The Daily Bugle

Senator Hines has revealed how mutants will be handled: Sentinels.

A rumor traveled the circles of the supernatural. Mutants heard a safe, underground railroad was being started, inquire at the Summit. The beyond sought the strange power said to rest at the Summit of New York City. The gossip flitted amongst the rest: valuable information was to come to light when dawn broke over the Summit.

What is Hero for Hire?

Hero for Hire is a company that gives various missions to those willing to take them. These missions will shape your image to the people, depending on its overall description. Some missions will be for the good, maybe protecting a building or a certain individual, while other missions may be for the bad. It may involve you destroying a building, or certain individual, instead. It all depends on the mission at hand, and if you choose to receive it. Each mission gives you a reward for completion. Most of the time these rewards will be prestige points for your character, which will help them rank up faster than before. However, there may be special rewards if it is a site mission created by the admin of the site. It could be a weapon, or new ability, depending on the terms and event. Those who NPC [Control Non playable characters that may be important for mission completion] will receive half the amount of total prestige points for their participation. Meaning if the total points for the topic was 100 prestige points, then the player who NPC'd for the mission will get 50 prestige points of their own. So do not hesitate to offer your services if someone needs an NPC for a mission. Once you are done with a mission, turn the topic in in the prestige area for it to get graded and for you to get the points for it. Only one character in a mission at a time. You cannot be in two mission topics at the same time, with one character.

Mission Template:

Code:
[b]Mission Name:[/b]
[b]Number of Contestants:[/b]
[b]Location:[/b]
[b]Objective:[/b]
[b]Reward:[/b]
[b]Details:[/b]
[b]NPCs:[/b]

The mission template is simple, but I'll walk you through it just to be sure.

Mission Name - The name of your Mission. The topic title should usually be this aswell. It's how your mission will stand out from others.

Number of Contestants - How many people allowed to join the mission.

Location - Does this mission take place anywhere specific? Somewhere like New York or DC?

Objective - A quick one line summary of the mission. Is it a protect and serve mission? A destroy all mission? Keep it short.

Reward - The prestige reward for a successful completion. Member made missions can only have an reward as much as 30 prestige high. Any higher will need mod approval to make sure the payment is adequate for the mission's goal and risks.

Details - A detailed description of the mission. Everything that needs to be known should be put here. Leave nothing out so it is clear and easy to follow.

NPCs - If there are any NPCs for the mission, give a brief name of the NPC and a description. If they have any abilities or powers, make this known aswell. This is for the person who may be using this NPC for you during the mission. They need to know everything about the character they're portraying. You can use pictures to give a good view of what the character looks like. If he does have an ability, try to be as descriptive as possible. If you must, use the site template for abilities to showcase it.

So for example:

Mission Name: Stop Hygiene Man
Number of Contestants: 1
Location: New York
Objective: Find and Destroy
Reward: 25 Prestige
Details: Recently there's been a new "super villain" roaming around New York with nothing but a trench coat on. He's been harrassing people with his bad hygiene and nasty habits. See to it that you find him, and get rid of him for good.
NPCs:
Hygiene Man - A pale skinned man who stands at the height of 5'0 and weighs approximately 140 pounds. His attire consist of a brown over sized trench coat with nothing else. His hair is black and his eye color is a dark shade of yellow. The Man's ability consists of bad hygiene, being able to generate rancid smells at a 10 meter radius around himself that can drive anyone crazy within its vicinity.

How to decide on the amount of the reward?

For basic missions, the reward prestige amount will be 30 prestige, no questions asked. For this amount to grow, there needs to be some risk involved with the mission. For example, if you put a time limit on your mission to complete it or auto-fail, then the prestige will boost to 40 prestige. If you're put against other PCs that want to see you fail to get the prestige themselves, such as you're protecting someone and they must kill that person, the prestige would boost to 40 aswell. The highest the prestige can go for member created missions is 50, and these missions are very dangerous. These missions are when the odds are stacked high against you, and death is extremely possible to occur.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me for clarification on anything not specific. Please bring it to my attention, and I will be sure to fix any problems.

Introducing Team Missions

Hero for Hire the company that gives various missions to those willing to take them now offers Team missions. Team missions differ from normal missions in that they are geared more towards Factions and give very little personal prestige. They are structured a little different than normal missions but will help factions speed up the process of getting bases and base defenses. Normally it would be full individual prestige and 10% of a characters total would go towards the factions they belonged to. In faction missions it is the reverse. You will receive all your prestige towards your faction total and 10% towards individual characters. You can have more than one faction involved in any given mission however at least 2 members of each faction must be present. Yes, that means to make a faction mission 2 member of the faction must be involved.

Team Mission Template

Code:
[b]Team Mission Name:[/b]
[b]Number of Contestants(2 minimum):[/b]
[b]Number of Factions allowed:[/b]
[b]Location:[/b]
[b]Objective:[/b]
[b]Reward(Max 30 unless staff approved):[/b]
[b]Details:[/b]
[b]NPCs:[/b]

When signing up please list your faction also. If the max number of factions has been reached please do not attempt to sign up for the mission.

Number of contestants should always allow at least 2 members of another faction to join. Factions who are competing for a mission gain a bonus in prestige IF THEY ARE SUCCESSFUL and the opposing faction has more members involved in the mission. The bonus is +15 prestige per rank per extra member over the shorthanded team.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me for clarification on anything not specific. Please bring it to my attention, and I will be sure to fix any problems.
