| Omen Blackthorn
“I would rather you love me, but if not love, fear will do.”
The Biography
|
Birth Name: Omen Blackthorn Aliases: 'Alice Coeur', Semiazas , 'The Blue General' Gender: Female Age: Unknown Birth Date: Undocumented Class: Otherworldly
Appearance:
Easily a natural beauty, the only thing Omen ever adds is eye makeup and lip stick. She stands at a height of 5 feet, 7 inches with a body type that perfectly mixes athletic and curvy; A generous bust line, thin waist, considerable hips, and legs for days. Her skin is creamy and seemingly devoid of any natural marks but a single beauty mark below her bottom lip. Omen has long black hair, reminiscent of ink with blueish highlights, that reaches about halfway down her back. This coloring brings out the soft blue coloring of her eyes. The Blackthorn symbol is branded on to her left hand, a 4 petaled and intricate flower is above her right breast in red ink with a Latin inscription below it, and she has a 'tramp stamp' tattoo made up of a subtly demonic symbol used to mark her as one of them. There is a long, thin scar just below her bust line that has a matching 'exit wound' in the middle of her back. Her style seems to favor Eastern fashion, but she has a certain 'rich' quality to the way she dresses when she's out and about. Personality:
To many, there doesn't seem to be much that can phase a woman like Omen. She never shows any great height of emotion -whether it be in the form of yelling at someone, or crying- unless it is some form of happiness. This isn't to say she's happy all the time, but mostly keeps herself subdued to keep those around her guessing. Contrary to the belief she's always cold and merciless, she feels compassion for even stomping a cockroach with her heel. However, she'd done what needed to be done in killing it, and won't lose sleep over the fact it's already happened. This is how she sees everything. Remorse, regret, maybe even sadness, but her hand will never waver. She may even offer a sad smile as apology she destroys your life.
Omen is quick as a whip, and doesn't suffer fools lightly, but her patience is admirable. She'll do whatever it takes to get something she wants, whether it be through seduction or brute force, regardless of how long she has to wait out whatever is holding her back for the best opportunity. The woman would make an amazing actor, and an ever better thief. Faking things such as friendship, attraction, and even love comes easily to her. Trust and respect were meant to be earned, but it's hard to wrest them away from a woman like Omen. Her affectionate love and loyalty is entirely conditional outside of a few select individuals.

The Capability
|
Specialties:
Main Specialty: Projection Sub Specialty: Physical Prowess
Powers:
Main Power: Demonic Manipulation; The power to create, destroy, and control demons and their demonic energies. Through this power Omen is able to -but is not limited to- call demons from hell itself, force possession and perform ultimate exorcisms, and even create brand new demons from living creatures.
Main Power: Demonic Ice Manipulation; This is the power to create and manipulate demonic ice. It's demonic nature comes out in it's black coloration streaked through with several shades of blue, it's extremely cold temperatures, and invoking incredible burning pain as if it were fire when in close proximity or touching it, though produces frost bite instead of actual burns. This ice can not be melted by natural means, which means if left alone it simply won't melt. Omen herself can't be physically harmed by it.
Main Power: Curse Inducement; A power that allows one to place hexes, curses, or bad luck on people, places, and things. This can be passive, trigger based, or even active at the moment it's placed. Through rituals and spells, she can choose different effects each one will cause and when; The effects vary depending on Omen's mood and expendable power, but usually include bad luck, sickness, infertility, erectile dysfunction, drawing natural disasters, power disruption/malfunctions, causing insanity and other mental problems, or partial/full transformations/deformities. The difference between curses/hexes and traditional magic is that curses either wear off after a certain time or are breakable/detectable.
Main Power: (1/2 Price) Sub Power: (1/2 Price) Sub Power: (1/2 Price)
Flaw #1: Holy Aversion-Bane; Being a demonic creature has it's...downsides. She can't cross on to hallowed ground for one, and doing so causes intense sickness, physical weakness, and loss of her power over the course of 4 posts. Just throwing a bible at her wouldn't be very effective, but holy water or a cross would do the trick instead. Hearing Bible verses or reading them can cause the same effects as crossing on to hallowed ground, as well as eventual unconsciousness on the 5th post. These do not have to be consecutive posts, but all in the same topic. Crosses or other holy objects held in her presence will seem to start generating their own heat, getting hotter the closer they get to her but unable to actually burn anyone but Omen herself. In which case, the size of the object and how long it is held to her skin determines how serious the burn is.
Flaw #2: Salt-Bane; Another factor of her demonic nature, the purification qualities of salt can be used to deter her magic or weaken her. Ingesting salt alone, like the traces amounts found in food, won't really bother her. In greater amounts, she becomes very ill and is overwhelmed with the need to get the salt out of her system. Omen also can not cross an unbroken salt line, and scattering a large amount of salt over one of her creations -such as a ritual circle, or a hex bag- can nullify or weaken it depending on how powerful it originally is.
Abilities:
- Demonic Ice Manipulation:
Name: Spikes Range: 0-10 meters Rank: C Power Type: Main Duration: Instant Power: Demonic Ice Manipulation Description: This is the ability to create long, sharp projectiles -whether in the air or from a surface- from the demonic ice that can vary in size. Whether it's as small as an actual needle, or up to a maximum of 9 feet in length, more than one of these deadly weapons can be made at once. Not only that, but they can even extend from her own body as a defense instead of an offensive projectile. Their creation is instantaneous, and they can be manipulated to be launched at a target with the same speed of an arrow shot from a crossbow. These spikes follow the same rules as the demonic ice in general, along with the deadly capability of their needle shapes.
- Demon Manipulation:
Name: Swarm Range: 0-20 meters Rank: C Power Type: Main Duration: 3 posts Power: Demon Manipulation Description: This is the ability to summon anywhere from 1-30 hellion crows or rats, creatures of demonic origin, to attack a target or spy for Omen. She can control these creatures and telepathically access their minds up to 20 meters from the actual creature. Beyond this range, they are released and return to whatever shadows they crawled out from. They are generally just slightly bigger versions of their natural cousins, and are always black with 3 red eyes. These creatures are very blood thirsty, even without Omen's active control, and will aim to strip the flesh from bones and eat just about anything else in their way. Pain and fear doesn't hinder them, but fatal wounds will cause them to disintegrate. Every bite from these creatures becomes infected without fail.
Skills:
Skill Name: Demonic Chill Emanation Skill Specialty: Projection Skill Range: Up to 10 meters Skill Description: Essentially, this is something like a physical aura -usually unconsciously surfacing-that appears physically outwards from her body and demonic ice as creeping frost. It holds the same effects as her demonic ice in it's original form -causing pain upon contact, and frost bite- and will expand of it's own accord to anything it can touch. This frost also holds a sort of presence on it's own, an incredible sense of foreboding and dread, but does melt on it's own. When it melts, it leaves no water trail.
Skill Name: Kyusho-Jutsu Mastery Skill Specialty: Physical Prowess Skill Range: n/a Skill Description: Omen has mastered the use of hand to hand combat in the form of pressure point manipulation. She's memorized every pressure point found in the human body, and knows how to utilize them through very fast, painful hits like knife jabs to be sure she hits her target and gets the desired effect. It's become it's own style of fighting that centers around speed, dodging, and rapid bursts of physical attacks to focused areas to cause intense pain, loss of use, disorientation, and other effects.

The Background
|
History:
- Spoiler:
From the moment of her birth, Omen was alone. Taken away from her mother, no father to speak of, and her twin brother spirited off to God knows where. The people who took her, they told her about the inevitable separation, but why exactly was never explained. As much as she asked, they would simply change the subject and or act like she was being unreasonable. As a child, Omen didn't take well at all to being ignored like this. Her temperate was a truly fearsome thing, and even at this young age her powers over ice came out with her tantrums. She was a smart girl -an avid studier, a quick learner, and an attentive student- but her rages were inconsolable. Other children, and adults, quickly grew to fear her. After their fear subsided when they realized she never did more than cause a little property damage and frostbite, the fear simply became hate.
Other avoided her, teased her, and Omen retreated in to some place in her mind where these cruel people could not touch her. They didn't matter. They didn't exist. They were nothing to her, just the other kids home schooled because they were freaks. For the longest time, her mind was filled with the fantasy of reuniting her family. Finding her brother, her mother, and father. These people around her now were not her family, they would never be her family, but she had to admit as she got older...that she had a certain obligation. They could simply have killed her at any time, right? Through this, she formed a sort of delicate tolerance and respect. Going so far as to go out of her way for the others, and grudgingly accepting help for her temper problems from one of the few older women she liked who looked after her.
Omen learned to control herself, and her powers, but it didn't seem to be enough. They still hated her, after all she did for them. What was it? Her abilities? Her beauty? What did they have to hate her for? Growing up, there was no one who she would have genuinely called a friend. As an adult, however, that was changed with the appearance of a young man named Dedrick. He worked as part of the staff, doing repairs on the mansion she and her companions lived in. At first, she was curious about the quiet, handsome man. With his blue eyes and nearly white-blond hair, and stunningly white smile. It grew as he treated her...differently from the rest. As if she were a person -with feelings- and not just a bad dog no one had the stomach to put down. If asked at the time, Omen would have said she loved Dedrick. Now? She would say she was merely a love struck child.
Whatever the case, she was enthralled with the young man. Just as he seemed to be with her. The problems with her companions seemed so distant, though their abuse grew worse when they noticed her infatuation. He was even fired from his job, but he still visited. She would find ways to sneak him on to the grounds to visit her whenever he wished. This was the worst mistake she'd ever made. Trusting a man that so many told her not to, practically begged her to leave alone, but Omen had always been stubborn and didn't take their words to heart. The man turned out to be an undercover hunter in the end, entrusted with taking out the prized jewel of the group; Omen. He cared nothing for her, but he needed the perfect moment to kill her. Not just her, but he was going for all of them. Gathering information on their habits, where they went and when, who each was by name, voice, and face. Even their individual abilities.
The night he tried to kill her, she was already at their meeting place waiting. She was worried he was so late, debated going home. Omen never heard the crackle of the leaves, dismissing it as the wind. Nor the sound of the blade being pulled from it's sheath. It was luck that she turned to leave just as he thrust the blade through her. Narrowly missing her heart. He might have lived if he hadn't, and she might never have earned her ticket to resurrection. Omen...simply would not leave this world as she came in to it. Alone. She'd grabbed the blade, and his hand, and dragged him closer. Pushing the blade deeper, fighting against his frantic attempt to withdraw with some otherworldly force she had never had before. Ice sprouted from the blade in her chest, and blossomed outward as she dragged him in to the circle of her arms and it consumed them entirely. All the while, she wished for vengeance. Against the man, against the hunters, and against herself most of all.
Her body was never found by those people, and the ice never melted. The rage that consumed her was nothing fathomable by humans, and came from a place too deep for them to go in the first place. It brought out the true potential of her power, and the attention of the high demon Abraxas. He took pity on her soul, and was impressed at the same time. It was through his favor and petitioning that she was resurrected in the depths of hell. Given a new body, and a new life, so that she may fulfill her wish. The cost of this? Fifty years of torment before she was even allowed to meet the demon, before she'd known why she was there. It hardened Omen, successfully burning the child out of her. Time moves differently in hell, of course, but she had no idea how long she was there in terms of the human world. Regardless, it gave her time to think. By the time Abraxas came for her, Omen met him with a smile. He explained what he had done, and that held the rights to her soul.
For many long years, she was simply his lap dog. From that, she grew in to a formidable guard dog, then body guard. Her power was undeniable and whispered about through the dark halls constantly. Semiazas, they called her. Those who had a sense of humor shortened the strange name to Alice, the lost beauty of hell. Abraxas nurtured her dark spirit with a firm hand, but nearly a loving one. To Omen, this was the closest thing to a father she would ever have. He was the reason she grew so powerful so quickly, and through his persuasion cut a path through hell to higher positions of power. Eventually, she found herself just a step below Abraxas; A General of hell itself, the ruler of the fallen army to be exact. Those who started as human, dragged down just like she had been. No matter how much power she accumulated, Omen was not satisfied. She wanted her revenge.
So, Abraxas told her the secret to reaching the surface. How to crawl out the hole in a physical body instead of becoming nothing but dark energy in their world. She would have to split her power apart, because it would overwhelm her humanoid body to the point of destroying it if she took it all in at once. This is how the Alices were created. In total, there were 4 segments or Alices. The Red Alice, a woman. The Blue Alice, a man. The Green Alice, a young girl, and twins who were the Yellow Alice collectively. Each were a different part of her, though with varying personalities, given physical form and all holding a certain amount of her power. They would join her in the human world, and slowly...she could take her power back from them. Without the ability to disobey her, the Alices play ignorance to their eventual absorption.
When she did crawl out of that hole, she found herself on the old estate. Now abandoned and run down, she walked the halls and basked in the nostalgia of it all with the in awe Alices at her heels. Eventually, she made her way to the place where she'd died. It was surprising to find the scene untouched, and to see herself frozen with the man in her grasp as if it had just happened. With the help of the others, she managed to carry the pair back to the mansion. She dug through all the old secret stashes, through every hidden room and hallway, and started to put her new life together. Omen adapted quickly to the world, forged documents for her identity, and restored the mansion with the money left behind. Piece by piece, from the ground up, everything was coming together for her. Eventually, she even ventured out and started looking for those who fled the mansion in the first place and left the place in the care of demons. In her way however, were the hunters.
This was how she found Amen, but she would not spare a single soul for him or mourn their deaths. They were all forfeit but his. From the moment she saw him, Omen simply knew who he was. That sibling sixth sense that comes with being twins, she supposed. She brought him back to that mansion, taught him the history of their family, but omitted her own personal history. She could never think of a right time to tell him, because what good would it do? Her old body was locked away in the darkest, deepest part of the mansion even he could not reach. That was where it would stay. Forever. Through her digging through the old texts with Amen, Omen discovered another purpose for her life. Reuniting the family, as she had dreamed of as a young girl. The two set out, creating a trail of dead Hunters and united Blackthorns with her as the navigator and magnifier to Amen's massive potential and intent.

| Hello, I rather like your character, however there seems to be a little confusion as to the relation of your flaws. - Omen wrote:

With this condition met, hearing Bible verses or reading them can cause the same effects as crossing on to hallowed ground, as well as eventual unconsciousness on the 5th post. These do not have to be consecutive posts, but all in the same topic. Crosses or other holy objects held in her presence by these people will seem to start generating their own heat, getting hotter the closer they get to her but unable to actually burn anyone but Omen herself. In which case, the strength of one's faith determines whether it's a 1st or 3rd degree burn.
I'm not really sure, but I'm guessing "religion" means a Judo-Christian one, which is fine I suppose. Religion isn't really a "factor" but more of a way of life/thought process. Like someone with a democracy or "hippie" bane. I'd must prefer a "holy" bane. Like the example in the flaw page, such "religious" items work regardless of faith. No one has conditions on silver bullets or UV bullets (Vampires anyone), you shouldn't put conditions like "True believer" or "strength of one's faith" as that really circumvents the spirit (pun) of the flaw system. Flaw #2: Salt-Bane; Another factor of her demonic nature, the purification qualities of salt can be used to deter her magic or weaken her. Ingesting salt alone, less than a teaspoon perhaps, won't really bother her. After this point however, she becomes very ill and is overwhelmed with the need to get the salt out of her system. Omen also can not cross an unbroken salt line, and scattering a large amount of salt over one of her creations -such as a ritual circle, or a hex bag- can nullify or weaken it depending on how powerful it originally is. Having a bane of salt, means like a silver bullet, a salt pellet (al la shotgun) can really do some damage. Each pellet is like the size of a bb or a bit smaller... which makes it less than teaspoon, a full teaspoon of salt compressed can be almost the size of a marble... which travelling fast would be a bullet, old fashion but still a bullet. Which like a silver bullet could kill you or seriously maim you. (Though lucking for you, salt makes a terrible long range bullet ) So, please change that accordingly. | |
