A rumor traveled the circles of the supernatural. Mutants heard a safe, underground railroad was being started, inquire at the Summit. The beyond sought the strange power said to rest at the Summit of New York City. The gossip flitted amongst the rest: valuable information was to come to light when dawn broke over the Summit.

Letting Go [Solo Plot Development] Empty
PostSubject: Letting Go [Solo Plot Development]   Letting Go [Solo Plot Development] EmptySat Aug 18, 2012 11:40 pm

His body ached. The pain immeasurable as he stumbled out of the bathroom door, eyes squinched closed, mouth open in an almost permanent gasp as he clutched his loudly rumbling stomach. He crashed into a flimsy wooden door loudly alerting others in the house before the loud thumps of footsteps reached his ears, the shouts of "Nendo!" sounding over more foot steps as he finally wrenched his eyes open, the electric blue hues giving off a bright light as a charge built around them before it encased his entire body. The people surrounding him stepped back warily as he continued to glow brighter his body turning over onto his knees before lurching up at the sky, a silent scream escaping his mouth before the world was blanketed in white.

The outside world had no clue what was to happen that morning, the quiet quaint neighborhood barely waking up from it's uneventful slumber before a single flash of light ripped through a small brick red house that laid directly in the center. Within seconds the neighborhood was thrown into chaos as S-class atomic blast ripped through the air, flattening every single building around it before setting it ablaze. Sirens blared over the city as emergency crews rushed to the scene only to be obliterated by the following heatwave, the trucks and men melting together into a radioactive molten mush leaving the speeding vehicles to slosh across the ground before coming to a stop lit ablaze by the heated gas before exploding.

Screams of terror could be heard as those who weren't killed by the initial blast wave and the resulting heat wave rushed out of their homes, their blackened and burned bodies disfigured in every way. There was no helping these people as they would all die within minutes. Sadly they would not know about this as the heat and energy in the air began to spiral, circling the epicenter causing the people in the buildings at the very edge of the blast radius to stare in wonder. Slowly the winds and heat began to draw into the center, growing hotter and brighter silencing and awing those watching, deluding their flight or fight instinct keeping them from fleeing from the potential danger.

Then, just as everything had poured into a singular prone figure still knelt on the now charred ground, not even a corpse of the house nor it's foundations remained as he let off a soft hoarse laughter, the sound so quiet yet it was carried everywhere before he gave a sadistic smile to the sky and whispered one word, "Requiem..." and then the world was once again thrust into chaos before finally silencing for the last time...

----

Nendo awoke with a jolt, scaring his roommate who had happened to be standing over him, hand just a few inches from shaking his shoulder before the boy in question simply grabbed his hand and shoved him out the way, feet carrying him to the bathroom before he proceeded to empty the contents of his stomach into the fine porcelain. His female roommate walked up behind him quietly, her soft gaze giving him a look of pity as she rubbed his back, "It was that dream again wasn't it..." she murmured.

He didn't have to answer for her to know the answer to that question. He had been having them ever since the New York incident, the battle that had followed had shocked rumbled the very foundations of the rubble left behind the initial explosion. Sitting up from his spot on the floor he pulled himself up to the mirror, his bland unnoticeable features becoming more pronounced as he stared at himself, his eyes glowing in intensity before finally dimming down a bit. The female placed a calming hand once again on his shoulder causing him to to look at her before leaving her standing there.

Throwing on his hoody he hopped out the second floor window, feet barely touching the ground before he was already off into a brisk walk. It had been a few months since the incident yet the visions didn't seem to let up, nor did they lose their intensity, in fact it felt as if they were getting worse and worse, each one telling more of the prophetic future with each one. He knew he was no scry, in fact he was as far as he could be from one yet that didn't stop a rogue shiver from going up his spine at the thought of what the visions could mean. Was he some definite end? A weapon that had misfired and ended up wiping humanity off the face of the planet?

Shaking his head he cleared those thoughts. Of course there were two many variables left to consider, all of the visions stopped before a specific point in the story, that included the recent one. Just as the final flash or explosion occurred everything was whited out and it was almost too quiet. Did this mean that it wasn't actually the end, but really the start of a whole new change? The possibilities were endless if that were the case. In fact that meant that even now by acknowledge the fact that his life could change for the better or worse could very well change the fate of the world future. This also meant that how well he controlled his powers would lead to how the world reacted to him up to that moment in his future, so he guessed this meant the choice was his. But oh what a choice it was...

Letting Go [Solo Plot Development] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Letting Go [Solo Plot Development]   Letting Go [Solo Plot Development] EmptyTue Aug 21, 2012 11:02 am

That brisk walk had opened up his mind to a lot of thoughts, ever since that fight in New York he hadn't really trained or practiced his powers, their stagnation probably a result of his direct ignorance of them, but if this future prophecy of his is to go by, his powers aren't stagnating and are merely growing without a guide. A shuddering quake went down his spine at that thought. Growing power without anything to guide or lead it would quickly spiral out of control until it eventually released itself. Meaning that his dreams were a prophecy of what would happen to him if he didn't master what he was given, not if he left it alone... but that didn't make sense. Wouldn't power if left alone stagnate wither and die? Then again he couldn't say his power was normal, beyond the normal electrical absorption that he noticed whenever he came into contact with anything that had a current running through it, beyond humans of course, did this mean he was storing that power and adding it to his reserves? If so when would he hit max? In fact what was his max?

Taking a quick glance about, he gathered his wits and jumped a fence after a short run at it. It was something else he had noticed about himself. Before the incident he had be fit, fitter than most due to his courier job, but afterwards he realized he could do more, see more, react better. It's like his instincts had taken a nose dive into super juice and basically made him superhuman. Of course wielding lightning like the Norse God Thor is already superhuman, but now he could do things that would make people die of envy, or just plain old die if they attempted it. Carrying himself a bit further, he rushed into an abandoned market district, the older buildings groaning in the breeze as he stopped and tasted the air a bit, the electrical charges from the rusted power mains still humming along with a sense of satisfaction, reaching out he took a wide leg stance, not something to be taken seriously if you saw him doing it before gathering all of the electricity in the air into his body, drawing in more and more to the point where he seriously began to wonder if he had a limit, and finally his body glowed brightly, worrying him that he was gonna give off the reaction that would cause the literal end of the world, he released the energy.

The resulting blast blew away the buildings, though not his strongest reaction, the awe of the destruction he caused was obvious. Mouth agape, he gave a good impression of a gold fish before looking at his hands, still feeling a great deal of charge in them. Clenching his hand he idly wondered if he had to be fully charged to pull that off again. Thus he pulled on his own power, his thirst for electricity sated so he at least made sure not to absorb anymore from the derelict buildings. Gathering it in the core of his body and in the center of his hands, his face tightened in concentration before he let it all loose, like a fart that took days to release the resulting pulse was enough to knock over the remaining trees that had caught ablaze and sent them toppling noisily into the ground.

This time he could feel the small drain, a light pant could be seen due to the slightly chilly weather DC was having that day. But among the needless destruction and the rather slight exhaustion, a grin crossed his face. THIS was his power? The power that he had at his finger tips? No wonder his prophetic dreams depicted him destroying the planet, if he had let that charge continue to build up day to day he would have had enough power to put all the power plants on the planet to shame. And with a blast that concentrated... "Hehe..." he gave a hoarse laugh, throat mildly irritated from earlier before walking away from the crater he created. That would be enough practice for now he presumed, plus he could hear the warning sirens of the police and didn't feel like dealing with questioning and holding at the moment. So with a quick leap, he hopped the fence again and disappeared without a trace as the police pulled around the corner to the the scene of the crime.

Their face were twisted with awe, the sheer magnitude of destruction caused by the rather unfocused blasts had done more damage than Nendo could have seen. The walls on the other side of the buildings were completely blown out, the force of the winds generated by him expelling a massive wave of electrical energy had actually pushed the winds outward into the building where they were trapped before they had completely blown out the walls. Some of the buildings had even collapsed or sagged under the weight, and this said nothing for the trees or the wildlife caught in the blast. Everything was charred as though it were super heated with blood pouring out of the pores of the woodland creatures caught in the blast.

"What in god's name..." one officer whispered to the other. His partner merely reaching up to his shoulder radio to call it in. "This is Officer 5-2-20, we've got a possible bombing or an EMP blast or something. Culprit not in sight, may be caused by otherworldly means." he waited for a second for the call to go through, the receiver getting radio silence as the dispatcher relayed the information. Within minutes the loud sound of a helicopter could be heard over everything as a few bodies dropped down onto the scene of the crime. Men in black and silver suits walked up to the two shocked officers with hard straight faces before passing them by. The two officers idly noticed the briefcases the men were carrying before one of the men turned back to face them, "Go ahead and return to your duties officers, your job here is done."

With a nod the two men got back in their car and waited a moment before pulling off, they knew who those men were, and S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't show up for just any reason. "We just found some next level shit didn't we..." the radio officer commented as they pulled away. "I don't know what we found Charlie", his partner replied, "All I know is, whatever it is, I hope it's friendly..."

Letting Go [Solo Plot Development] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Letting Go [Solo Plot Development]   Letting Go [Solo Plot Development] EmptyFri Aug 31, 2012 3:03 pm

Sneaking back into his current place of residence he knew he had to pack up, the blast likely putting a beacon on his back and telling every hero and villain in the next eighty miles his location. He tsked as he looked over at his roommates, their questioning glances pausing him for a moment before he gave them both a smile, "Don't worry I'll be back some day, but first I have to control what I was given. Else you'd both be in danger. Thank you again for taking care of me after you had found me. I hope you don't get placed in trouble after what I just caused..." He turned and walked out the door after that, not bother to hear their questions as they rushed out only to see he was gone, yet they could hear his footsteps as he ran.

And so he fled, he ran as far as his legs would take him, no longer sure if anyone was on his trail he took to a car dealership. Hands on his knees he looked about unsure of his location but certain that wherever he was it wasn't in D.C. or if it was, he took a left when he should have taken a right. He stepped back as several thugs surrounded him, the weapons in their hands giving him a bit of caution as he thought about how he could diffuse the situation before finally noticing the fact that they were all using metal weapons. Some were knives, others were metallic bats, even worse some guy held a steam pipe in his hand, the rhythmic tapping catching his eye. He took yet another step back before raising his hands, gathering the energy in them without releasing it, he took one more cursory glance around before staring down the ring leader.

"Just let me go man, I'm just passin through. Not tryin to cause any problems, but I will fight back if I have to."

The leader just looked about as if the kid were stupid. His cronies all chuckling as another one popped up behind him and shoved him forward with the bat he held in his hand. Nendo took it in stride, releasing a pulse burst from both palms as he threw his hands out to balance himself. The bursts of electricity shot out and caught the guys standing to the side, throwing them away and shocking them slightly. Their weapons were practically useless to the touch and in a fit of unknown bravado Nendo swooped down, picking one up into his hand before jumping at the leader and swinging wildly. The distracted man barely dodged the strike as he called the remaining guys up around Nendo's form.

Stuck in a rather wide stance he held the bat out to the side, preparing to swipe whoever got within range off the face of the planet before tensing his legs and jumping off into a sprint. He leaped into a strike again the leader, taking a hit along the back from the pipe as the man dodged again. Landing on the ground in a roll he rubbed his back in irritation before thrusting his hand out the gathered electricity pulsing out into a wave sending the rest of the cronies into a dreamless sleep.

The two remaining foes stared at each other, the leader holding up his knife with a raised eyebrow and knowing smirk. He could see the contemplating look on the man, probably deciding whether or not to taunt the boy on his rather impulsive attacks. Shrugging mentally he kicked off again, this time holding the bat to his lower right while pulling back his fist. The man prepared to dodge again before Nendo through the punch wild forcing the man to lean away while pulling up his arms to block as electricity shot from the boys arm before being blind sided by the large metallic bat. There was a rather meaty thunk as the mans head was caught before he dropped like a ragdoll and began to seize violently.

Nendo tsked as he thought over whether or not to heal the man, knowing which ever he choose would be how his journey began and would likely lead to other major choices in the future.

Letting Go [Solo Plot Development] Empty
PostSubject: Leaving   Letting Go [Solo Plot Development] EmptyWed Sep 05, 2012 7:06 pm

[Final Post]

He fidgeted as he mulled over what to do with the dying man, his eyes looking back and forth making sure that no one witnessed the act so that they could pin it on him. He could see that all the goons were some what unconscious though he knew that they would squeal on him the instant they find their leader dead at their feet. Mulling it over in his head sighed and clapped his hands together. Better to leave no evidence behind than to try and save a man by killing him. He would walk up to the cronies. Their groans echoing in the night before kneeling down holding his hands out over their body thinking over how he would... kill them without leaving a trace. Thinking back he checked his own reserves, the electrical power in them dwindled just slightly, not a whole lot but just enough that he'd notice. Nodding he grasped their heads before gripping the skulls tightly waking them up sightly but it was already too late.

Changing the flow of his electricity from outward to inward he began to suck up the electricity in the two mens bodies. Their nerves frying as more electricity than was meant to travel through them at one time all rushed up towards one point in their brain causing the limbs it was running through to jerk about before coming to a permanent rest. He could hear the heart beat suddenly before stilling as it was shocked into submission before electricity surged up through their necks to their brains. The surge of power singed their scalps before it ran up his finger tips giving him an almost euphoric feeling similar to releasing his essence before he lurched back from his kneeling position over them.

He clutched at his chest as the pleasured feeling coursed through his veins giving him and subtle high before he shook it out of himself. He didn't know whether to feel sick or do it again. The fact that taking a life almost made him nut in his pants or the fact that it was just so... easy to do. Gathering his bearings he decided he'd think about it after he was finished and hurriedly repeated the process on the other cronies. Finally returning to the boss the man had finally stilled, chest no longer moving. Grabbing the bat by his head he wiped it off on the mans shirt before walking away, not looking back as a scream sounded out behind him. He waited until he was around the corner to break into a run hoping to distance himself as much as possible from the atrocities he just committed.

---

[Location - Appalachians, NC]

Nendo sighed as he trudged through the old camp. His eyes wandering over the smoldered remains of his past. He knew his ancestors and relatives had probably moved far away by now, hoping to lose track of him and his family after they had left, deciding that he had fled far enough without thinking he collapsed against a tree, head in hands and mind to the wood. Tears threatened to spill but he pushed past those. He had no time to show weakness right now, first he had to find somewhere to go, somewhere far enough from D.C. that he could just begin anew. New name, once again, and a new life. Somewhere where he could practice his powers without people questioning his existence. And then he saw it.

Crawling over to the card he picked it up, a small smile crossing his features as he looked to the sky. Though he hadn't prayed to the spirits in quite some time, he thanked them for the vision and the words of encouragement. Packing himself back together he patted his pants as he stood up. No longer would he shed tears upon killing, sure this would be a dark and lonely path, but sometimes to make sure everythings squeaky clean you gotta get a little dirty. So with that he let go of his past, let go of his doubt, and let go of his future. From this point forward he'd be a star. A bright ball that people would look to from the past to see as their future.

So with that he turned south, continuing his walk down the ol' trail as it headed to Alabama before veering west to head towards Louisiana. He had a fight ring to dominate and a city to clean.
