Senator Hines has revealed how mutants will be handled: Sentinels.
A rumor traveled the circles of the supernatural. Mutants heard a safe, underground railroad was being started, inquire at the Summit. The beyond sought the strange power said to rest at the Summit of New York City. The gossip flitted amongst the rest: valuable information was to come to light when dawn broke over the Summit.

| There was the sound of hushed breathing. And slowly, ever so slowly, the sound of a door creeping open. All that was require was a brief glimpse. And that glimpse was acquired. And then the door slammed shut. Immediately the three guards within the room turned to observe the sudden sound. And within that instant, a small figure came into existence just behind the first man, and with him a large rock fell, seemingly within his carrying capacity despite the slender frame of the figure, which was evidently a child. Gravity took on it's traditional role, and the weight collided with the cranium of the former conscious being, sending him sprawling to the ground. When the other two posted sentries turned to observe the event, only one figure remain, and it was on the floor. Bleeding. Dashing forwards, the two other guards reacted almost as planned. Both of them dashed forwards to look help their fallen comrade. 'Take heart Bright Lord, it may still fall our way.' Despite the fact that the feminine vocalisation was completely and utterly imaginary, the young child still nodded. His eye pressed to the keyhole of the door as he observed their actions. 'I still say we drop all three of them,' came a darkly gruff tones that might indicate a Irish and Swedish accented washed down with a bottle of strong whisky. The Chaos Prince didn't appreciate the lack of blood lust of his young host. Turning his mental camera to the hulking giant of malevolence, Kaku casually reprimanded him. "We don't want to wish unnecessary deaths Prince, you know that." The young boy once again vanished as a duo of footsteps approached the door. Apparently it would require the two of them to lift their fallen counterpart. Much to the disappointment of the Chaos Prince, who had most definitely been hoping to see a death or two. Once again reappearing at his original location once the path was clear, Kaku wiped his finger prints off the door knob. Nothing could be traced back to him, his parents would be most disappointed wouldn't they? And they'd be right to. Allowing himself a few moments of rest as he snuck past in another blur of light. One might ask him or her self why a child such as this one was walking around, doing business in the shady side of the law? Well, to tell the truth, it was because he didn't have much else to do. Correspondence Education was largely easy for the moderately gifted child, and his particular power, afforded him instance delivery of completed materials. None of the annoying waiting stuff. So he was, by and large, doing this because he felt like filling his days with things other then chasing skirts. Still, this had been his only role in the small operation, having provided some moderate distraction to the security forces in the building. Now, it was time to call in the cavalry. Disappearing once again, the boy's shape, form, texture, and colour made itself present within a old warehouse of sorts, a short burst of conversation later, two men came forwards, both of their faces bearing familiar expressions of distrust. Teleporting them in and out of the place was a easy enough job, and Kaku did not feel like taking home any reward aside from the one in his mind.
That had been twelve hours ago, and he was now feeling the effects of teleporters lag. The sun shouldn't be even remotely awake according to his biological clock, and screamed at the ongoing nuclear explosion to remove itself from eyesight and to sink back to it's proper place in the sky. On the opposite side of the world. Seeing as most nuclear explosions don't care much for imaginary voices and circadian rhythms, this one didn't really appear to be an exception and continued on it's usual routine. You couldn't say it was it's 'daily' routine because it's routine was day. Turning his perperial vision away from the sun, Kaku gazed out across the city of Washington DC. Not it's greatest concentration of culture by any means, but it had what Kaku was looking for: Caffeine. Stopping by what appeared to be a frequently visited establishment (with no sign about not serving children during school hours, another good thing about teleporation. You could screw with the days of the week. Live tuesday twice and all that. The novelty sorta wore off after a while though) Kaku slunk inside, finding himself a reasonably enclosed table as his vision flickered. Sheesh, he was more tired then he thought. Ordering what he hoped was a latte, Kaku leaned back in his chair, resting his eyes against the cool void of his head. Opening them once again, Kaku turned to study his surroundings. Wait..was this rusty archaic high backed chair really something you'd see in a cafe? And were those...bar stools? Too damn tired.

| He was not a native of the great city called Washington DC and that was rather obvious as he walked down the sidewalk now, he was glancing about just like a tourist would expecting to see something he had never seen before because he was away from home. Ari was here on business or he was supposed to be but today they had gotten off because someone forgot to lock the place they were working on up and all the tools had been stolen, personally he was just happy that it hadn't been him that had forgotten to lock the place up as there were a lot of tools there. Living in California he never expected to be asked by his current boss to come out here, but lately things had been slack with the people here so he was told to show them how to actually work and report back on who was causing the most hold ups.
Right away he could tell that it was a certain group of guys as they were working the first floor where they had the easiest access to tools yet they were two days behind the third floor where Ari was which was absolutely ridiculous. But right now that was all in the back of his mind as he was going out for some lunch figuring he deserved a treat since he had been working hard for mister Underhill lately. His caramel colored hair with the blond streak was tied back in a crude ponytail and even with his attempt to seem more civilized he had the look of the typical bad boy type even though he wasn't. His clothing choice a pain of black baggy jeans and a dark red tee shirt that clung nicely to his form, a revolving iron ring upon his thumb tinkled a bit as he walked through the door of the fancy cafe now.
He looked around and it seemed more like a combination of a bar and cafe together as if they were trying to cater to multiple different people. In Ari's opinion they should have simply gone with one style over the other as this style seemed to clash with itself, he shrugged that off though thinking it wasn't his place so not really his right to judge. He chose a table near the back so he could have his back to the wall to make sure that he knew where everyone in the establishment was, it was an old habit he had picked up from his time running with a small time gang. They always had to worry about someone jumping them back then so having your back to the wall was a good thing, as he sat down he noticed that the table next to him seemed to have a young man almost a child he thought sitting at it. He glanced around to see if there was a parent but the only people in here where him, the waiter and the kid, so before ordering he decided to lean over and tap the younger male's table "umm do you know where you are man?" he asked curiously in a smooth tone that could have been called a singer's voice.

| Ah pondered the menu, his eyes dancing over the degree of trouble the establishment had seemingly gone to cater for as many customers as possible. They provided the native names of many of the dishes they served, not all in the anglo-saxon dialect, but plenty within some of the more Nordic cultures. Swedish was a nice sounding language, and Kaku experimentally articulated a few of them within his mindscape before turning his attention to more worldly matters. And immediately retreated again. Too much glare, too loud, too real. Retreating his sensory probes back into their hoods, be instead reached out to brush over the woven pattern covering the table he sat at. As far as he could tell, it was an Indian design, but the material itself was very fine, but quite stringy, so it could be cotton. A local import perhaps? He wasn't really up there with knowledge of where various products were sourced from, so all we could really do was make some educated guesses, and some not so educated assumptions. Firstly, it's pattern was very much devoted to the symbolism that is present in many of their national designs. Sliding a thumb over what he picture to be an elephant, he traced the contours of what could be a brightly coloured box it was in, or would could be a yellow brick road- towards what he felt was a river off sorts, as the thread was very loose and it enjoyed it's previously celebrated aspect of smoothness. He pictured it as a light blue, maybe if it was very well done it would be tweed, a item of cloth with one main colour flecked with others. Maybe blue and white in this case. The picture of the instance it was designed to represent was clear in his mind, a clear running brook, the sun came out from above, peaking it's head slyly from behind the clouds, taking it's time in returning some surplus warmth to the world as it hung, suspended- continuing it's breath love affair with the condensed water vapour. If it lingered too long it was destroy it's partner, their passion resulting in the death of one. And it certainly wouldn't be the sun. Why did he consider the sun to be male? Women were usually quite, bright, cheerful creature...most of the time. So why did the sun strike him as male? Did it rise each morning fundamentally the same? Could a cloud change it's shape on a whim? Yes, it was this reasoning behind the generic temperament of each gender that endeared the concept to Kaku. But enough of this introspection, something was calling out, demanding attention. It was a beautiful voice, being enough of a vocalist himself to tell the different between a badly harmonised articulation and the lilting melody of the accustomed singer, so maybe it was the degree of skill to which this newcomer spoke that withdrew Kaku from his exhaustion induced shell. Opening one orb to gaze up at the adult figure, who had pleasingly managed to reduce the level of light reaching his optic nerves, allowing the boy to look at him without feeling like his eyeball had been introduced to a needle. And was he withdrawing that hand? Kaku truthfully hadn't felt anything. With probably wasn't a terribly good sign in itself considering his age. Deciding it might be prudent to answer the fellow's question (and it would stop others from coming over if they saw that an adult-ish figure was conversing with him). "I should be in a cafe Mister," his single revealed orb straffed across the room, the pupil dilating as it traversed the room to deal with the altering amounts of light. "But I take it I'm not." Kaku took a moment to ponder the situation from a more responsible viewpoint. Strange, it was getting harder for him to string a decent sentence together. "Just waiting for my coffee." Kaku gestured his hand towards a chair opposite to him "Feel free to take a seat if you want Mister. Eating alone is never quite as fun." | |

| Just with the miniscule amount of time that he had between tapping on the table and hearing the kid's answer Ari thought something was a little off, one it was a kid in the middle of the school day, two he was in a bar/cafe, three he seemed to be a bit disoriented. The first thing that came to his mind was that the kid was sick and perhaps trying to avoid being brought to a hospital because any kid without parents gets shipped off to foster care and no kid wanted that. Ari remembered hiding in a restaurant when he was sick and throwing up, the owners assumed it was their food so they offered him a few things, the thing that had actually made him sick was an expired piece of meat that he had taken from a super market. Luckily he had a good immune system and he fought it off by himself in a couple of days, but when he looked at this kid he didn't seem to have the same qualities that most street kids had.
Before he had a chance to look closer the kid turned his face towards him and he looked absolutely exhausted, it was the kind of look Ari would have on his face after pulling a sixteen hour day. Ari had to give the little guy some credit he whipped out his answer right away and seemed rather in control of himself for someone that seemed so tired, when offered the chair he decided to sit up from his table and join the smaller male at his. "Yea your actually in a combination of a bar and a cafe together, it is an okay look but I think they should have gone for one over the other personally" he said in a cheerful tone. "Ah introductions are needed I suppose, I'm Ari nice to meetcha" he said in that same cheerful tone as if there was nothing in this world that could bother him, yet at the same time it was a real cheerfulness not the fake cheerfulness that one could spot a mile away given the chance. Rather than talking to the kid as if he were a kid he addressed him like an equal, Ari could remember times where people treated him like he was stupid just because they were older and it was not something he wanted to do.

| So it was not just in their menu that they had attempted to expand their target audience. Still, the different cultures there were inherent in each of the niche's hadn't exactly been designed to be placed in tandem with each other. And it wasn't like the architect had even attempted to alter the basic design behind each of these archetypes. He allowed himself a small grimace at the sight of the bar stools while the small 'booths' that should inspire intellectual discussion with the additional influence of caffeine to bolster the mental awareness. Instead, they looked more like the place a couple might spend the evening, after school, work or whatever they did with their out of sight lives. And Kaku had chosen something that was a cross between the two to be seated at. In the middle of the clashing cultures. It was a table, and the chairs seemed to be more expanded stools with a back on them. Waving his feet in the air, he took a moment to internally grimace at his small size. Thirteen and he still couldn't touch the floor with his feet. Deciding that continuing the dialogue with the man seemed like a good move, Kaku moved his mouth quickly to reply post haste. Hopefully nothing got lost in the translation. Until he got his coffee he wasn't going to be very coherent. "They clash quite a bit don't they? And it isn't like the colour scheme lean...'leans?' I should say lends itself to neither...either?" With a small groan Kaku slapped himself none to gently, using pain to get back on top of his life. Giving into the impulse to close his eyes, Kaku idly commented on his rather quirky action. "Sometimes..pain can be..a- well..I find it can be useful sometimes." A bright red flush suffused his face as he stammered his way through the sentence. Not really being one who enjoyed stammering over his words, Kaku quickly closed his mouth, eyes closed in a subdued manner as he glanced around in candid honestly as he awaited his beverage. Honestly, did it really need to take this long?

| Ari had no idea what to expect with this young man as well he literally knew nothing besides the fact that the younger male had no idea where he was until just a moment ago. He nodded calmly as the young man agreed that the two styles mixed together clashed rather badly, Ari would have gone with the old style bar instead of a cafe bar mix. There weren't that many old style bars with the jukebox, the solid wood counters, the real beer dispensers instead of bottled beers, though he doubted that he would be able to run the place right since he wasn't much of a bar person. The came a surprising action from the little male as he actually slapped himself with a bit of force to somehow wake himself up, Ari raised an eyebrow questioningly as this was quite the thing to do in front of someone you had just met he thought.
At this point he suspected that his little acquaintance was staying up late far longer than he should and was now paying the price for doing so. Perhaps he had run away from home so he spent the night trying to find a place to stay, that would make sense given the boy's age and the fact that he was looking ready to drop his head onto the table and pass out. His thoughts were interrupted as he explained why Kaku explained why he had smacked himself while he blushed cherry red, he did note that the young man did not give his name in return though. "Well to each their own I always say, though I must admit I think a splash of cold water or some sugar would do just as well" he said in a playful tone now, "why are you so tired anyways? aren't you young folk supposed to have a ton of energy?" he asked jokingly. Suddenly his phone began to ring with an odd syfy sounding ring tone and he answered quickly, within seconds he was closing the phone "ah sorry got to run work and adult stuff" he said jokingly before exiting the restaurant.
