The World's Last Present [T, NK]

The time was simply drifting along,a s always, in the ethereal soup that was the universe, but suddenly, Ka could feel an imbalance ripple through time, and his consciousness was suddenly forced back into his body. He had been sitting in a cross legged position for thousands of years, and this meant that something involving himself was about to happen. He regained his grip of reality, and suddenly started laughing maniacally, looking towards the door. He didn't know why he suddenly jumped behind his master's tomb, and looked towards the entrance, where it was sealed with a large slab of stone, but he did. He could feel that there was someone or something on the other side, and he was simply giddy. He would get to finally fulfill his master's wish of being insane. Perhaps that wasn't the master's true wish, but it helped quite a bit, plus he was the embodiment of insanity after all, he had to somehow get out of the tomb, and reintroduce it on whatever time period it was.

Outside the Tomb

It seemed that the excavation was going great, as the new sonar technology showed a tomb that had been kept a secret for millennial had been discovered. The foreman of the operation told the tech crew to get down there, as the final wall was almost breached. There was still a 1500 pound stone blocking the way, and the drill was overheating, so they would need to bring in a crane or something. "Johnny! Where's that crane! We can't cash in on this job an go home without it!" The foreman would bark to a construction worker. "You think I want to be in this heat! The guy said it's going to be around twenty minutes before he can get out here." They had thick New York accents, which means they were contractors from a very powerful company back in America, but this was Egypt, and the locals were starting to gather around. It wasn't everyday that a tomb got opened, and the people were notified about the diseases that might escape the tomb, and there were medical crews with vaccines on standby. They still had to wait a considerable time for the crane, however.

Jason walked through the crowds of Egyptian people and many stepped out of the path of the giant. A murmer arose about the red sea and the quick parting of the crowd. Jason ignored it and made a bee line for the massive slab that blocked the entrance. A feeling inside hs heart told him he would meet a challenger but to do so he must unlock the prision that held the tortured soul of many and one. Walking past the foreman he ignored the yells for him to move though one look from the 7'2 giant made them quial back. Giant hands grabbed the side of the stone and like a brother lifting his newborn sister out of a cradle he ripped the slab away and threw it a hundred yards where it crashed onto the desert ground causing a massive cloud of sand and dust. Leaning down Jason stepped in, green eyes scanned the area and once again that feeling deep inside told him that someone or something was here.

Jason backed out of the room and back into the desert heat. His hand raised telling the people to move on and after that display of strength not many were willing to argue. The crew that had been there had already cleared out and in a few moments it was empty except for him and whatever laid inside. "I have released your prision gate, I was told by the ancients to come here and meet my opponent. If that is to be you then come forward...if not then the wise ones will send me a worthy challenge." Jason stayed standing where he was while waiting for the person or being to come.

Suddenly, the rock that was guarding the entrance suddenly moved aside, and was replaced with a similarly large and scarier looking rock. It seemed that there was a man, a very large man that had released the stone. The light that shined in was blinding, but the scarves that wrapped Ka's body was then wrapped around his head, and only displayed three strands of his jet black hair with white markings. His face was covered in the scarves, and displayed the three strange, vertical eyes. It was rather creepy, seeing a living thing, almost a mummy, rising from behind the tomb. The man said something, but it was in a language that he didn't know, nor did he have the current tools to do so. Perhaps he did, his master had given him powers beyond his wildest dreams, and he heard mental manipulation was one of the fortes.

Ka would simply lurch forward, and run, not quite towards the man, but outside, avoiding the man as much as possible. He wasn't afraid or anything, he simply wanted to see the outside world more than he wanted to have to deal with this guy. As he looked around, the sun was even brighter out here, and he could see a bunch of people. They started yelling towards him, and talking about him being a mummy, and also wondering if he was already in the tomb and how he survived. Well, he didn't understand any of this, he simply walked towards the foreman, who was apparently frozen in fear. Ka then simply reached his hand into the man's chest, and pulled out a small glowing orb. The orb was a blue color, and surrounded by smoke. This was a person's soul.

A quick chomp down would have Ka devour the soul and store it, and he felt stronger already. The foreman however, dropped dead. Ka then simply inhaled, and the closest 4 people dropped dead, and their souls floated towards him, and he quickly devoured them. Then the screaming and running around started. Lots of people running away from him, as he ran towards them, and started to rip through their chests, finding their souls, and devouring them. He currently had 5 souls, and then turned to the man that had freed him.

Jason watched the mummy thing slaughtering victims for souls and he felt the desire to help them but something else kept him from doing so. This creature needed it to live and the others weren't strong enough to stop it. Survival of the fittest and law of the jungle though these were people he never differed them from the animals they all were. Even gods and deities and beings from the stars were all animals in nature for they mimicked the nature of animals. If they were wise and strong they were the Lion, ferocias and deadly the tiger, biass and uncaring was the rhino. And those who were nothing more than liars, cheats, and jokers were monkies. And here was another creature hunting the weak for it feared a challenge. They lowly hyhenia preying upon the weak.

Jason stood where he was while balling his massive fist that looked like two giant boulders. "Creature, you have fedyour fill and are ready. But a coward tactic for your feed upon the weak and avoid the stong. I will call your cowardice into question and demand you challenge me. be it the gates of hell, the city of valhalla or some dark pit of the underworld. You will fight this day or forever be a coward and a weakling." Maul stepped forward and roared releasing his power into that shout so it echoed across the open desert. "Face me now monster, and know my strength is greater than yours."

Ka was sort of ignoring the large man, but that was simply because he couldn't speak or understand the English language that the man was using. By this time, Ka simply stole 5 more souls, sucking them into his gullet, and finally looked towards the man. He had ten souls, and he was feeling good, and a wicked grin plastered his face, towards the very large man. It would be dumb to go head on with the man, but he was strong. Ka simply started walking towards the man, and it was a creepy walk, as if Ka didn't quite know how to walk, and he was simply stumbling slowly towards the man. The insane smile on Ka's face, the only thing that wasn't covered in the scarves, would send a horrified look on the people that were still alive and looking on to this confrontation. As Ka made his way to the man, he would look up to him slightly. Ka himself was 6 feet tall, but he still needed to look up at this guy, as he was over a foot taller than himself. He wanted to see what this man could do, as he threw out his imagination, he couldn't actually even guess what the man could do, so it was a toss up.

The wicked smile was probably unsettling, combined with his appearance of being a mummy, and the vertical eyes on his face, covering his actual eyes. People simply watched in horror, although some were looking with a slight amount of hope. This tall man standing up to the beast, and they hoped he would win against him. Well, this would be rather fun, as he wanted to cause some insanity. He wanted to break the minds of those around him, especially the humans which would act as his food. Ka had made it about 5 feet from the man, and his tongue whipped out of his mouth, licking his lips, more disgusting than intimidating, but it was still rather unsettling.

Maul stared the creature in the eyes as it walked forward, his eyes followed the gaping movements but it seemed the mummies muscles weren't fully use to walking yet. His eyes roamed over it taking in everything with a look. He wouldn't match up to the giants skills or strength and that was a obvious sight. the creature had other powers but it seemed only able to use one for now which was fine since Jason had a few up his sleeve he couldn't wait to try out. Though against something like this it wouldn't be too hard to crush it with his hands. He didn't bother trying to talk with it again since it seemed unable to speak so instead he sid into a advanced stance and got ready in case the monster attacked. Walking over it licked out it's tongue which only made Maul smile. The creature thought intimidation and fear would work well it chose the wrong opponent for that.

Maul balled his fist seeing the creature was only five feet away and got ready. With one hit he could probably decimate the creatures body, he had no intention of killing it but to cripple it to where it could do no harm again was another story. Sever it's spine or step on the knee caps until they were nothing more than bone splinters. But that was coming shortly and for now Maul waited his body ready to strike with all the power he had in his body.
