| A broken down apartment in the slums of some city. Which? She didn't know, nor did she really care. She was never there more than a few days. It wasn't safe to stay in one location in an extended period of time. And with her mysterious employer always calling her, she never got to relax in the first place. The only reason the woman even decided to stay in buildings was simple..When she was asleep, she was just as slow as everyone else. That was when she was the most vulnerable..and that was something she wished to avoid altogether. With a sigh, the blonde female, by the name of Tara, would grasp her red hoodie and pull it over her tank top. Zipping up the yellow zipper, and pulling the hood over her head, she would lean down towards a broken table and pick up the red and yellow theme sunglasses she had laid out before. No one usually saw her doing her thing..but if they did, it would do nothing but hinder her future life in her current business. With one last look at the broken room, she'd grab her lightning insignia bag and leave out the front door. Making her way through the disgustingly dirty building, she'd finally make her way out to the streets covered in filth. Drunks were spread across the area, and homeless men littered the alley ways. Tara couldn't be anything but happy to be leaving the dump of a city..And just like that, she would disappear to the naked eye. In reality, she took off running down the street, dodging the cars and various people in the way. Even hopping up from the pavement and running on the rooftop of various vehicles to keep up her momentum towards the main bridge leaving the city.
After about thirty minutes of running full sprint, the girl found herself becoming fatigued during her journey. She was now in the middle of nowhere..A long stretch of road infront of her with only wide plains of dirt and grass on both sides of the road. Her full out sprint at seventy miles per hour was now reduced to a simple forty, as she jogged down the beaten road leaving a cloud of dirt behind her every step. There were no cars as far as the eye could see, giving her leeway to slow down and catch her breath. Taking her back pack off her back, she'd pull it infront of her body and pull the zipper. Messing around with the contents, she would finally remove what appeared to be a map from out the the bag, and would shift her body so the pack was back on her back. Without waiting, she would pull the map open and begin reading, while she continue her dash across the empty street, trying to pinpoint her current location. After a few minutes, she'd nod to herself before folding the map and continuing her dash. This time picking up the pace and hitting full speed once again; heading straight forward and towards Washington DC as her first stop on your journey.
Before long, Tara arrived in the busy streets of DC..Well rooftops to be more specific. Standing on an average two story building, she'd look out across what she could see..She needed a place to stay for the night. Well, if she didn't plan on having another sleepless night. With a slight sigh, Tara would shake her head while keeping her disguise on. It was too risky to reveal who she was, considering she didn't know who could be watching at the moment. Walking up to the edge of the building, she'd place her foot against an bulge coming out from the said building, that conveniently gave her a footrest. "What the hell is there to do in a city like this? It doesn't look any better than the last..and def doesn't look better than home. Maybe I should keep running to the next town..The employer doesn't have anything for me to do here, regardless." This was true..DC didn't have anything for her. She doubted she would find the freak she was looking for, and her employer had never mentioned it once in their conversations. Knowing her luck, she would accidently get involved in some terrorist act. The last thing she needed..In a blink of an eye, she was gone, already dashing down the side of the building and landing in an alley way. Dusting herself off, the young woman would walk out of the alley way and onto the sidewalks, walking with the people like another civilian. The sky was getting dark and the moon was hanging low in the sky..Tara almost forgot time kept moving, even when she started running. It felt so slow to her after her years of travel. Attempting to ask people around town, she got various grunts for responses making her even more annoyed when it came to the city..Were they so busy that they couldn't direct her to a place to stay for the night?

| *BOOM!!!* The explosion rocked the building back and forth, a standard breach and enter of the spec ops tradition. The regent and hired a small band of former soldiers and mercenaries to help with his goal. The CEO of bancorp had a large influential factor i and had opposed the regent. So the Regent wanted him dead, he walked into to find several security guards waiting for him. He laughed “Try and stop me!” he yelled, his hand glew red with red mist around it. He put his other hand on the glowing one and started to pull something out of his hand. His signature blade, and as soon as it was completely materialized in his hand. He rushed forward at a blinding speed to the human eye and gave quick clean killing cuts to seven of the guards, the last four of then rushed away just as the regent’s hired soldiers came in the shot them down. With that he made a small motion to them as there squad leader reached for his headset. “62nd floor secure, hold positions and let no one threw” the soldier said in a deep voice as he nodded to the regent. With that the regent began walking towards the CEO’s office “hmph..” he said, he wanted the CEO dead, but in truth he need a hero for him to test his power. With that he held out his hand with it glowing again and in an instant it shot out a metal square crushing the wooden door and lending square in the room, Before the CEO could get up the regent was already in front of him holding him by the throat. “I can give you money, power, anything! just let me live!” the man begged for his life “Oh i have no interest in those! i came here to get something i want and nothing more so sit quietly for a while" as soon as a hero would burst through the door he would stab and kill the man, it was inevitable that he would die. Even if you did have the power of speed the regent would still be able to kill him in time as it was. He waited for his hero to come by “You humans are such fragile creatures, a waste to be honest.” He stated as the man glared at him “Please! please let me live! please!” “hmm... no.. ive ran out of patience” he said as he stabbed the man right through his abdomen killing him instantly. The Regent threw the lifeless body aside as it was now dead weight. “come now hero...” he thought to himself quietly. He thought to himself what sort of freak he would fight “A speedster? a Monster? a Super Strength freak? or perhaps even a fire user or a master of the elements” Underneath his mask he was smiling slightly and even chuckled over his right ear piece he heard a voice “Sir, all levels secure, waiting for your go.” He replied back “Remain your positions captain.. im not done here just yet.” With that he took off his headset and crushed it. “The soldiers are just canon fodder nothing more, my real goal is to measure my capacity” he held his blade with the tip facing forwards facing down. ready for anything even through the smoke of the fires in the window the sun still gleamed making his armor, sword, mask, and light blue eyes gleam and shine in a majestic way. Some might mistake him for a hero as the such and he didn’t mind that at all because it gave him a clever disguise. The only reason why he wore the mask, red robe, and golden armor because of his love of the theater, the inspiration of his outfit came from the phantom of the opera. With closing that thought he continued to wait. | |

| The explosion rocked the streets and alerted more than just Tara, but the people aswell. It wouldn't take long for the authorities to arrive, especially since DC was always on alert from terrorist attacks. The people scattered in fear on instinct, and Tara would do the same, running into a hiding spot in an alley to watch the scene. She was no hero..There was literally no reason for her to get involved in affairs between normal humans. They didn't have the information she wanted..From her point of view, it looked like nothing more than another terrorist attack, after all. What gave her the right to meddle? She wasn't human anymore..She was sure of that. After a bit of waiting, the authorities would arrive right on cue. The perfect distraction for a person like her, if she was truly to get involved. The smoke and fire escaping the windows did nothing but remind her of the night when her father died. It was nerve racking..Could this be the same thing that caused his death back then? She only assumed it was humans, but what if it wasn't? What if it was the freak?! Even if the authorities surrounding the area, she had a plan..It was simple. The entrance wasn't safe enough, but the window. If she could shoot in through there, she could avoid any needed problems and could maybe even catch the freak in the act, IF it was the same that killed her father.
Thinking back on her life, Tara was always a disappoint to others. When she was stuck in a wheel chair before her powers manifested, she couldn't do a thing on her own. She was stuck relying on others. Though her Father never held this against her, the young girl couldn't but feel like his death was her fault. He pressed his dangerous research on her behalf..Because she was so helpless. It was only right for her to return the favor, was it not? To avenge his death..To avenge the death she caused with her selfishness. Even though she would have loved to blame someone else, she couldn't hide the fact that she played a part in his death aswell. Killing the freak that ruined her life wouldn't bring him back..but it was a start to finding true happiness. That's what Tara believed. People may have come to the conclusion that she was running away from her problems, but in actuality, she was running towards something. Towards a brighter future. When her body went into overdrive, everything else did aswell. One thing she detested about her ability was the fact her mind moved so fast that thoughts came and went at seconds. When each of these thoughts were about her father's untimely death, and her personal mission, it did nothing but drive her slightly mad. Her progress wasn't making any extraordinary bounds..Infact, she had made no progress on finding information about who her father worked for, nor who would want him dead. The information broker was just using her, but sadly she would need to keep working with the mysterious young man if she wished to have any sort of leads in the future. She didn't know where to start, afterall. Or..maybe she did..
Pushing the thoughts aside, she'd take a few deep breaths before jogging further into the alleyway. Her jog turned into a run..her run into a sprint..And before she knew it, she took off at speeds almost faster than the human eye; running up the wall and making her way to the rooftop across from the building. Positioning herself on the far end, she'd take a few breaths while stretching her legs. What she was about to do was extremely stupid. Using her super speedy thinking, she thought of many outcomes that could come from what she was about to do..Most of them ended with her having a few scrapes and bumps. At max speed she could make the jump and shoot through the flames without many burns. That didn't save her from the landing when inside, so it was safe to say she would need to curl into a fetal position to lower the amount of injuries she could possibly sustain. Nodding to herself, Tara would take one last breath before shooting off towards the window at a simple forty miles per hour before jumping from the edge and curling her body into a ball. This would allow her to cross the distance between the buildings and spin through the flames from the window, slamming into the room like a ball. If the man didn't move from before, she would have accidently rocketed into his backside and would probably cause them both to hit the ground. If he had moved, she would have hit the wall with a thud before hitting the ground. With a twitching eye, she would shift her head to look around the burning room to see if the freak she saw the night of her father's death was truly there..If the weird man in the mask was there instead..she would simply stare at him behind her red sunglasses..slightly raising a brow. Was this..the thing that killed her father? "..Who..are you? Isn't it alittle late to be playing with fireworks indoors?"

| The regent remained still, he could hear the sirens from miles away then, gunfire. Police and SWAT teams had entered the building, but again he did not care his goal was power. And maybe even he would run into her.. the mother of that boy all those years ago. Then again the regent had killed many mothers and fathers across the entire world. for all he knew the former CEO of bancorp who’s lifeless body was across the room was a father. As the regents head rushed in a whirlpool of thoughts and memories of the many kills he had the window broke straight open and the sound of glass rung clear in the air “So.. here you come..” he thought silently to himself he didn’t move from his spot as the glass came crashing down, from the outside he could hear soldiers nearing the door, with that in a flash of speed before his opponent could get up and face him he held out his palm and shot out a metal door 35 inches thick enough to hold off anyone who would dare try to enter. He returned to his spot in the same manner as before just as his opponent looked up to him, he already knew it was a girl. “Ive been waiting for you, hero” he said with his synthetic like voice mixed in because of his mask. "..Who..are you? Isn't it a little late to be playing with fireworks indoors?" he heard her say as turned around slowly and raise his blade and his feet into a offensive/defensive position “Let us skip the introductions, and get straight to the killing” he said in a cold but friendly voice in a way. Speaking in strange looping riddles was his expertise, confusing people with his speech patterns were easy as breathing or eating. “Come Hero!” he raised his voice a bit louder with that, and he took a single step forward and put his speed into this slash, he pointed the tip of his sword to his left and downwards intending on a uppercut slash, if the blade connected he would lead a serious wound in the spot where the girl was standing also it would probably end the fight quicker then it should, the air grew thin and the moon lost its color as the two super powered freaks were going to fight... and it was going to be messy.. VERY VERY messy. | |

| Tara would raise a brow towards the man who seemed to raid his mother's closet for an outfit this evening. He spoke in a weird voice, and she would raise herself, pressing her hands against her sides in confusion. The thing she saw that night that killed her father..was most likely not this one. He seemed to be a fan of his own voice..Lifting a palm, she'd attempt to cut him off. However, this proved useless as he took a step forward with blade in hand. Suddenly he would shoot off towards her, and in a simple movement she would do a super speedy sidestep to the side of his body where the blade was not being held. Since she was so close to the wall, seeing how she smashed into it before standing, if she successfully dodged his attack, he'd be sending an uppercut slash into the said wall that was directly behind her. "You're fast..! But I'm faster!" As the girl spoke, she would have attempted to slam into his side, using her bag as a shield between them, to knock the man into the far wall about five feet away. Tara would place a hand on her hip, awaiting the man's response. If he were to continue, she would aswell. She wasn't one for combat, but seeing how he took extreme measures to try and brawl with her, she'd humor him. Perhaps she'd find some information useful to her if she was to scrap with him..This was the first other speedster she had encountered in her life, after all. "You're obviously a freak, and I have no qualms with you. Why are you so anxious to pick a fight with someone you don't even know? All that's going to do is get you killed in the future. Do you want that?..I swear..You freaks need to learn some decency. You're all F*cking murderers in my eyes." The scathing words were more meant for the monster she was searching for, and not the individual before her. As she spoke, she felt her annoyance begin to build as her body began to shudder. Various thoughts ran through her mind..Ran through them at high speeds. Her eye couldn't stop twitching in reciprocation..She was obviously getting angry..and her powers were reacting to it. Manifesting even more. The angrier she became, the faster the twitching became..Pointing towards the masked man and constantly stabbing her finger towards him, as if she was excusing him of something, Tara would begin to speak once again. "What gives you the right to take advantage of people like you're above them? Doing what you want just for the hell of it! I hate your kind!" Throughout her speech she made sure to keep her attention at its peak. She wasn't sure what he could do, but her anger was surely hindering her. Little did she know, her powers were evolving because of her heightened emotions. Taking her anger out on him wasn't the right thing to do..but she couldn't help it! She despised freaks who did what they want! If they were under control, her father would still be alive! The distance between the two was still five feet, giving her enough distance to counter if he were to attack once again. 544 words - spec:

| Tara would simply blink at the man's exit, not bothering to follow behind him. Chasing him down wouldn't have been difficult. There may had been a slight difference in their speed, but it was large enough for her to chase him down when he ran. Instead of doing that, she would instead focus on the others he had brought with him. Just out of spite, she wouldn't let any of them escape the building. She'd be sure to hunt him down one day, but for now, his lackeys were big enough distractions to calm her nerves upon. With a few stretches and a final spit to the side, she'd take a deep breath. "Alright, let's do this." And just like that, she dashed out the window and down the wall, leaving a yellow and red blur behind her, as she made her way around the side of the building and straight in through the front doors. Little did she know, she was running much faster than she ever had before. The anger she felt before was used as a catalyst to make her abilities grow slightly even stronger. When she made her way past the cops and into the entrance, it appeared as though life was going in slow motion. Using her speed, she'd run through the mercenaries and remove their firearms and weaponry from their person before they could even take another blink. Before they knew it, she would be standing at the top of the stairs with a foot on a pile a guns while they were defenseless and stuck at the police's mercy. As the cops poured into the building, one would catch a glance of the hooded girl, wearing her pair of sunglasses, and give a raised eyebrow expression. She would simply stand there for a few seconds before lifting up two fingers and giving a nonchalant salute. "Smell ya later." And with that, she would dash past the cops and swat, breaking onto the road and taking off towards the next city. Sleeping in DC would prove to be too risky if the authorities were to look for her. -Exit Training Done 350+ words- | |
