The Daily Bugle

Senator Hines has revealed how mutants will be handled: Sentinels.

A rumor traveled the circles of the supernatural. Mutants heard a safe, underground railroad was being started, inquire at the Summit. The beyond sought the strange power said to rest at the Summit of New York City. The gossip flitted amongst the rest: valuable information was to come to light when dawn broke over the Summit.

Items & Weapons Empty
PostSubject: Items & Weapons   Items & Weapons EmptySun Sep 08, 2013 3:38 am

Items and weapons

Tool or instruments used in order to defend or inflict damage or harm to living beings physical or mental, artificial structures, or systems. In the Marvel Universe, weapons are used to increase the efficacy and efficiency of activities such as hunting, crime, law enforcement, and warfare. Weapons are employed individually or collectively. A weapon can be either expressly designed as such or be an item re-purposed through use (for example, hitting someone with a hammer). Their form can range from simple implements such as clubs to complicated modern implementations such as intercontinental ballistic missiles and biological weapons. Weapon development has progressed from early wood or stone clubs through revolutions in metalworking (swords, maces, etc.) and gunpowder (guns, cannon), electronics and nuclear technology.

How do I Purchase Weapons and Items?
You can only buy weapons and items with prestige or word count training. Simply fill out the template of the weapon you would like to have for approval. Make sure that you are eligible for the weapons tech level. Once your weapon(s) are approved you may train for it or buy it with prestige. After this is done a mod will add it to your profile. Magical weapons cannot be purchased.

What are tech levels?
Tech levels are how advanced your items or weaponry are. Your class, skills and powers determine the level of technology you can have during the life span of your character. Normally tech levels are used for superiority but we ask that you imply some common sense here also. Tech levels when applied to a weapon is not just how advanced it is but also it's quality and superiority. Usually weapons of the same level will cancel each other out or destroy each other. A weapon of superior level will usually destroy that of an inferior quality within a few strikes. Weapons tech levels are shown below.

How many weapons do we start with?
Humans without weaponry specialty start with two D-levels and those with Weapons specialty start off with two C-ranks. Everyone other class starts with none unless they have weaponry spec in which they start with two D-ranks. Living essentials such as a low tech phone and other everyday household items are considered basic living tools and do not need to be purchased.

E-Level:
This falls under the most basic and small category of weapon types. Anything that's small and has no special attributes belongs to this category. Keep in mind that items such as these are easily broken by superior weaponry. These items and weapons have simple functions and no acting mechanisms.

D-Level:
Any weapon/Item within this category is still basic, however it may be larger, sharper or simply a bit more effective than E-Level. A human without weaponry specialty can have TWO D-level Items. These usually have simple functions and mechanisms.

C-Level:
Weapons/Items of C-Rank abilities should be the most common for those with Weapons as a specialty. These include any size of weapon so long as it's not so big it's impossible to carry, or so small you can't see it. However these weapons/Items are ranked by their effectiveness, this includes the size, abilities, etc. You may have a modified weapon under this category, you may have weapons that can do battle with other C-level weapons/Items and take no damage, you may have a C-level weapon that destroys D-level and lower weaponry. This is the level where your modern everyday items are including basic firearms. This weaponry can have one ability per weapon. If you can walk into a store and buy it easy, it's C rank.

B-Level:
These weapons/Items are top shelf military grade for modern day society. Like C-level weaponry they can do battle with B-level weaponry or break weapons C-level and below. There are also more abilities available with B-level, this means your weapon/Item can now do more. As an example, you can have a weapon that does a maximum of two things which are special for that weapon/Item.  Make sure that you understand what an ability is, it isn't a simple effect but something that is activated with a purpose in mind.

A-Level:
This is where the future and Alien tech kicks in. A-Level weapons have all the advantages of their lower level counterparts, however they can do battle with a level higher than themselves without being damaged if an effect is in place. This means that an A-level weapon can battle an S-Level weapon so long as the S-level weapon doesn't have the ability to break lower level weapons. Weaponry that is A-level can cause a large amount of damage and have major advantages such as the ability to break through strong walls, send out a forceful push by swinging, cut through a defense, etc. The limit of abilities is three, so you could have all of the past three mentioned and still have a legitimate A-Level weapon/Item. To possess a weapon of A-Level your character must be confident in the field, to wield a weapon of this level carelessly could kill the user.

S-Level:
These are the most technologically superior weapons in the universe.  If a hero/Villain possesses an S-Level weapon/Item, they have the best of the best. S-Level weapons have all the previous advantages and more, they can cause a large amount of devastation. The abilities of the weapon must state this in detail however, we don't want random abilities being used that aren't properly explained. To give an example, plasma extensions on a weapon that come from the side of the weapon as well as the tip, would not be a good explanation by itself. You must state the range, cutting ability, visibility, etc. An S-level weapon/Item has four maximum abilities, it may have the ability to cut through people without trying, to break A-Level weaponry, to withstand any attack S-level or below, to deflect attacks S-Level and below.

Buildings and Headquarters
Buildings and headquarters may also be purchased. When this happens they will be stickied in the appropriate area. These buildings can be used for businesses, your super teams HQ or any other function that you deem fit. When purchasing a building you merely place it in the items template in GREAT DETAIL. DO NOT PLACE ANY SECURITY MEASURES IN BUILDINGS JUST BEING BOUGHT. Security measures are sold separately based on the item level listings above. The price is cushioned by the fact multiple business partners or team members can share the expense of buildings and there security measures. Inventors may also create and patent things to make there Head Quarters unique.

How much does each level cost in words/Prestige?

E Level= 200 Words/5 points
D Level= 400 words/10 points
C Level= 600 words/15 Points
B Level= 900 words/25 Points
A Level= 2000 words/50 Points
S Level= 5000 words/150 Points
Buildings(Prestige only)/300 points

*Note* A and S Level Items/Weapons cannot be split between parties via word count training or purchasing unless it is for buildings(No adamantium buildings or anything similar. You are allowed 2 walls or doors made of the metal).

The Keep what you steal/kill rule.

Here you are free to loot and rob other PC's as you see fit as long as it is possible to do so. You are allowed to take whatever was mentioned being used ion the topic or whatever is listed in there character profile as being on their person. Please do not rob for the sake of robbing . If your character is a thief then go for it. If you have defeated or killed your opposition please feel free to loot though most characters will have some sort of safeguard.

What do you mean by Tech level access?
Access and what you can have are two different things. If a character only has B-level tech access it means they are capped off at B-level no matter what level the character is. Humans have access to S-level tech though a C-level human can only have up to C-level tech until they themselves raise in level. A otherworldly however can never have S-Level tech even if they themselves are S-Level. Access means the capping point not what they can currently make.

The Patent system

a form of intellectual property. It consists of a set of exclusive rights granted by a sovereign state to an inventor or their assignee for a limited period of time in exchange for the public disclosure of an invention. The procedure for granting patents, the requirements placed on the patentee, and the extent of the exclusive rights are very simple. This is for those who do not want anyone copying their exclusive weaponry/Items or for those who wish to sell weaponry/items they have made and make a profit(copying means having 1 of any original ability placed on the weapon or item in any form). This means if they make a cannon that does something even if you make a gun it cannot do the same thing. It has to be an ability not common to weapons/Items of it's make and model. This is how patents work on Marvel Unlimited.

1. You must buy the raw materials. Raw Materials will always be half of the desired levels cost (I.E. A level raw materials would be 25 Prestige. Raw materials MUST be purchased with prestige).

2. In the weaponry/Item Template you would merely fill in that you are purchasing raw materials.

3. Once final approval is given you must have the appropriate skill at it's appropriate level and access to the tech in which you plan on making.

4. You will then create a post that must be half your desired item/weapons level word count. It must be of you constructing the item.

5. Submit the item with the words (Patent) in the topic header and on the app. If you do not wish this item to be resold please tell the mod this. Otherwise it will go in the sale section and you will be given a patent number.

*Inventors make 40% rounded down from all sold units.
