| There is 1 part I disagree with. 150ish is a fine amount. I disagree with that. I remember having to crawl, and save for 18/22 prestige points in a 2-3 page topic. 150ish is roughly D-B rank ability. That means one topic, gets you a B rank ability. That is WAYY to much for me to comfortably be secure with. Imagine, every topic you did you got a B rank ability, that's insane. - Ford Perfect wrote:

Hopefully this is one of the last kinks to be worked out, this will already require editting and re-submission of all of the previously approved apps who used the Prestige. Also, I'm getting sick of this compensation business as Keita mentioned. Re-doing your apps like this should not give any rewards. Dunno, its just getting to the point of us running out mouths without actually moving towards a proper decision so I'm going to summarise what I think we've agreed on so far. Returning members, I can agree with that, as long as it follows some common sense. This site has seen a few incarnations, why people were rping in April, January, October of last year. Then nothing until 2012. Should we allow someone who was on the VERY first incarnation, to get bonuses while someone who was on the last and it died to not get it? Heck, we even have some staff members who aren't even here and active presently. A few don't even have characters... do they get a bonus for not doing a beta test, or do we blanket them even though they didn't rp? (As Amen and all staff knows, there are "seasonal staff" who should not in reality get any bonuses) I also agree on the "refilling out apps for compensation" part is a little redonk. So I purpose a possible solution - Spoiler:

Those of you who actually made a character during that time (Not previous characters, but remade a character or made a new one during the beta) will receive a small bonus to thank you for your time/effort and patience. (25 Prestige) 【 Opening Event 】└For some time, Marvel Unlimited has had its ups and downs. Good times and some rough times, but that is all going to change. We are rebuilding our foundation and starting out fresh. Everyone starts out as a clean slate in the new marvel world. While for some this may be a hard thing to swallow, to see there hard work go to waste. But it isn't waste, just like a going from one pokemon game to another, eventually you can't bring with your favorite lvl 100 monsters any longer. We understand how frustrating it can be, but hey. Its M-Day here and time to wipe away old hardships. ┘ 【 Bonuses 】└Old Members┘ If you rp'd here (actually made rp posts) in a previous incarnation, you are an old member. (Not rp'd during the beta test). Old Members receive 75 Bonus Prestige Points

【 Old Habits 】└They Die Hard┘ Some of you may have earned some prestige for rping during the beta test, the bonus you receive covers such costs. However, everyone is being reset to 0. Those that actually rp'd during the beta test will receive an additional +20 Prestige but that's it. Also, any prestige you earned and haven't spent is also reset.
【 Redoing things the right way 】└What about our hard work┘ Hard work is never forgotten, and always appreciated. However, we can't keep "paying" people for past work. While many of us would like to think the rping we did previous earns us some sort of stipend, we can't keep thinking like that. Nor do we wish to keep paying for previous work, so all characters, previous prestige and earnings are being reset back to C rank. No more prestige for just posting a character, or having previously done work. Members old and new will get some bonuses to compensate them, but consider that compensation a final package payment. 【 Some additional Information 】└New guidelines┘
- Members will not receive Prestige points for posting in any area's outside of Role Playing area's.
- All current prestige will be reset to 0, and members will no longer receive prestige for creating characters/abilities/weapons etc etc
- All characters are to be recreated, at a basic level. There are no transfers of previous abilities/powers/skills. Members can recreate or create new characters, but no transfers for anyone. (Staff included)
- If you did not create a character during the beta-testing. You don't receive beta testing prestige. No exceptions.
- Solo Role Playing will not receive prestige points.

My goal with this thus 1. We don't have members jumping and getting S rank's, most people will be able to afford 1 A rank ability/skill/power. 2. Prestige is hard won and earned, handing them out like candy is wrong, and just diminishes the hard work that has been done. Do I agree Prestige is high, NO. Do I agree that its been given out like candy, YES. Should it be lowered so that it takes a few months to get a S rank. YES. 3. Everyone ends up semi-equal. So we don't have huge gaps any longer. | |
