his head and slamming it into the ground with force. There would be a large crack, as the boy's body would twitch from the force of the blow. Grabbing the crowbar, the Superior Spider would slowly stand above the downed male's body and tap the cold iron against the palm of her alternate hand. The other militia members attempted to attack her at this time, but their attempts were less than fruitful. Turning her body swiftly, she'd swing a crowbar at the closest male, hitting him square in the face which would send him flying back into the ground. The beaten boy, tied to the chair, watched the scene with blurry vision. He couldn't believe his eyes on what was going on infront of him. Was this one of the masked vigilantes he had been hearing and writing about for the past year he had been working for the newspaper company? This was actually his first time seeing one in person, and in action. It was interesting to say the least. No, perhaps interesting wasn't the right word to use here. How she moved with grace, it was like watching a ballerina on stage, performing for the masses. The movement was like a stream of flowing water rushing down a powerful stream. How her attacks linked into one another. How she dodged with precision and counter attacked with powerful blows. The boy almost forgot he was watching someone save his life, and was more mesmerized by the show that was going on infront of him. The cruel fact of reality came back, however, when he began to cough blood up on the floor. He had definitively broken a rib thanks to the vicious beatings taken from the group. When the Superior Spider was finally done beating the men of the group, the two white eyes sockets on her mask focused onto the female who had been driving the car earlier. Reaching into her back pocket and pulling out a gun, she'd point it towards the Superior Spider as if it'd be enough to stop the heroine from breaking her like she just did to her posse. The Superior Spider simply stared at the female as she kept the gun pointed towards her. Pulling the trigger, the Spider would use a mixture of her Spider Sense and Spider Reflexes to dodge the shot and use a web ball to counter attack. The web ball would fly out and nail the girl straight in the face, dropping her down a few pegs. With all the hostiles dealt with, the Superior Spider would walk over to the downed girl and would grab her by the shirt. Smacking the gun away, she'd rip the webbing off her face and stare at her long and hard.

The boy couldn't hear anything, as he struggled in the binds on the chair. He had foolishly believed the Superior Spider had come to save him, but she dropped the female and began to walk towards the front exit. "H-hey, wait! Aren't you going to untie me? Please?! I'm not a mutant hater, I swear!" The young reporter yelled towards the Superior Spider who looked over her shoulder for a split second, and then continued out the door without saying a word. The young male simply laid there, confused on why she'd save him from the beating but not from the chair. Attempting to muster up the strength, the reporter would roll the chair to his backside and grasp onto a shard of glass that had fallen thanks to the Superior Spider's glamorous entrance. Using the glass, the boy would cut himself loose and spit out a bit of blood. Couldn't forget he was still injured from the beating taken fro those militia punks. With a bit of freedom now, he could begin to untie himself from the chair's frame. Meanwhile, the Superior Spider would be outside and would begin to shuffle through various thoughts on what was happening tonight. That group seemed like imitators and not the real deal. No, the Originals were much more organized than that, if intel served correctly. And Prophet's intel was usually correct, as the Superior Spider did her own research when she didn't trust the annoying woman on the other side of the radio receiver. Launching into the air, the female would fire a web and begin to swing away from the location. At this time the beaten male was limping outside the warehouse to watch his hero leave the scene without looking back. He couldn't help but wonder who she was. Telling by that figure, and her size, she was relatively young, and maybe even a teenager. Could she be a student attending school? A mutant? His interest was piqued and he wanted to learn more about this young woman that had saved his life. Little did the male know doing that was like signing his own death certificate.
