He constantly struggles against the nature of his curse, which forces him to act generously. He will grudgingly put up with acting generously, but only if he feels the need to filfill the requirements of his curse.
Seth isn't the brightest of men either. He prefers to act first and think later, or even not at all. He believes that through action, everything will come to him, while inaction is just a waste of time and his patience.

History:
Seth was born and raised in Boston, Massechusetts as an only child. He never paid much attention in school and prefered to focus on his social life, which flourished throughout high school. He went through girls at least monthly by his senior year, while his grades quickly dropped. Only one thing kept him from dropping out of school completely: his fascination in art in the media. A quick reminder from his father, a school dropout himself, showed him where his life was leading him. Although he did not give up on playing women, he did push his way through the rest of school to graduate with his class. His grades weren't fantastic, but they were passable.
Not wanting to follow in his father's footsteps in a labor job, Seth fought to find a way into college. It took him some time in a community college to get himself back on track, but he eventually got himself enrolled at New York's School of Visual Arts, where he dual-majored in graphic design and advertising. Behind all the parties he attended, he actually did really well in college. When he enjoyed what he was doing, he found out that he could focus on his work much more than he did in high school.
Seth graduated (not with honors, but graduated at least) and began searching the job market. Although his profession was a good choice, many others had also made the same choice. Competition for jobs was a tough fight, which eventually pushed him as far as Europe to find work. A magazine company in Munich, Germany, hired him on to work on their ad space. Since Seth did not know a word of German, he hesitated to take the job. Without a better choice, he made up his mind to make the move. Luckily for him, his job relied more on the appearance of things than the actual message written on ads. A few years living in the country did rub off on him though, and he did pick up on the language enough to speak it fluently, though still with his own Boston accent.
One day when Seth started to feel more confident in his new surroundings, he ventured into a bar off the beaten path, far from his familiar territory. Sitting at the bar was a stunning raven-haired woman. Being who he was, he joined her at the bar and bought her a drink to open his way into conversation. A few drinks later and he was starting to feel like he was going to get lucky that night. Of course by then, the woman was drunk enough to agree to just about anything. It wasn't long until they ended up in bed together.
Seth woke up the next morning to an unwelcoming surprise. Now sober, the woman wasn't appreciating their encounter as much as he had expected. Instead of bringing the charge of date rape to the authorities, however, she took it into her own hands. With him restrained to the bed, she set a curse on him that would keep him from repeating his crime in the future far better than the law would. Seth felt pain far worse than he'd ever felt course through his body, and he soon passed out. By the time he woke up, the mysterious woman was gone without a trace.
It wasn't long before Seth figured out what she had done to him. In what appeared to be tattoos, golden snakes wrapped around his limbs. Shortly after waking, the tattoos began to slither around on his skin to reshape themselves. As they changed, so too did his body. No longer was he the handsome heartbreaker he was used to. In his place stood a short balding man with a missing tooth. The lesser form would be different each time, and would come out every time he made the world a worse place for others.
Seth tried returning to the bar to track her down, but even the bar was nowhere to be found. In its place was an old building that had been closed off for decades.
