The stained glass of the Church Hall rested on the pale spectre of the tomb.
And then this image shifted, the visuals panning sideways, til they rested on the faded visage of a figure who's combined history and genetics were at least in part- shared with the commander of this vision.
The female's eyes were closed in peaceful repose, her countenance was that of resignation from her surroundings. Kaku knew that his parents disagreed on some things, and this Church happened to symbolise that festering disagreement. He hated it with a passion.
"Lord Jesus, Almighty and All-knowing God,"
This was unfortunately, the main bone of contention that Kaku had with the Church. He did not believe that any one person was comparatively greater then him. It was like 'the Almighty and All Knowing God could 'shift' like he could now was it?
"recent events have advanced against the dignity of life.
Arrogant in his ways, the leader of this nation,
believes that he can decide on the matter of life and death."
Apparently arrogance against what was obviously a facades of the highest nature wasn't allowed, which was rather sad. As it did dictate a certain similar disdain for similar so-called, sins. Envy was something that showed you were to go in life, what to do, what ends to seek, what friends to make. How you should define yourself in comparison to others. It told you want you wanted. To lust after something, well, Kaku had no knowledge of it aside that it was possibly the worst sin of all. But then, wasn't he the child of sin? And weren't all children? Including his Mother and Father? Did Adam and Eve sin to create the rest of humanity? Kaku shook his head in frustration. Did these fools even know what they postulated? The rejection of the driving forces of humanity?
Wrath was one of those things, the blinding, white hot energy could indeed be a powerful motivator.
And wasn't it important to know when to rest? Lest you burn yourself out?
What else were labelled within that seven strong legion? Sloth, Wrath, Lust, Envy, Pride. Ah yes, pride indeed. Pride in who you where, your own person, confidence. Did they wish them to be weak minded fools? Perhaps.
"Years ago, King Herod showed no respect for human life,
ordering the murder of all the children under age two,
they being snatched from their mother's arms mercilessly."
Well, he couldn't deny them that, the past had indeed been a brutal thing. But it was important for civilisation to advance was it not? The gradual progression of morals. The demolition of the slave trade and so on?
"Nowadays, the United States President, lacking in morals,
supports the murder of the unborn in different ways.
Look down upon these little souls,
they being torn out of the womb of their mothers,
by medical tools that were invented to save lives."
Oh, so this was about abortion was it? Well, that was one way of saying that they wanted the population to inflate, and everyone to starve to death. Especially with all the teenagers suddenly deciding that it was a capital idea to get ready for the production of children as early as possible. So taking away that option might force people to change their ways, or you could just leave things as they were, and attempt to tackle the root. Whatever that might be.
"Lord God, we beseech You on behalf of the unborn
to transform the heart of President %*^&@ ^*@$)@,
that he may come to a moral understanding of what he is doing.
May he consequently condemn and stop, here and abroad,
all support and funding towards all forms of abortion,"
Maybe it was detracting from their funding? Was that why they were going on this whining feast? As long as it wasn't done too late, to baby wouldn't be that self-aware would it? Well, Kaku didn't rather typically entertain the prospect of such a feat, as it would probably require some form of perception that didn't usually lend itself to the more mundane of children. Unfortunately, he didn't have such a gift, only taking on board the talent of instantaneous transportation. Which was good enough for him.
"Mary Immaculate, Mother of the Child Jesus,
turn your eyes towards the unborn innocent,
who cry to the Heavenly Throne for justice.
Beg your Son, the Lord Jesus,
to end the heartless killing of millions."
Millions? That was maybe just a bit of an exaggeration wasn't it? If not, then it truly was disturbing the number of people who didn't have the wits about them to don protection. Which was alarming in itself wasn't it?
"Amen."
'Yeah, I hate you too.'
As the old door of deceased flora swung shut on it's metallic hinges behind him, he finally let out that exhalation of breath that could popularly be identified as a sigh. It's title would probably change given the right time, an appropriate opportunity and human ingenuity.
His eyes slid tersely to the side. Why did they persist in continuing on going to something that made them uptight and unhappy? A small tightening of the muscles across his facial expanse was the only indication of the persuasion of his thoughts.
To avoid reiteration, and repartition of internal processing, Kaku reconsidered the problem from a more pragmatic point of view. How would it be best to go about dissolving this issue?
What actions could be taken to remove this blockage in family life? Kaku took his time to glare at a crack in the pavement while his Father (the practising Christian of the family) conversed with some of the other passionate supporters of the Christian Faith.
His Mother stood by him, one hand placed on his shoulder in what was evidently supposed to be a comforting thing. If only her hand would stop shaking, then it might be more believable.
So he did his best to ignore the vibrations of her body, and instead listened to the conversation between his Father and some of his friends.
"-t'was indeed a good sermon today, wasn't it ol' bean?"
His Father acknowledged his agreement on the subject with a stiff nod of his head.
"Yes, a resounding preaching indeed." The sound of their gait increased in proximity. "I don't think I've introduced you to my family have I?" The rhetorical question was answered with a negatively inflected grunt. The footsteps stopped in front of the pair. "My wife, Seiara. And my son; Kaku."
Slowly raising his cranium upwards with the extension and contraction of muscles on opposing sides of his body, Kaku rose his eye-line to gaze upon the visage of his Father's companion.
"Nasty foreign name," came the gruff comment. And everything crystallised in pure, sharp, deadly focus. Everything was splayed in sharp relief.
But most disturbing of all, was that his Mother's hand had stopped it's nervous shaking, and was clenched tight on his shoulder.
