The Daily Bugle

Senator Hines has revealed how mutants will be handled: Sentinels.

A rumor traveled the circles of the supernatural. Mutants heard a safe, underground railroad was being started, inquire at the Summit. The beyond sought the strange power said to rest at the Summit of New York City. The gossip flitted amongst the rest: valuable information was to come to light when dawn broke over the Summit.

Becoming a Monster [T] Empty
PostSubject: Becoming a Monster [T]    Becoming a Monster [T] EmptyThu Jul 19, 2012 12:31 am

Simplicity was a wonderful thing, especially when one would think of how to live longer. Whatever doesn't kill you, makes you stronger, or the saying goes, and Raishin always thought, ever since he had heard of it in a book, and on the street, that it was utter bull shit. Only you and yourself alone could make you strong. This was especially true with Raishin himself. He didn't need any one to harm him, nor did he need to be harmed to get stronger. Any eventuality, he could plan for, because of his incredible power. He would become one of the strongest people in the world, and he would soon unveil himself, and start taking over things, but first, he needed to meditate. He was simply in an apartment building that was payed for earlier by a random cashier, as Raishin robbed him blind. Raishin was sitting, indian style with his legs crossed, and his hands in clasped together, holing them on his lap. He was meditating, thinking of his life before he was released from the tomb. He was very powerful, but the thousands of years he spent within the confines of a five by eight foot room was not only maddening, but also draining on his spiritual power. It was also a bit draining on his mind, his mental prowess and memories slowly eroded. He was meditating now to try to remember some of his past life. As he did so, it seemed that the world around him melted into nothingness, while he searched through the confines of his old mind. He would try to find his memories, even though the only mental ability he had was hypnosis. He would simply take a deep breath, and then look around at his own mind. He would try to remember long ago, as sitting in the utter darkness was simply a primordial soup of consciousness and memories that couldn't quite be put together, as time and space blended together, maddening him. When he was first released, he remembered a blinding light, which ended up being darkness and artificial light, and when he escaped the confines of the tomb, even the darkness of the night was blinding, especially compared to pitch darkness.

He found a memory, remembering that he had once owned a house of vampires, and even though he was almost certain it was a false memory, made by his mind in replace of utter nothingness of sitting in the darkness for thousands of years. He simply shook his head, but the memory was vivid, and wished to play itself out, as the mind was a powerful thing. As he delved into the memories, he went back. He basically reappeared in the covenant, which was a society of vampires, set in medieval times, where they would fight off the werewolves, or simply tame them and keep them as pets. This was of course not the facts, and this was all simply a delusional memory that was placed into his mind to fill in the huge gap. Still, his imaginative mind seemed to be leading more towards the future the past, as he walked through the halls of the large castle estate, and simply sipped on his blood, which just so happened to be in a wine glass. As he did so, he tried to remember some of the powers he had, some of the vampire like abilities he possessed, which brought him to a busy street corner, a little further in history. this was the story of Jack the Ripper, but it was not him. He had the ability to change others into vampires themselves, giving them a taste of power. They were no where near the capabilities of he himself, but of course, he was their master, and as such, he needed to be very far above them in terms of power. He wasn't going to have them surpass him as head of the house, of course. As he would seduce women, he would charm them with his looks, and then bite them, converting them into his slaves. He would then find strong male humans, and simply convert them into his slaves as well. This of course was the never ending cycle it seemed, as the vampires would get wiped out systematically, all except for him, in which he would slumber and start the process over in another time.

As his mind went further into the future, the worlds he knew only through the books that he had read during his trip to the egyptian library. As he made his way through the streets, visiting brothels and converting women, he decided to get some wine. He would go to the meadery in the small town, and buy some. He wasn't quite a despicable man yet, as he still enjoyed making some connections. He grabbed his win bottle, and then simply walked out of the shop, making his way rather rapidly to his home. The sun was rising soon, and he simply didn't like it. As he would make it home, his house would be full of bags, containing human blood. He didn't fill them himself, he simply went to a local hospital, and stole them. They weren't quite good unless frozen, so he made sure to either freeze them quickly or drink them. This would keep him full for weeks, if he ever needed to live without killing people and sucking them dry. He would soon find a way to harvest the humans, so he could get as much blood as he wanted, whenever he wanted, as he wished to be able to be lazy. He wasn't one of those fictional vampires that hung upside down, or slept in a coffin, no. In this illusion, he had a larger than life king sized bed, that was made from goose feathers, and then dyed in wine... or blood, he wasn't sure which, and either could work. As he laid on his silken sheets, he would simply look up into the ceiling, and wonder where the other super natural people were. He was the only one, blood was plentiful and easy to get. The authorities were lulled into a false sense of security or simply too dull to figure out what was going on. Soon reality would come back, and he would remember it was simply his memory, and he was simply dreaming about it at this point.

Raishin yawned, a deep yawn as the dusk was upon him, and the night was coming in. He had just taken a nap, basically, and then made sure to get up and start stretching. He was a bit sore, because he fell asleep sitting straight up, but he didn't think he was going to need to get into a large conflict with another super or anything, so he would have to live with the light soreness that sleeping in a strange position would bring. He walked out of his front door, and then started walking down the street, the sun glaring into his eyes from in between the lines of the buildings, and it seemed to be on that perfect point on the horizon, that allowed it to shine right into his face, but he simply turned the other way to avoid it. He was going to simply walk around New York, maybe try to find a hot dog vendor, and get in good with him. He felt like simply acting human, get into their heads, even though he didn't have the same needs and requirements as them. They needed to get jobs, and provide for their family, make sure they could pay bills to the government, and all sorts of other problems. this was only if they didn't get injured in any way, or get sick, because he heard that just a hospital visit cost quite a bit of money. They required quite a bit of money simply to tell you that you are sick. That didn't quite make sense to Raishin, but it seemed to be the ways of the new world. Back when he was in the world, it was gold bars, and now it was paper currency. Dyed paper, he would have never guessed that something so trivial would be so valuable in this new day and age.

Regardless, the amount of new technology was astounding, as he hadn't even heard of electricity, the energy source that almost everything in this new world ran on. Advanced mechanisms made weapons far more powerful, and especially things called firearms. He wanted to go see a firearm in action, as it seemed that these things were absolute death machines that could be exploited in a very easy way. He didn't seem to have the hands for it though, he was much more personal and ruthless. No point in taking out your opponent with such a cowardly weapon, as Raishin only had his own body, and that felt really good. When he finally sunk his teeth into another super, that would make him very happy. It seemed that he had spaced out for quite a bit of time, and he passed several hot dog salesman. He had only heard that these things were good, but it was simply cooked meat, so of course he would enjoy it. And of course, they would add thick red liquid to it, which was also a positive thing, as anything reminding him of blood would be a positive. Still, it seemed that the meat was in fact rather hot, but Raishin simply ignored it, and started to eat. The man mentioned that he ate like a big, and laughed at him. He would need to go get a book on proper eating etiquette, as he was trying to be a gentleman. As he cleaned off his face, he would head back over to his favorite place, the library. It seemed that he needed a library card, but a quick mental mishap cleared his way into the place, and he quickly grabbed a book. He would leave, back to is place to figure out how to eat like a sir.

Raishin quickly took up the quality of the silverware needed to eat in a fancy restaurant, and of course, the types of forks and spoons, and even knives, for different types of food. This society now was so wasteful, as they would get six or more pieces of silver ware dirty, simply because they didn't wish to use a fork designated for salad for any sort of meat. Why the leaves and the flesh couldn't intermingle on the fork when they were going to inside of the body anyways, was beyond him completely. He was unsure as what the humans thought about death and the afterlife, considering they couldn't quite witness or experience it and tell about it. He knew for a fact that there was an afterlife and an underworld, as he knew there were gods with dominion over it. They could bring back the dead and such, which was a little strange. Raishin wanted to command something, and he supposed he would settle with the night, as he was basically very good during the night, although he was good during the day for it as well. He wasn't particularly strong during the night, but it was during the day that most vampires would be damage or even lose their powers, and they could even die and disintegrate from direct exposure. This made certain super beings dangerous, as there might be those that could control solar energy, which would be a perfect way to counter his vampiric abilities. He would need to evolve passed that eventually, but he simply didn't know how yet. Perhaps he could change his cells to accept sunlight, much like the plants. Plants were something to think about, considering they were strong, they could grow and regrow after many deaths, even after being burnt to a crisp. He would have to place that in his mental memory banks. He would also have to figure out a way to oppose that darkness manipulator that he met with, should the need ever arise. He wasn't sure how to do that yet, considering darkness or shadows, or whatever the man used, was much harder to counter.

Well, it seemed that he was wandering around thinking to himself, and thus a few memories of his past life flooded back to him, the ability to morph his own body was amazing, and of course he loved the abilities that being a vampire gave to him, but he needed to increase his resistance to the sun sooner than later, as he would hate to be in a fight, and suddenly a powerful ray of sun hinders him quite a bit in battle. As it stood currently, he still couldn't die from direct sunlight exposure, so that was a positive.
