Senator Hines has revealed how mutants will be handled: Sentinels.
A rumor traveled the circles of the supernatural. Mutants heard a safe, underground railroad was being started, inquire at the Summit. The beyond sought the strange power said to rest at the Summit of New York City. The gossip flitted amongst the rest: valuable information was to come to light when dawn broke over the Summit.

Merri opened an eye lazily and looked out of the window. The sun was just beginning to set, casting vermillion ribbons of light across the sky. She sighed and rubbed her eyes. On a good day, she would have enjoyed the beauty that nature had to offer in the evening sky, but today was technically not a good day. She was here in Romania, on a hunch. A hunch about some spheres that had the power to give a wish or something. Now, that was laughable, according to her. Such a thing could never exist. If that was through, though, why was she here?
She had stumbled on the information by accident. Some days back, she was in one of her 'good moods', and as a result, had attempted to find and bust an illegal street fight all by herself. Sometimes, she kind of felt that it was an abuse of her powers, bullying others like that, but hey, she had a reason. They were not supposed to be on the wrong side of the law. The fight had been busted, one thing led to another, and one of the punks had blurted out something about not giving away the 'secret'. So, she had asked nicely, telepathically, of course, and all the clues had led her here. The punk had believed in the information, but it could still be a wild goose chase.
The taxi drew to a halt, Merri stepped out, silently paid her fare and walked into the foreboding forest ahead. People had warned her about this place, but curiosity had gotten the better part of her. She didn't really know what she would do with an all powerful orb... maybe just keep it safe for the time being... until she knew what to do with it. Such a thing of power was bound to fall into the wrong hands anyway, if the 'good guys' did nothing. With a shrug, she headed toward the center of the forest, looking out for signs of movement.

The further the female walked into the forest, the taller the trees appeared. They blocked out the nighttime sky entirely, making the forest nothing but a black abyss of lost souls and shattered hope. The wind moved between the trees, giving a sort of howl through the air...as all became darker the deeper one would travel within.

She felt lucky that she had brought a coat with her, seeing that the air seemed to get chillier the more she entered the forest. Already, the trees had blotted out whatever remaining light there was in the sky, so it may just as well have been night already. Merri suppressed a groan. The horror movies always depicted all the sick stuff happening in the night, though, judging from the looks of this place, coming here by noon may not have helped issues at all. Besides, she wasn't going to let some freak forest scare her out of her wits. If the darkness and the howling of wind was a challenge, then she was game.
Hands in the pockets of her coat, gripping the gloves that rested therein, she walked at a brisk pace, taking care though not to run herself out of breath until she reached her goal. Who knew what she would find in the recesses of the forest? It certainly wasn't going to be Barney the friendly dinosaur... Okay, maybe it could be Barney, but Merri was sure he'd come with oversized fangs and a bad attitude.
She squinted forward at a little glimmer of light, looking rather bright with the near absolute darkness all around her. It looked like after walking forever, she had finally reached the center of the forest. As she drew nearer, she slowed down her pace, deciding that the slower she moved, the easier it would be to hear any assailants, provided there were any. At length, she stepped into a clearing, with the little silver orb just sitting there, like it was waiting for her to come and pick it. Merri looked around once, then walked forward and reached out to claim it. If there was no interference, she would turn and return the way she came. Something about this place was starting to seep coldly into her bones, and she didn't like it.

The Nameless one had received information about the sphere along one of his charades to parade around as a hero. If he could get his hands on at least one of the spheres he knew he would attract the others. Someone would feel greedy and want to receive the one he was pursuing. Finding it's location or at least a general idea of where it was took a lot of resources even with his mind raping capabilities. If the legends were false people definitely didn't act like it. His trail went cold upon entering a forest the area was dark so dark it reminded him of home. The howling wind only added to his attraction to this place. He would have to come back sometime. He was at home in the darkness and even empowered by it. So navigating his way through the forests was trivial at best. His black Italian suit seemed to his as the Darkforce made material bathed in the atmosphere. The wind blew his raven strands back before strong digits tamed them and placed them in a ponytail. He had a feeling he would not just waltz in and take the sphere. Nothing was ever as easy as it appeared to be.

As the woman made her way into the clearing, the closer she got to the glowing sphere, the louder whispers on the wind would become. The slurs were in russian and incomprehensible, but it was obvious that the voices belonged to children. When she actually grasped the orb it began to radiate and the whispers began to get even louder. The trees began to twist out of shape, blocking off the exit to the clearing, while the roots beneath the very clearing began to press through the soil. Spreading out across the ground, appendages began to form from the roots, creating what appeared to be hollow dolls of people. The wooden puppets would stand at the height of six feet, and would begin to drag themselves across the soil, staggering towards the woman who held the dagger. High pitched screams emitted from the darkness of the forest loud enough to make ears ring, as the roots beneath the soil would begin to stretch out and attempt to constrict the woman where she stood, like a snake constricting its prey.

The whispers became louder and louder, causing Merri to pause a moment before grasping the sphere firmly. She was unaware that she was not the only one who was interested in this orb; the darkness was sufficient to ensure that. The sphere felt strange in her hands; she had expected it to be a little warmer. But that was certainly the least of her problems. The trees seemed to decide that she was not going anywhere, much to her chagrin and alarm. She could now tell that the whispers were not English, and the trees were starting to dig deeper into the soil...
Merri's mouth actually dropped open when the wooden mannikins began to drag themselves towards her. She backed away at first, then stopped. Since she was surrounded by trees, it was certain that these creatures would be also behind her. She couldn't move backwards; the only way left to go was up. Alas, she couldn't fly. Shewould have to make do with her only other option: forward.
"I don't suppose that your freaky attempt at a welcoming committee would only want to say hi and chat, so I'm sorry I'll have to... Yikes!" she suddenly yelled, as a root slithered around her leg, wrapping upwards toward her waist. The good news was, she'd thought it was a snake. The bad news was, it was probably just as dangerous. Luckily for her, she had an advantage. Before the root could go any further, she grabbed the portion closest to the ground with her left hand, and tore it free of the plant it was attached to. Then she dropped it to the ground and quickly slipped on her gloves. With all her superhuman strength, she was still as soft as... well, a normal woman, and thus was still susceptible to injury. Punching a tree with her bare knuckles could injure her, but punching the tree with padded gloves would seriously reduce that risk. Besides, a ton of bricks still hit like a ton of bricks, padded or not.
Slipping the orb into her coat pocket, since she needed both hands and felt she could navigate with whatever light was present, she picked the sundered root and flung it at the incoming dolls. Then she charged at them, yanking out another sturdy root, which she brandished clumsily, like a club. She only prayed that beyond this wave was nothing more.

The Nameless one continued on as he would hear a woman's voice. His dark adaptation had kicked in due to the lack of light and his senses were sharper. He was a nocturnal creature and he was more than sure that whoever had the head start on him obviously was not. However he would not change his pace as he was sure that the person was busy with whatever obstacles laid ahead and he was in no rush to deal with them. If he was lucky the person ahead of him would die in the process of clearing most of the way for him. Though one could only hope for such an outcome and he had already mentally geared himself for a fight. As he grew closer his idea of what was going on became more evident as his senses began to pick up more detail. As he grew closer to the clearing he felt the presences within the darkness and figured it was better to deal with them now. He began to whistle a nice little tune to draw attention to himself though he would not slow down his stride. Oh weird ,dark, spooky things come out and plaaaaaaaaaaaay!" he said in a mild tone.

She had the right idea if this was a logical situation. Ripping the roots from their nest and tossing them aside. However, something was wrong. The roots she had torn from their nests did not stop moving. Infact, they began to move even faster, now not being confined to the soil like before. The first root thrown would make contact, and most mannequins would break from the impact. However, even broken pieces would grow and become a mannequin in itself, successfully multiplying from what it was before. The ten mannequins she broke were now twenty, and the second root she went to grab and use as a club was now constricting onto her arm just like the other. Digging into her with its splinters and old oak, this "club" was surely no accessory of hers. The mannequins creaked with every movement, dragging themselves towards her. Two would lift their arms and fire a series of wooden bullets towards the girl. Though they would most likely break the skin if it hit directly, it would be no more than being stabbed with multiple splinters at once. Not fatal, but the pain would be stinging. The rest of the wooden souls simply moved to block her in, trapping her in the center of the clearing. The newcomer, even though he called for them, would promptly be ignored. He did not have the Sphere, and thus was not the target. The burden of the sphere was on the woman, and the woman alone, unless he was to take it within his possession aswell.

He was being ignored and it seemed the woman was having all the fun. He would read the mind of the woman to know exactly where the orb was on her body. An outstretched hand would be given and as he did such the sphere with great speed and power would fly to his hand like a bullet. He made sure it suspended itself before it could rip through his palm. He smiled as the sphere would simply disappear in the darkness if all had went according to plan. A simple glance up and he would teleport into the air above the brush and collection of trees. In a smooth transition he would fly off as soon as his body reached it's destination. This was unless he was stopped.

The telekinetic force of this ability is 1000/2000/3000/4000 according to rank moving 2/3/8/15 objects according to ranks C-S. This cannot effect PC's body directly. 30 yards per rank is the range on this ability. Name: Shadow Shifting Rank:C-S(B rank) Power:DarkForce Description:Shadow Shifting is the ability teleport an object/Person from shadow to Shadow or dark area to dark area. This is accomplished by deactivating light particles and converting said particles into a dark version of a wormhole and shifting into an alternate DarkForce dimension and out on the other side. The overall limit on the size of the object/person the users can shift is based on the size of the shadow or dark area they walk through(If none exist for them to exit through they are pushed out from the one they came through(if the one they came through no longer exists the user is trapped in the Darkforce dimension until a shadow or dark area returns in range that compensates his size. Aside from the object size the ability as stated earlier requires two areas within eye site. At B-rank the user can do this where they think a shadow or dark area will logically be. At A-rank the user can move through shadows/Areas they themselves have created. At S-rank they can move Anywhere darkness or shadows exist as long as the size compensates. Shadows and areas the user creates cannot be used for this until A-rank. This is more effective at night but still has a max range cap of 75 yards per use at all ranks except S. One can walk/run into the shadows and appear instantly on the other side, or quickly melt into the shadows in a matter of seconds.
Name:DarkForce Storage Rank:C-S Power: DarkForce Description:The user can put items/beings into a separate DarkForce dimension for safe keeping, and can summon them back with relative ease. As the man exited his teleportation, he'd see the skies were lined with hundreds of glowing white balls that surrounded him. The type you'd think would be some kind of spirit. The forest screamed when the sphere escaped the clearing, and now all their attention was on the man alone. The forest seemed to part below the man, as what sounded like trees breaking would occur in the darkness. Suddenly, a massive winged beast would shoot towards the man from below with its mouth agape. It was a spirit of the forest created from various trees and vines and was as big as an average fighter jet. It attempted to bite down on the man and pin him between his jaws. If successful, it would turn its head down and attempt to crash him back down into the forest.

Nameless would appear in the sky and would start to take flight when he saw the white glowing balls surrounding him. Eyes narrowed as he assumed the glowing balls would try to limit his use of darkness if this forest had some for of higher awareness of his abilities. It was then that he heard the forest scream.....wait the forest screamed?. Well Nameless had been a resident of the darkest pits of hell for many lifetimes so he guessed a screaming forest wasn't that bad. The sound of trees breaking would put him on high alert. Of course this would draw his eyes to the scene what he saw sparked his interest. It was a beast...a guardian, he guessed a quick exit would have been too much. This thing was pretty big and based on it's demeanor was not too friendly. It shot towards him with his mouth wide open....Nameless smiled. The reason was with it's mouth agape it revealed it's interior including the inside of it's mouth and it's throat. Light did not exist within the body, only darkness and with it's mouth being open the little that did come in produced shadows. Of course the shadows and darkness would take form and solidify completely clogging the airway of the beast and keeping it's mouth open. At the same time he would descend upward to stay out of range in case this did not slow his friend down. It was then that the solid mass filling the beasts mouth to stop it from closing would explode. If all worked out well this would take the beasts head. If not it would buy him time to get the hell out of dodge and he would fly full speed out of the area.

The beast was mother nature incarnate, and clogging its gaping gullet would do nothing against its ascension towards the man. However, the beast would suddenly explode, and its head and body would be separated. Not the smartest thing to do, simply because from previous speculation the man should have noticed the wooden creatures only multiplied when broken apart in such a way. The beast was the same way. His head continued to fly up towards the man, while vines and wood outstretched from the decapitated neck. A new body began to form in the place of the old. However, the size of the beast would be down to half than before. The same went for the body section of the forest guardian, reforming its upper half, but being half the size it was before. With the reduction in size came reduction of strength, but the increase of speed. The glowing balls in the sky weren't just for show. If the man attempted to fly away, they'd release white shockwaves of energy with enough power to create a barrier to press the man back down. The head section of the beast would spread its wings, releasing a number of vines from its frame to shoot towards the sphere holder at 50mph, attempting to wrap his body completely and forcefully throw him down into the ground.

As he flew upward the orbs would emit a force that stopped him from exiting. It looked like he was in this fight for the long haul. Blowing off the creatures head didn't work obviously. If the thing could fly around with no head it surely meant it was not thinking independently and had no brain for his telepathy to operate so he would not even consider it. Damn he should have opted for the basic demon package complete with hell fire. What kinda demon didn't control fire? But instead of giving himself the ole face palm he figured actually stopping these creatures and getting the hell out of the situation would be smarter. The decapitated head had turned into a separate entity and it was the most immediate threat. It wasn't as big as before but it began closing the distance a lot faster. This is when another construct would be made. This time it would be a force field like orb that was about the size of it's original form. It was merely a containment method. Except for unlike the last construct this one was given max density and weight. Half the creatures base size usually meant half it's base strength and hopefully it would descend back to the ground at an accelerated rate. At very least it would keep it at bay making it extremely difficult for the creature to fly. It was not long before the newly regenerated second form had mounted it's attack still maneuvering aerially his flight speed was much faster than the vines though he didn't not plan on outrunning them. Instead he would use his telekinetic force to stop the vines in their tracks holding out an outstretched hand. His other hand would operate each digit independently like a like a puppeteer. It was then that each vine hopefully would be wrapping itself around it's owner, the beast. He was using his telekinetic force to bind the beast with it's own vines and the primary focus would be the wings. Keeping them closed in to the body would prevent them from flapping. If there were no wings there was no flight and hopefully this creature would begin to descend as well once the task was done. The orbs restricted him from flight...he wondered if they had any restrictions on his teleportation as well. Best way was to find out as he focused on teleporting to the old warehouse that the Anarchs first met at. That place always dark and gloomy.

Well the man was good to say the least. And his teleportation ability could not be stopped. The Forest did not have the means to stop such a effect. Instead, it screamed out into the dark night, enraged that the Sphere was taken from them. The guardians had failed.
