The Heist: Kendrick Got Robbed

It's mid afternoon on a Thursday, the sun high in the blue sky while the clouds dance around lazily. New York was bustling as always as the many civilians carried on their daily lives, concerned only with themselves. Business were booming in this district, mainly the restaurants as it was prime lunch time for the many working folk.

There was a small bank in the district that seemed rather quiet on the inside. Not a teller behind the counter or a sound being made. But the doors were indeed open at this time. Were they out to lunch? No, they were all scattered across the floor. All bank personnel and civilians that had came in for their varying reasons were all lying around on the floor, passed out it seemed.

There was a grey fog of sorts filling out the bank like some kind of haunted house. The eerie silence and the scattered bodies went against the beauty beyond the walls of the bank that would say to the city of New York: "Today is a wonderful day."

There was one conscious person inside the entire bank at this time and she was dressed in all black and wearing a black ski-mask over her head. Her green eyes so vivid that seemed to glow within the haze that set itself within this bank. Her brown and reddish hair laid all behind her, falling down her back as the ski-mask would hold it there. Her mouth was covered by the ski-mask alone, no hole cut out for her supple lips to be seen. She sat perched upon the teller counter, one leg crossed over the other as she leaned back slightly, propped up by one arm while the other held a semi-automatic in her lap. Her posture so seductive that you would think she was modeling for a magazine at such a time but no this vixen was obviously the one running this show.

Sirens began to emerge from a distance as police cars began to race down the streets, disrupting the serenity of the day with their shrill. The silent alarm of the bank had been triggered. It wasn't by a teller however but by the vixen in black herself.

So what was this siege all about? It was a call to arms, that's what it was. The vixen being none other than Victoria Valkyrie, taking it upon herself to draw someone out. Using information she had been collecting over the years about her target in mind, she finally had a chance to act. All she had to do was wait.

The sound of screeching tires could easily be heard from inside the bank by Victoria as the police cars came to a halt. Victoria would sit upright and using her free hand would reach for the bank phone and make a single phone call. She had all of this planned well ahead before and knew exactly who would be coming in to put a stop to this "crime".

As the police would emerge from their cars, the leading officer's phone would ring.

"Anyone of law enforcement that gets within 20 meters of this bank, I will kill every single person in here. If you want a count, there are 40 people inside. 40 lives I have control over and can easily end. If you stay away for now, nothing bad will happen to them and this will all be over soon. That's my only demand. Don't call back."

Victoria would hang up the phone and let out a little sigh as she would return to her original position, watching the only entrance of the bank through the haze. She was now just waiting on someone to play the hero. She had a good idea who.

This day was a weird one. Lone Star hadn't really had any time to introduce his sister to the battle side of his operations but she was well aware of what he did. Introducing her into his style of work was going to be different. She was famous for random acts of kindness but what Lone Star did was a lot more serious. What he did had global outcomes and peoples lives were on the line.. But something just felt different about today. This is why he left Kimberly home. He didn't want his sidekick to get the brash of this feeling he got.

"Lightyear plugged in and ready to go Lone Star can you hear me?" said Jacob into Lone Star's interface. The hero nodded his head responding "Loud and clear Lightyear whats your story?" said Lone Star as he cruised down the street on the Red Phantom motorcycle created for him by Lightyear himself. "Hostage situation downtown expect a group this doesn't seem like a single." Lone Star continued to ride as he spoke "Copy, I'll post up on the building southeast of the bank, Hopefully that will give me the perfect angle I need to get Fortune inside." said Lone Star as he swerved through traffic. "Who?..." said Lightyear which warranted a chuckle from Lone Star "That is Leona's name I think.. I know we'll have to fix that." said Lone Star as he almost reached his destination "I'll pull up the camera feed from inside the bank, You focus on getting in position. Where is Fortune?" "On her way, Give her a second she should be here by the time I set up on the roof" said Lone Star as he brought his bike to a screeching halt causing Lightyear to speak once more "LONE STAR....The cops received a call from the bank robber.. It's one person... Do not engage this person." said Lightyear. "Gotcha Lightyear, Star out"

With that done Lone Star parked the Phantom cycle before he made his way to the roof of the building and now the waiting game begun.. "Fortune you're up"

With a simple yawn and an arm stretch, a handsome young man stepped out of a plain black car with no plate and no definitive markings, and would make his way towards the number of police men that were staying fairly far away from the actual bank that was currently under control of a random person with powers. The man in the sterile white lab coat seemed to be slightly bored, but that wasn't the case. He was actually really excited about this, as he heard some sort of super he hadn't seen before grabbed a bank. One of his spies intercepted a call from the person to the police outside, saying that she only had the demand that the police didn't step within a certain perimeter of the bank. The man walked over to the apparent leader of this, who was clutching a phone that was obviously tied to inside of the bank, but he dared not call it, since the person inside managed to hold the entire bank herself, even past the guards, and Grimshaw wondered why Hammer hadn't simply upgraded the defenses of the town. Still, he was there, and he was taking a break from his lab for a moment to get some more field work done in. He knew that experience trumped knowledge in most cases, and so he liked taking trips out of his lab, making him a well rounded scientist and person.

The weather seemed too nice for something like this to happen, and Grimshaw decided to analyze the situation. The police were too frightened to go in there, and she didn't seem like some serial killer, but she seemed like she had some sort of plan of action. Without the police getting near her for a while, she would have ample time to complete whatever she was doing in the bank. Grimshaw quickly ran through the numbers, and wondered why she picked such a busy bank. She obviously didn't simply want money, because there were bigger banks, and ones that wouldn't attract as much unwanted attention. The person inside chose a bank that frequently had lots of people going in and out of it, but he wondered why. A normal bank robber wouldn't want this much publicity, which made Grimshaw think that she was up to something else. Forty hostages seemed like some sort of message to someone else, or maybe a challenge. It seemed like it would be some sort of challenge, when Grimshaw suddenly got a buzz on his phone, telling him to look at the roof of the bank. Having a spy network watching New York was definitely a perk of being him, if nothing else than to have anonymous and expendable people to risk themselves looking for things out of the ordinary. Grimshaw glanced towards the roof, making sure not to show his gaze to the officers, who just now started to look at him as if he was a civilian, but then walked away once they saw his badge.

He didn't recognize the person that was making his way onto the roof, but he might be some sort of vigilante. He didn't really read up on the history of his organization, because he was simply using it to further his experiments, but if he had, he would probably recognize the person, perhaps if he could get a closer view, regardless, he didn't know nor care who he was. The important thing was to watch this spectacle, and he secretly hoped that it spilled out of the bank or blew out some of the windows so he could get a better view. He would also like to examine the aftermath as well.

Victoria sat on the counter, swinging her feet as she attempted to wait patiently for her target to arrive. She had some pieces in place but were they going to be enough to get a response from him? The police were outside, following her directions and most likely gathering attention as she wanted.

"Wake up..." Her voice would seem to echo within the confines of the bank alone, in a hypnotic whisper that would grace the ears of only the sleeping civilians on bank floor.

The bodies would lazily rise to their feet and turn in the direction of Victoria as she sat before them like some queen. Victoria would look at three of the people closest to her as they saw through the slight haze and gazed at her green eyes as they would change into a deep black abyss.

A few seconds would past and the three would turn and march their way out of the front doors of the bank, taking most of their audience by surprise. There was male, standing between two females.

"Bring us Lone Star!" The male would shout loud and demandingly. The crowd would seem a bit confused and looking amongst themselves, especially the police. There was a brief silence it would seem before the three civilians outside of the bank entrance would erupt into the shrillest of shrieks that would seem to never end. Their faces would twist in pain and agony as they scratched at their entire bodies all over.

Inside the remaining hostages simply stood within the haze, motionless and facing the entrance while behind them, still on the counter, the masked Victoria sat perched.

Out of the bank would come three hostages it seemed.. Why were three let go? Were demands made... Lone Star felt funny about this. One of them a male to be exact would scream out loudly they wanted Lone Star. One of two things could be happening right now, That man was scared shitless and acting on behalf of the robber or he was being controlled. Either didn't really sound to good to Lone Star.

Under his helmet the hero was squinting his eyes. This situation rubbed him wrong. He was potentially dealing with a telapath or someone with a lot of guts. Hopefully it was the latter. A telepath roaming the streets was never a good thing, Especially if said telepath had a bone to pick with Lone Star. Long ago Lone Star learned the dangers of people seeking him. Prime example being Jesteria. She blew up half of New Jersey just to draw Lone Star out. "Light year...." said Lone Star with a very confused voice "Yea Star, I heard that too.. And with the footage this person man.. They look scary. With all the smoke and stuff in the room its hard to make them out but be careful. Anyone doing this for your attention has a few screws loose" said Jacob "Copy, I'm going in."

Using his jet boosters Lone Star took flight off the roof and proceeded towards the back entrance of this bank. Once there he came pulled his bow out snapping it forward and quickly shooting 3 arrows into the steel plates on the side causing it to break and the open the door leaving one plate intact so the dooror wouldn't fall and make a lot of noise, That didn't really happen. Lone Star actually shot an arrow at the wall and it exploded causing a hole in the wall to spawn . Now in the bank Lone Star with his bow in his left hand with an arrow in his right pulled back ready to fire off on any opposition who sprung at this moment. He reached the main room where the smoke thickened most and he couldn't exactly tell what this was until he looked for a good second, Mindless people all around him in the smoke and the people outside who started scratching and screaming, "The Agent of Death... Toxic" said Lone Star as he lowered his bow and slowly returned his arrow to his quiver. "Vic... You're alive...." said Lone Star once more as he wasn't sure what to make of his bestfriends actions. There wasn't any actual visual on Victoria but this was her M.O Lone Star knew it all to well.

An explosion at the south wall of the bank would quickly get Victoria's attention. However she did not react in the same surprise the majority of her "pawns" would. The civilian hostages would all jump in shock from the blast, that would harm no one, and be released from Victoria's control at her will. They would all look around at one another through the haze in confusion. Seeing now that there were two exits available and a savior to their rescue, they would all scatter in either direction and leave the bank. This did not bother Victoria, because the sound of his voice meant she got what she wanted. Lone Star was here.

Victoria would turn her head, looking over her shoulder casually toward the hole in the wall which Lone Star stood in front of. She couldn't see his face due to a helmet he was wearing and the haze but she knew his voice. She would attempt to establish a relay to his mind and communicate but there was interference on that front. Her green eyes would narrow as they stared out from the eye holes of her black ski mask.

Victoria would let out a slight sigh as she would slide off the counter and stand on the floor. Her slow footsteps would seem to echo in the silence of the now empty bank. It was just her and Lone Star. She would walk till she was about 5 meters in front of Lone Star, stopping there and putting a hand on her hip while resting the semi-automatic against her shoulder. At this distance, through the haze, she could make out Lone Star's shape and features. After all, the haze was beginning to clear with the new ventilation being presented via the whole in the wall.

"Am I supposed to be dead....Little Arrow?" she would ask. Her voice as smooth and gentle as ever, the voice of a siren. But anyone that knew her, she was everything but gentle when it came down to it.

Victoria would aim the semi-automatic at Lone Star and open fire, without warning or hesitation. The bullets would fly toward Lone Star's legs and around his footing at first but gradually would rise higher with aim to his upper body. Victoria's aim with any weapon was to be feared and being her former teammate, she hoped Lone Star remembered. Victoria wasn't intent on killing Lone Star, at least not yet, so she aimed for everything but vitals. Which most likely would be the least armored part of his outfit she would assume. Victoria would shoot the gun until her clip emptied, keeping Lone Star in her sights with every released shot.

Lone Star planned on making this a short trip. He couldn't count on his sister who seemed to just vanish and that is exactly what he needed right now. As Lone Star made his way forward from his explosive, pun intended entrance he noticed people scrambling towards his direction and running towards the hole in the wall he created. Lone Star didn't have time to deal with this. He just moved through each person pushing pass keeping a serious face. This was no time to panic. If anything Lone Star probably let the suspected criminal escape with this group. Given their jetting out of the door he didn't get to scan them all one by one facially.

The further Lone Star advanced into the bank the more he could see. This entrance he created basically began vacumming the smoke out... But it wasn't regular smoke was it? Who knew.. Lone Star didn't for sure. But nonetheless things were still pretty foggy in here. As he reached what appeared to be the main room Lone Star spoke his peace (Read Previous Post) and put his bow and arrow away. He didn't really know what to make of this... His former partner. Someone he thought was dead was alive and she was robbing a bank? Or drawing him out. Either or they didn't really make any sense to Lone Star. As he heard Victoria release a sigh and slide off the table she began walking towards him. Each step echoing throughout the room causing Lone Star to just stand there lost in awe didn't even take a fighting stance. Arms just hanging down he was loose.

With each step she grew closer her shape could be made out until she was about 5meters in front of Lone Star. Right hand weilding a pistol while her left hand remained on her hip. Lone Star was really shocked. I mean not that Vic was alive. She was a survivor probably more so than he is but the fact this is her means of drawing Lone Star out. She was known to do anything to get the job done but in such a public place like this? She would look at Lone Star and ask him if she was suppose to be dead and she called him Little Arrow. It has been a long time since he has heard that name used in reference to him. Still baring a stern face under his helmet Lone Star planned on responding.

"You weren't suppose to be dead Victoria... It's just that I thought you did. S.H.I.E.L.D went dark for awhile. You weren't there.. No word from you. I looked for you.. Nothing. Where have you been?" said Lone Star. He was confused.

Quickly and swiftly Victoria would aim her gun towards Lone Star's feet and began firing off with the first bullet actually hitting Lone Star in the ankle. Tho that wouldn't really kill him it would hurt. His ankle felt twisted. He began throbbing in pain as he forced himself to jump back as he was shot in the mid section. Quickly as the bullet hit Lone Star would roll behind a counter still partially visible Lone Star began to breathe a bit heavier as his ankle and chest was aching. Victoria was coming for him in a hard way.

The clip was now empty.  Victoria would sigh as she would simply drop the gun from her hand.  Not even caring to even toss it, let it go from her grasp.

"You have some nerve..." Victoria would say.  How could he ask her where she has been when he's the one that left?  He was looking for her, yet she has been spending most of her time searching for him?  Victoria was a bit annoyed by his words.

Victoria would stretch her right arm out to her side and make a fist.  A pulse of energy would extend from her fist into the form of a quarterstaff made of red, pulsating energy.  Victoria would then twirl the staff in her hand, at her side as she stared toward the island counter to her right.  This was where Lonestar had rolled to after her shooting and he was still partially visible to her.  

Victoria would dash for Lonestar's position, still twirling the staff with great speed.  Once within a meter of his currently crouched position, Victoria would swing one end of her constructed weapon for his helmet with great force and ferocity.

Sitting there crouched behind the counter Lone Star knew this could only play out one of two ways. Victoria let him leave on a stretcher or in handcuffs. Neither of those choices sat well with Lone Star. He had to make an option 3. Take Victoria in himself. Not to the police nor to SHIELD but to Star Headquarters. This wasn't the women he had known. She retained the anger of Victoria but she didn't have the suaveness that made her Victoria. The swagger with the walk. The chilling but calm tone in her voice. It wasn't there.

She'd began walking over to Lone Star each step she took clacked against the floor and you could hear her coming with such velocity it wasn't even funny. As Lone Star turned back a moment to see her approach he noticed a staff in her hand which seemed to be formed out of her natural energy. "Same old tricks" said Lone Star. Quickly nearly instantly Lone Star put his arms up in a x formation to block the staff attack attempt and swiftly after that he'd spring into a leg sweep in order unbalance Victoria. "Just like old times. Training on base? Remember our first mission?" said Lone Star who was trying to get Victoria to stop her nonsense.

Victoria swung the staff and it was blocked, not surprising. She would allow the staff to disperse immediately upon the failed attack. She could see that Lone Star was wasting no time in his counter attack. As he spun to sweep her legs with a kick, Victoria would leap forward into Lone Star. Pushing forward off the ground quickly so that she may jump over his kick and power her way forward with a kick of her own to his head in the same movement. Her intention to connect as he turned. If blocked again, she would just throw her body weight onto him.

"Of course." she would say in response as she leaped forward. While doing so, a purple cloud would rush out from all over Victoria's person and cover a 7 meter radius in what would seem like an instant. Seeing through it would be difficult and most likely would leave its residue on everything.

Victoria was just starting. Did Lone Star forget?
