Appearance:
Axel is 6'0" tall and weighs around 190lbs. He has slightly tan skin and medium length curly blonde hair. His body can be described as fit and athletic, well toned and in shape. His eyes are a brownish gold color, like that of sweet honey. Some say he looks like an angel, others say he's fit to be a model. His handsome and charming looks get him much notice and attention by both women and men alike. But he doesn't really care much about his looks, for he is not that vain of a person. He likes to wear the colors black and red often. So commonly he wears a red t-shirt (v-neck) and fitted black pants or jeans with black sneakers. He often has on a black jacket with a high collar, many people recognize him with it. It's his favorite jacket, so he wears it often.

Personality:
Axel loves to learn about new things. He often feels he has a lot of free time, even when he doesn't, so he tries to get a lot done in short amounts of time. He likes meeting new people, finding his life to be rather lonely at times but his pride would not allow him to admit it. His pride causes him to adopt a "I don't need your help." mentality. He tries to bear the weight of his own burdens. He likes to keep face and rarely outwardly shows his sadness. He likes to be sociable and fun. He has a great sense of humor, finding a joke in almost anything. However he knows when to be serious. When he is serious, it's easy to tell because it's almost like dealing with a different person. His serious side and his fun, joking side are almost like two different people which can be disturbing to others. Axel does have a temper that often needs to be checked, for there is a lot of underlying issues there with keeping things bottled up. Axel is not above violence or being underhanded, though he is reasonable and a rational thinker. He looks at the world from a lonely place, feeling that most relationships are enjoyable and great but inevitably meant to end. Not that he wishes for them to end, but he just expects them to at some point in time. Axel longs for family and is unable to get past the loss of his own. But as said before, Axel has a lot of pride and doesn't exhibit his loneliness.

The Background

History:

Axel Nick Taylor was born on May 10th to Jessica and Mark Taylor in Los Angeles, California. His mother Jessica is a marketing analyst while Mark works for Google. They had Axel just a year after they married at the young age of 24. Fortunate for the young couple both were very successful in their fields of work early on and could afford having a child so young. However, money does not equate to the easiness of having a family. With both of their careers just beginning to bloom, their time was pressed. Jessica took a bit of time off to raise their child causing Mark to work more and harder. This was good for awhile but Jessica found herself becoming depressed with being a housewife and wanted to get back to work. She would begin to distance herself emotionally from Axel, somewhat blaming him for the direction her life seemed to be going. However Mark, would receive several promotions that would put them in a position where both would be able to work and also be there for their young son. They would even hire a nanny by the name of Alecia Fawx to help out while they worked.

Alecia Fawx was close to the same age as Jessica and Mark when they hired her. She was a loving woman who cared for Axel as if he were her own. Axel grew very fond of her growing up, feeling more love from her than his own mother. Jessica did not seem to notice or mind this growing dynamic in her own household. As long as she got to work and everyone was happy, she was fine. Mark however did notice and he also noticed Jessica's passiveness to their family's relationship. Thus there was some tension between him and his wife, raising the question if she really cared about their family at all. Before long, Alecia and Mark would grow closer and Jessica would become more distant in the picture. Mark and Jessica would divorce and Mark would take custody of Axel. Alecia would go on to nanny other children but would keep in contact with Mark and eventually they would have a relationship. Axel would really only know Alecia as his mother and Mark as his father, with brief memory of Jessica.

Axel would grow up a curious and adventurous child. He had a thirst for knowledge like no other. He was never afraid to ask a question and he dared to do things most children wouldn't just to see what would happen. Mark and Alecia loved his curiosity and as parents to Axel they would make sure to answer all of his questions responsibly. This would help mature Axel's mind early on. So compared to other kids, Axel would always seem to be more mature and also daring.

Axel's life was, by most standards, normal up until the time he began puberty. This was when his powers began to show. In school, Axel was neither one of the popular kids nor was he one of the unpopular kids. He was a versatile spirit, that fit many molds and just got along with everyone. However there were always bullies. He never had many issues with them but one day a kid by the name of Reggie would try him. Axel was minding his business, chatting with a couple of friends as they walked down the halls when Reggie saw that Axel was wearing a cool silver dog tag.

"Nice bling, I think I'll take it," said Reggie.

"Why not get your own?" Axel looked at Reggie, stopping in the hall since Reggie blocked his path. His two friends were just quiet at his side, unsure what to do. Reggie wasn't that much bigger than Axel, practically the same size. However Reggie did have a reputation of being a tough kid. Rumors said he was in a gang, at such a young age.

"I want yours, so give it up or get stomped," Reggie would say getting in Axel's face.

"No, now move..." Before Axel could finish his sentence, Reggie had snatched the dog tag off his neck, breaking the chain. Reggie then hit Axel in the jaw with the same fist he clenched the dog tag. Axel would stumble back and once he saw that Reggie had broke the chain his dad got him, his mind went dark.

Axel would awake in a hospital bed, hand cuffed to the bed railings. Mark and Alecia were in the room with him but in a corner. Alecia was crying and Mark was holding her, both with sorrow in their eyes as they looked at Axel. Looking around Axel would see that he wasn't in a hospital and they weren't alone. There were a few military people and a tv with the news on. His middle school was on the news and it looked as if something ripped through it. The aerial view of the school showed a collapsed roof in one area while another would show a massive hole in the side of the school. Looking through the hole, Axel could see the destruction and debris.

"He's awake, sedate him again," one of the military men would say. A nurse would move for the IV and Alecia would cry out, trying to get to him. Then time would stop it seemed. Axel could hear a voice in his head speak to him: "Don't worry Axel, everything is going to be okay."

A man and two others, dressed in black, would enter the room while everything seemed frozen in place. "Get the boy and correct their memories. We won't be able to do things the normal way this time," the assumed leader would say. His voice was the same as the one Axel heard in his head. A dark haired young man would raise his hand toward Axel and the cuffs on his hands would release and the IV would move out of his hand. Axel just laid their confused and scared, not sure what to do. "Come Axel, I'll explain everything when we leave."

Leaving with the mystery trio, Axel would board a black jet and they would fly all the way to New York. They would arrive at a mansion, Xavier's School for the Gifted (whatever its called). There Axel would learn that he was special, a mutant with a special gift. He would learn that he caused the destruction at his middle school and the government had caught him. Normally, his parents would have been contacted and they would ask for permission to take Axel with them to help him learn how to control his power but there was way too much exposure to do so. There was no telling what the government would have done with Axel.

Axel would spend the rest of his time at the academy, making new friends and learning how to control his power with training. He took classes that he would normally take at a school but also had combat training for self defense, something he became rather fond of. He learned so much and met so many other mutants, befriending many. However he still longed to return home, yet every time he asked he was always told he was not ready. Axel would get a better hand on his power and would always try to push his limits, wanting to discover more about himself. He was his own mystery and his curiosity made him even more daring to do new things with his powers. The teachers at the academy noticed and always tried to help him control it but he always felt they were trying to control him. He felt so restricted and he wanted to return home.

At 17, Axel would return to California after running away from the Academy. He knew what he was now and what he was capable of and felt he was ready to return. He did not care if the people of the academy did or not. He knew what he was doing, at least he thought so. He appreciated everything they taught him but he was ready to live his life outside of that mansion. He wanted to see his parents again.

However when Axel returned home, it was not what he was expecting. Axel would knock on their door and be unrecognized. When he told them who he was, they called him a liar and said that their son died in a horrible accident long ago along with other children that day. He could see that they now had another child of their own, a daughter. She looked about 6 years old. They would shut the door in his face after threatening to call the police.

Axel was now on his own California but considered dead. He now had to write the next chapters of his life.

Hello!

First, we have a new character template that has everything on it slightly changed, if you could change it to the new template, that would be great.

Appearance needs a bit more, it should be about as long as your personality you have, which is good, good job on it.

As for your Flaw, there is a specified system for the Prolonged use flaw, found HERE. In short, it starts at only being able to use your power for 5 posts before the negative effects happen. Also, going berserk isn't that heavy of a drawback, especially if your character is only really in a 1v1 fight, as an example. If you'd like the berserk for plot reasons, make it not extend the duration, so have a set berserk duration, and after the duration, your character is rendered unconscious.

For your Mental Manipulation power, this is currently a restricted power, and as a sub power, you will need to have a helpless(unconscious or severely weakened) or willing victim for your power, and touch their head to perform the power.

First Ability for Telekinesis - The stats for the technique can be found HERE, and essentially say that Telekinesis type abilities start with a base strength of being able to lift 100 lbs. You can stack abilities such as this or make a separate ability increasing the strength of your power by a %. This can also increase with upgrades and when the ability gets higher in Tier.

Second Ability Mental Manipulation - This needs to be weakened quite significantly, unless it's very temporary. Completely re-writing someone is definitely Tier 4 for a Sub Power. Tier 1 powers would be something like telling them to do a certain non-hostile action after they wake up, or filling them with 1 powerful emotion, such as rage, for x number of posts.

Strong Mind Skill - New Skill Info HERE. tl;dr, tier 1 skill is 10, tier 2 skill is 20 prestige. You start with Tier 1, which should be maxed at 50%. Tier 2, when you pay the extra prestige, can be 75%, and when you get your first Tier 3 Ability, this can increase to 100%.

alright, this looks good, although the appearance is still fairly short, it's fine for starting out.

Everything looks good, just know that for the Push ability, you'll have to choose 1 of those actions to perform on a person, until you upgrade your ability. Perhaps the Additional Effect upgrade.
