The Daily Bugle

Senator Hines has revealed how mutants will be handled: Sentinels.

A rumor traveled the circles of the supernatural. Mutants heard a safe, underground railroad was being started, inquire at the Summit. The beyond sought the strange power said to rest at the Summit of New York City. The gossip flitted amongst the rest: valuable information was to come to light when dawn broke over the Summit.

Marvel Classes Empty
PostSubject: Marvel Classes    Marvel Classes EmptyWed May 23, 2012 3:02 am

The Marvel Universe is renowned for the presence of fantastic superhuman beings, the supernatural, and the cosmic. Some have claimed it is the “prime reality” in which events of universal significance occur (and, indeed, megaversal and/or Omniversal significance), though other cross-dimensional entities state it is no more significant than any other reality in the overall scheme of things. Regardless of whose claims are right, this reality is designated as number 616 (thus, “Earth-616”) to differentiate it among the infinite numbers of alternate realities. Within this Universe filled with super beings their are several types of characters in which you can build.

"The Elite Human"
Humans are the dominant species (and are believed to be the only significant sentient species) on the planet Earth. While technologically backward compared to many of the other sentient species in the Universe, they are prominent nonetheless because of the disproportionately large number of super-powered beings their planet has produced. The superhuman however is the cream of the crop among their species. Though they do not have powers they are incredibly resourceful and can adapt very quickly. Humans have more skills than any other class. Humans have 6 skill slots to start with and have access up to S-Level (Superior) tech without having to have a skill to do so. Humans may train a new skill of their level at anytime and have no limit on how many they can have. Humans do not have to pay material costs for weaponry. Humans may have 3 specialties while all other classes have 2. Examples are Iron Man, Hawk Eye and S.H.I.E.L.D agents.

"The Mutant"
Mutants  also known as "homo superior" are an offshoot sub-species of humanity who are born with genetic abnormalities which grants them abilities, an appearance, or powers beyond the normal variation expressed in the human genome. While their appearance, abilities, and attitude towards their evolutionary cohorts varies widely, all Mutants possess the so-called "X-Gene" which expresses itself around puberty and causes the individual mutant's powers to emerge. While records of Mutants on Earth appear as early as 5,000 years ago (with the emergence of Apocalypse in Egypt) the Mutant population did not grow to significant numbers until the early 20th century. Mutant births, however, began to increase throughout the 20th century (presumably due to environmental factors related to industrialization). Mutants may start with one primary power and can buy a Sub power at half-price. Mutants also have 4 Skill slots. Mutants can only gain up to A-rank tech unless they have a power or skill that allows a higher level. Each skill or power which bolsters intelligence or the ability to build weapons/Items(such as Forge's ability)raises tech by one level. Mutants gain +50% prestige when more than two are in a topic for missions. Examples are "The X-men", "The Brotherhood", and "The Hellfire Club".

"The Accident/Experiment"
Unlike mutant's these heroes were not born with any specific genes or abilities. Instead their abilities were gained through some form of freak accident or controlled experiment that altered their genetic structure. This can come through various circumstances such as radiation, cosmic rays, or genetic splicing. The accident/Experiment is the medium of all the classes. They start with a primary power and can purchase 2 sub powers at half price. They start with 3 skill slots and can gain no more. Unlike mutants they have access to only C-level(common) technology. Each two skills or powers(or a combination of the two) which bolsters intelligence or the ability to build weapons/Items raises tech by one level. "The Accident/Experiment" class gets a reduction in Prestige costs, starting at 15%, and going up by 5% every S ranked ability or weapon gained, up to a maximum of 30%.

"The Blessed/Damned"
The user has either had some form of celestial or fiendish blood or granted powers by a deity of some form of higher power. These beings rely more on their powers than they do their natural human instincts and thus they tip the scale of balance that "The Accident/Experiment" class provides.  Members of this class gain their abilities through some form of deity be it by inheritance or by some form of special construct. Members of this class start with two main powers and can gain 2 sub powers at half price. They have 2 skill slots and can gain no more. They have access to C-level(common technology) but cannot increase their tech levels through skills, only powers. Examples are Juggernaut, Ghost Rider, and Thor. The blessed/Damned can choose to have a weapon bonded to them. This weapon does not need any proficiency or added skills to be used at an expert level, and this may be any weapon. The weapon ranks up much like a weapon does, you pay for it's rank ups and it gains a sub power upon the weapon being blessed, and another one at half price. To bless a weapon one must pay 1500 prestige. Keep in mind that if the weapon gets destroyed or taken it is gone and another may never be made. The weapon changes as the user grows more powerful.

"The Otherworldly"
The Otherworldly is a class for those who are not from Earth-616. This includes those from another plane, reality, planet ,galaxy etc that does not fit any of the above criteria. Otherworldly beings are usually very powerful. So much so that rely on their abilities almost entirely. Such beings usually have their own agenda's and saving, destroying, or conquering the planet is usually a key factor. One may also qualify for this class if they were given their abilities by one of these powerful beings or one of their toys. Members of this class start with two main powers and can buy another main power and 2 sub powers at half price. They have one skill slot and can gain no more. Otherworldly have access to B-level technology but neither skills nor powers can advance it any further. Examples are Silver Surfer, Venom and Galactus. This race is currently Admin permission only.

Closed until further notice

"The Machine"
Machines are beings that were created somehow or someway. They do not feel pain, do not feel emotions, and have no real flesh or muscle. Unlike other classes, they get full immunity to telepathic attacks and toxins. Machines live off a power supply that powers their weapons. This power supply can range from electricity, kinetic energy, etc, and is their main source of power. Unlike abnormal beings that are granted abilities regarding a certain super power, machines get modifications integrated in their body that involves their power supply. This power source would dictate what your character can do, such as using electricity to shock people. Instead of abilities, the character will receive Modification Slots. These are simply slots that you can put modifications to your body in. These will be slightly more powerful weapons or items for their rank, because you will only be able to use a very limited amount of these in a topic. The amount of slots you will have depends on how many you purchase. Starting Characters receive 6 Mod Slots. 1 slot for the head, 1 slot for each arm, 1 slot for each leg, and 1 slot for the body. You may purchase a new slot at 15 prestige per slot. You may have as many of these modifications as you want to train/buy, but you may only bring the number of slots you bought plus your starting 6 into each topic you enter. These machines get slightly more advanced weaponry/technology at the weapon's rank. A normal C ranked weapon/item, for example, would be say, thermal imaging goggles. A robot character may have goggles with multiple viewing modes, such as thermal and night vision, while being able to turn them off and on with just some "thought." Another benefit to having a machine is choosing what you want to be made out of. At the start, you can only be created from basic materials, but as you rank up, the materials can become more exotic and mixed. Machine based characters simply get three skills. Unlike other classes, they do not get weaponry but only modifications. Examples of this class are "Sentinels", and "X-51"

Slots-Admin Permission

*NOTE*Powers and skills that can raise tech are those such as "Intuitive aptitude" or "Technopath" and some skills are "Mechanical Genius" Or "Weapons Producer". - The Machine class is permission only, as it is in the works atm. Meaning this is just a test run for the class and things may change.
