The Daily Bugle

Senator Hines has revealed how mutants will be handled: Sentinels.

A rumor traveled the circles of the supernatural. Mutants heard a safe, underground railroad was being started, inquire at the Summit. The beyond sought the strange power said to rest at the Summit of New York City. The gossip flitted amongst the rest: valuable information was to come to light when dawn broke over the Summit.

Skyscraper walked down the outskirts of Germany. After his easy defeat from Jessica Sterling in the tournament, he wasn't so much angered as he was disappointed in himself. He literary was defeated as soon as he took a step. It was completely embarrassing to be killed that fast. He was trained all his life in the arts of assassination, and was killed as if he was some amateur who picked up their first sword. It made him sick. It was strange he wasn't at all shaken up by the fact he just died but by the fact he lost. Being an assassin, your trained to supress emotions, especially fear.

"I suppose, this is a learning experience." He mumbled while cracking his knuckles. "This should be a lesson, and I shall apply this lesson to my training." He would focus on the first mistake he made. His kunai throwing. The entire kunai missed its marked, and that would be what he was going to focus on first. "Ok. Let's see." He looked around for something he could use as a target and found a single tree. He smirked and held a single kunai in his hand and threw it straight ahead. It hit its mark but of course it was, it was a big target, he needed something much smaller.

The breeze that swept across the low valley howled like an ethereal wolf, rustling through the trees as the sun slowly dipped its head underneath the horizon. Clouds were strewn across the sky, grey and and fluffy yet menacing at the same time, threatening to blanket the heavens in a suffocating pillow of dampness. It was as if mother nature herself had decided to cast her sorrow onto earth, the weather was simply not impressive whatsoever and any person who had a some common sense would know full well that a storm was on its way. The rush of the wind and the faint smell of rain were but eerie reminders of the grumbling beast that was about to stampede across the German sky. Birds hid in their nests, protecting their young and wild beasts scurried away hoping to find sheller amongst the great trees and shrubbery, they felt the danger come closer...but it was not the storm they feared, it was something much worse.

Swaying across the everglades like a wisp of white smoke was a creature unknown to man, a horrid reminder that humans were in fact not alone and that the creatures of their nightmares truly did exist. A pale figure hovered just above the emerald shrubbery, pale unmoving feet brushing against the twigs and leaves as its shimmering ghostly form hovered aimlessly against the wind. Soft sobs penetrated the environment, the pure unquestionable sorrow dripping from its glistening green eyes and trembling black lips. The elegant woman covered her face in her wintery hands, as if by some chance some unlucky soul were to witness her pain and suffering. The long white drapes of the elegant yet tattered dress flowed behind the female figure, brushing against the trees and spiralling around plants like ghostly serpents...as if it had a life of its own. The creature was alone, wandering through the woods, its mournful cries piercing the soft veil of the evening light as dusk slowly arrived.

The creature known as the Revenant had somehow drifted into the German landscape, a country so well acted to horrors that the mere sight of her may have caused the locals no surprise. Was she the spirit of a holocaust victim, weeping for her lost lover or was she a vengeful spirit, smiting all who dare to impede her aimless wandering. Reports of the wraith soon spread across the local towns, apparently some hunters had witnessed a brief glimpse of the beautiful spectre as she floated on top of a lake...they said a terrifying mist followed her, as if hell itself had taken shape of a rose scented mist. News of the revenant eventually reached much of the surrounding area and if the locals listened carefully that night they would hear the trembling sobs of a woman caught between the plains of life and death, they would hear the utter despair reverberating across the dense environment and yet they dare not look out their windows...for looking at the revenant was a definite passage to death. One glance and your soul would be scoured from this very earth, torn away away by the weeping woman.

Tattered ghostly linen brushed against a meadow illuminated by the shafts of moonlight that managed to pass over the dense clouds. Incoherent words escaped her nightmarish black lips, like a deathly incantation she continued drawling on and on...forever gazing at the pendant around her neck. "Why...Why did you leave...?", she mumbled into the cool air, he whispery voice drenched in the pain and sorrow only she knew of. Glistening tears sprung from her eyes, cascading down her cheekbone as it caressed the underside of her face, "Come back..Come back to me..." she mumbled, gazing at the oncoming storm, never blinking and never flinching when thunder boomed across the heavens. She could not feel the wind against her skin, not smell the rain nor could she experience the utter awe and dread that storm's brought. She could not experience these things because she did not exist...she should not exist..

The fog that hovered around her body soon spread around the area, suffocating whatever small creatures dare to breathe the noxious white mist in. The very fact that she murdered several thousand insects with her fog only heightened the woman's anguish..she needed their life energy to survive and yet it hurt her to cause such genocide. The scent of roses clung to area as she moved alongside a fallen tree, its skeletal branches clawing at the air trying its best to keep her away. She was unnatural, not even nature wanted her..she was a spawn of fear and sorrow itself and as she quietly swayed above the ground something caught her eye..the figure of a human, a young boy..

"My dear...appease our hunger with the child and I promise you rest and security" uttered the voice in her head, its voice penetrating her already distraught mind.

Blinking away the ghostly tears the woman clenched her jaw, she did not want to feed off the child...but she was so hungry. The feeling scraping at the back of her throat that burned the more she gazed at her prey through the trees. "Sorry...", she whispered to herself spanning her ghostly aura throughout the area..hoping to catch her innocent young prey in the ectoplasmic mist...

Skyscraper heard the loud sound of crying. Looking around the plains of Germany trying to determine what exactly the crying was coming from. He heard the wind blowing in the air as he looked around for what ever the loud piercing sound was coming from. He noticed a thick fog began to befall on the area, a sudden change from the previous conditions of the outside as he started to feel a slight chill on the back of his neck. "This fog, is making me uncomfortable, perhaps I should get out of here to some where much more populated." He said, as images of detached limbs and flickers of light. The sight didn't scare him, but he knew that something was going on.

He would then begin to run out of the fog. He knew that something or someone was stalking him and wanted something from him. Images of these nightmares don't just pop out of no where and Skyscraper knows he isn't crazy so something has to be going on that he didn't want any part in. He began to stare out the fog, to some type of light as if he was escaping a narrow tunnel. He proceeded to dash out of the fog, as fast as he could, out of pure caution. While staring out of the fog, his eyes felt different, as if they were improved.

"What the hell is going on..." He mumbled under his breath as he began to get really annoyed by the confusion that he was in and wanted to either find out what was going on or just leave the area in general. The creeping climate wasn't emotionally affecting him due to his apathy, but it just mad him cautious of his surroundings.

The boy ran, like a little rabbit caught in a hunters trap he scurried away not knowing what he was dealing with. The revenant could not care less that he ran away because it was inevitable that he would eventually succumb to her otherworldly powers. The Revenant floated in the air for a moment, scanning the surrounding area, pinpointing where the boy had managed to escape to..just a few meters outside her fog. Her body immediately spiralled forward at an incredibly speed, the linen of her white dress trailing behind her, like ghostly appendages fluttering against the chilled air surrounding her. the wraith's body was followed by the mist and the instance she was adjacent to the boy he was once more surrounded by the deathly mist. No matter where he ran the revenant was going to catch him and knowing that he was no wary of his surroundings the spirit flickered her form around him...making it appear that there was more of her. She moved at such blinding levels of speed that it appeared that she was teleporting...but this was just a tactic used to disarm the boy..

The instance she stopped moving she instantly melted into the protective mist, making herself imperceptible to his flawed human senses. She was staring at him through the mist, like an invisible predator gazing through the reeds at its unsuspecting prey. Upon watching him closer she let out a sigh, if she did not kill him he would surely fall victim to the adverse affects of the mist. He was probably light-headed now, seeing the illusions and wandering where she would pop out of next...in truth the handsome boy was utterly helpless. He was stuck in her domain, no has escaped her yet and the weeping woman had feasted on enough beautiful teenagers to know that he would be no different. "poor boy.." she mumbled, her mind stretching out to the memory of a little boy. Was he her young brother? Whoever he was he was awfully smilier to the boy stuck in her mist.

She hovered above his head, silent and slow like a shark hovering over scuba diver in the great blue. She silently phased down behind him, her gleaming emerald eyes baring into his soul as her body shimmered, going intangible. He would no able to strike her if he was lucky enough to notice her, she was a spirit...his weapons had no effect on her. She reached with slender white fingers outstretched to clasp the boys throat from the back of his neck, hoping to quickly end his life and suck out the youthful soul that resided in his athletic form..

Skyscraper looked through the fog, and just when he thought he was about to exit, the fog's exit only got farther away. "Damn it." Skyscraper mumbled under his breath when he stopped running due to feeling light headiness. He looked around and put his palm on his forehead and looked around. "Who are you?" He said to the several copies of the image he saw. It was a female, a beautiful one. He attempted to resist her charms with his apathy and it helped resist but he still admired her beauty.

"Is this all your doing? I don't appreciate being toyed with." He said, drawing his iron bo staff. He twirled it in his hands, as he looked around at the images of the women who began to disappear. "Where did you go. Don't hide from me quit playing with me." He said as he began to swing his bo staff around in circles trying to hit the woman not even knowing where she was. He was going to have to rely on his assassin's instinct on this to try and get out of this situation.

The boy's movements became more frantic; he was desperately trying to seek the spirit that had slipped passed his meager defenses and he had yet to find out that she was behind him. Her slender white fingers flickered for a second as they delicately reached through the suffocating fog, the warmth of his skin slowly sapping away the longer he stayed in her mist. But it was too late, the beautiful spectre's body shimmered for a mere second before her arm passed through his throat. The warmth of the blood pumping through his neck almost instantly chilled, slowing down to a particularly unhealthy level. She felt his breathing become faster, he was slowly getting constricted by the pale lady...his very soul getting ripped out of his body.

A white aura slowly trickled down her slender arm, seeping into her wintery skin as she devoured his spirit. The Revenant stared unblinking at the child, her jaw clenched tightly as she tore away his youthfulness...she couldn't stop herself and at that moment there was no point in stopping. She was hungry. She must appease the creature living in her heart so that she could once again see the beautiful face of her beloved..

"Forgive me..."

Meandering through the forest, Kaku spotted a mist of sorts suddenly springing up, being outside thge area affected, he could see the motion of shadows within, and their positions where not at all suggestive of a peaceful confrontation. Acting as fast as he could, the young boy teleported down, the action removing his momentum and he swiftly landed in front of the fellow male who was under assault. Switly touching him on the arm, their conjoined presence vanished, likely to leave the intangible female alone on the roof.
