Light cast upon a cast iron horizon. [The Doctor]

Aaron stared out his window for a prolonged second, green eyes narrowing over the city stretched out before him like a vast jungle of steel and glass. New York was his favorite place to live, considering he had only lived in one place else which was marginally inferior. His palm played over the cold glass of the window as it slid down, leaving an almost unnoticeable natural grease trail, given life only by the dim glare of the sun. Tears collected at the edges of his eyes reflexively.

”Well, that’s enough reflection for one evening.” He muttered seeming to break the mental concentration instantly, his lips smoothing into a line. His brow crinkled only a second ago was now a smooth plane. He was standing in a clean modern-esque hallway, with windows giving a glimpse of the world outside. Both ends punctuated by white wooden doors.

He walked through the door at the far end into a kitchen, the smell of food permeating the air and into his nostrils.”Mom, I’m going out, be home in about three hours.” Aaron said to a dirty blonde woman who only dismissed him with a wave. Aaron walked into the street, people milling about, not really giving notice to the young blonde. He was wearing a simple blue nylon vest over a band tee and faded looking blue jeans. His inquisitive eyes darted around, as if they would find something to catch their attention.

It felt somewhat lonely without Sean, lonely without his partner in crime. He let out a dejected sigh that hissed through involuntarily clenched teeth, hand dug deep in his pockets. ’I hope Sean’s doin good in that school, maybe he’ll find some friends.” The prospect of being replaced was at the forefront. The thought that he would suddenly become his second best friend made Aaron scowl. He hated being reaplaced.

New York! Oh how the Doctor loved Americans. Always busy, places to be, people to see. And other than Washington DC, 1969, New York, 2012 was the Doctor's favorite city. The things the would happen this year, it's just fantastic. There was the meteor that landed in the Baltic Sea, that would affect all of the people of the world. But that hasn't happened yet. Or has it? When the TARDIS crashed, the only piece of information the Doctor could get was that it was New York, 2012.

The sun was setting as the Doctor walked along in central park. There were a few couples walking around the park. It reminded the Doctor of River, and how he may never see her again. The Doctor fixed his crocked bow tie, banishing the thought of never seeing his wife.
One less problem to worry about He thought, even though that was not he real opinion on the matter. He smiled at how innocent and peaceful the people of Earth were now, and then the smile faltered a little at how all that would soon change.

Out of the corner of the Doctor's eye, he saw a man who didn't seem to quite fit in. Wearing blue nylon vest over a band tee and faded looking blue jeans, the Doctor questioned the human race's sense in fashion.

He subtly made his way over towards the man. He saw a boy who looked like he knew his way around, maybe a local? He walked over to him and lifted his Physic Paper. "Hello there, New York, Citizen Registration" He told the boy and he willed the paper to show some decent credentials. "Tell me" He continued Have you seen that man before? He asked pointing to the man.

Aaron snapped out of his thoughts by a voice, and the sight of a man approaching him. He raised an eyebrow as the man asked him something, shifting his weight on to his left leg as he quickly thought out what he would say in response. ”No,I have no seen that man.” Aaron said frankly, considering he had indeed never seen such a man before.

Not a man by the description given at any rate. He spoke strange, something about citizen registration. This guy was defiantly from around here, given more evidence by his style of dress which was far too formal. This was New York though, strangeness was commonplace.

”Are you looking for help in finding this individual?” Aaron ventured to ask his tone keeping its eveness. This man was in deed strange, if somewhat enigmatic but it wasn’t like Aaron would let go of a possible day of entertainment, considering that he was quite bored these days.
