The Daily Bugle

Senator Hines has revealed how mutants will be handled: Sentinels.

A rumor traveled the circles of the supernatural. Mutants heard a safe, underground railroad was being started, inquire at the Summit. The beyond sought the strange power said to rest at the Summit of New York City. The gossip flitted amongst the rest: valuable information was to come to light when dawn broke over the Summit.

A Hero's Call - Open Empty
PostSubject: A Hero's Call - Open   A Hero's Call - Open EmptyTue Dec 25, 2012 5:53 pm

“There you are!” It had been sometime after his first challenge. The challenge of becoming a “hero” had begun just a month ago, and he was having a few, eh… problems. First off, trying to explain to his mother where he’d been going at all hours of the night as hectic in itself. The dangerous game of keeping her safe was extremely hard due to his mother’s usual prying. Luckily he’s also out of high school now, and had graduated. But, with all the troubles that came to him through all this “wackiness” it became apparent that he needed to toughen his mind as well as his body.

“I got you now, dude… give that woman back her s***!” This man was running, towards a goal of regaining a woman’s private possessions from her purse due to a snatcher. The worse thing was that he wasn’t in his costume. There wasn’t any time to change at the pace this guy was going. But he could do something else; act as though he was someone else. His breath released quickly, his years of roadwork and training allowed him to have “lungs of steel” in these situations. He could run for minutes on end at this same pace just as he could fight in the ring.

The robber’s eyes came back towards him, as he aimed his eyes towards the nearest obstacle he could find, a nearby cart, flipping it over with a quick stop and grab. The iron smashed into the ground, from the local market it’d seemed. “S***, just make it easy on yourself!” Fruits and other contents spilling all over as a woman gasped as the robber pushed against her to dodge the assault of Jack himself. Jack agilely leaped over the death trap and patted his hands to the ground to keep him up after almost slipping from a liquid spill. The robber began to turn however, taking a twist into a nearby ally, because alley ways were narrow and had a great deal of discarded items it was easily to get away within them.

Jackson didn’t stop though, as the robber found his path through it all, he’d throw some trash bags he’d picked up and garbage cans forward. Jackson had to think quickly. As such, using his great agility he made a great leap onto the wall kicking off it after running along it with great skill. One of the many perks of training in free-running was that skill. However, the robber had begun his own ascent as he grasped onto a fire escape ladder. Jackson was over the trashcan but the robber climbed quickly digging deep in order to escape from his captor. Once more the young hero leaped over his obstacle, but the captor was already half way up the ladder by the time he’d gotten to him. Jackson himself started to climb up as well. The robber taking no chances threw down the nearest thing he could find up the fire escape from clothes to pots.

With this, Jackson had dodged the pots with one hand holding the ladder taking a hit from the second pot thrown; it was a struggle as he almost kicked himself away from the ladder due to this obstruction and hung from the ladder with his eyes closed. “See you later, mother****er!” Jackson sucked his teeth, took a deep gritting motion and kicked back into the latter while the robber continued to climb. What could be done, he was so far away, and he couldn’t let him escape. Up he climbed as he watched the man bust open a window and enter through it. He’d heard a scream from the room. Finally, he picked up the pace.

Once more, he had to run, this time through the house. “Excuse me, coming through!” Said to the individuals within the room; they watched in shock at what they were seeing. As he went through the door he’d heard a crash and bang. Running through the hallway he couldn’t take chances and made his way down the stairs quickly, but there wasn’t enough time, and by the third floor from the five floor building, he leaped off the rails and towards the robber in which he’d crashed into him smashing through a wall on his way down. This caused one hell of a headache, he had grumbled as he took to the robber who’d struggled to stand after such a thing. “I told you…” Jackson gasped inwardly, exhausted and sweating. “I was going to catch ya.” Grabbing the purse he would start to move towards the door, his arm was cut from small chippings and his body was sore from the leap but at least he did it.

As he slowly left the apartment building, the tips of his fingers went across his eyes as the drop had caused him to sway back and forth due to the great deal of what would be considered a headache. To say it felt horrible was an understatement considering where he fell and after going through a wall it only hurt more to think. No less was he bleeding for what he’d done, and it wasn’t the smartest thing but to catch a crook sometimes you had to do things unorthodox. After a while of walking, he’d heard the sirens of police coming from where he’d just left. Was that man still down, well a tackle from Jackson wasn’t one to be toyed with at least for normal humans him being a boxer and all allowed him an athletic and powerful physique to say the least.

Spoiler:

Coming up to the woman who’d been sitting against the ground, he placed the purse by her side and smiled. Her eyes took a short look up to him. She would see he was bleeding from his shoulder and the mess made on his shirt and pants from the dust. It was a surprise that he’d go to such lengths to save her bag. “I-I’m sorry that you had to do that, are you hurt badly?” A guilty voice, she seemed to be very saddened by the spectacle shown today, however, Jackson made a large smile. “I’ll live, no worries, it’s free of charge…” He started to walk away from her as the woman took her eyes away from him for a moment as he walked away.

She smiled deeply, and stopped him with a press of her hand. “No, please accept this.” Placing her chest on his hand, he was given a fifty dollar bill. His eyes looked up to her in shock. “No really, it’s ok you don’t gotta…” Her head wavered. “Just take it.” A wave of silence came over Jackson, breathing inwardly full and then outwardly with a gasp. “Thank you, ma’am… I didn’t do it for this prize; I just thought that it was bull that no one would help a lady with her stolen purse…” He turned his back to her walking away, placing the fifty dollar bill in his pocket as it scrounged inwardly he sighed once more. “Gonna be feeling this tomorrow.” He pressed his hand against his shoulder, and sighed taking his hand off of it for a moment before taking out his cell phone, his eyes shadowed in despair. There was a large crack in the screen. “Oh… great… moms gonna kill me…” He would only lament walking down the sidewalk with his head down.

A Hero's Call - Open Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Hero's Call - Open   A Hero's Call - Open EmptyThu Dec 27, 2012 2:00 am

It must have been hours that he had been wandering around the foreign city, tracking down a place that no longer seemed to even exist. He had given up finding the building, and just stuck to searching for woman with vibrant red hair and short stature. Seemed like there were too many of them to be possible in New York; Well, there were too many people in general here. Down south everything was spaced out and easier to find, even the people. And...they were all infinitely more helpful then these horrid busybodies with no time for directions. Most of the people he tried to pull aside and ask gave him either dirty and/or fearful looks, and walked or ran angrily and/or dismissively away. Well, some of those people might of thought that he was a mutant due to his unusually bright coloring, but it wasn't like he was trying to breath fire all over them or eat their faces. White hair and red eyes used to just be seen as a birth defect, and that was originally what he was born as....about 400 plus years ago, granted, but he looked like a 20 year old albino. One that knew how to take care of his body.

As if the thought had drawn his attention, Kurosei suddenly stepped into his view with that sound of static in his ears. Ginsei didn't react, knowing no one else would see him, and that he would find out why he was there in a moment anyway. Walking down a street talking to yourself wasn't helpful, especially given the earlier points made. That was just asking to have someone call special forces down on his head. The slightly static image of his darker colored twin brother drifting around the bodies of people, expertly avoiding touching them as he made faces at the unsuspecting and ignorant. He was doing a good job of watching him without watching him up until the point where he ran headfirst into a woman. She yelled something angry and foreign in his face, and pushed him threateningly backwards before she hustled past. Scowling, he rubbed where she touched him like she had left a dirty hand print. She would have been fined for that back in his time; Turned into a prostitute until she could pay it off. Not that he would have reported her, but all these male witnesses would have demanded the police arrest the unruly woman, and with her speaking a language they wouldn't have known, she couldn't defend her reasons or fight for a lower sentence. Hell, she wouldn't even get a chance otherwise. Kurosei's form slid up next to him, watching after the woman as he chuckled. "Hot little thing. I wonder if she has that much fire in the bedroom. God, it's been years since I've had a good lay." Ginsei turned abrubtly to continue walking up the street. The crowds were thinning out seeing as it would be dark soon, yet he still had to pay more attention to where he was going.

Kurosei was suddenly in front of him again, and stepped to the side to avoid being turned into formless static. "I imagine angels don't get laid, but you never tried that pretty red head out around the track once you got let out the front gate. What held you back? You don't have to worry about sins. Daddy-Upstairs already dropped you like a hot plate. He doesn't intend to send you to my house any time soon either." When this didn't receive any reaction, Kurosei sighed and continued to make his weird faces at the unsuspecting people until he stopped next to some stairs and a crying woman. "Here. How about this one. I'm sure you can bad a depressed chick at least. Just flash her your-" Whatever he was going to say was cut off by a young man who had walked up next to the woman, and Ginsei stopped just a bit away to watch the small scene. An act of kindness. The first he had seen since coming to this city. He had waited until their exchange was over, shooting a dirty look as Kurosei made a rude gesture behind the woman's head.

Kurosei walked in the boy's path as he neared now, promptly disappearing in a fizz of black static. Ginsei, alone now, walked towards the lad with one of his award winning warm smiles. The inviting aura he had been holding back all night surrounding him in his happiness of the prospect of maybe finding some help. He stepped in the boy's path after he mentioned his mom going to kill him, and Ginsei glanced at the broken screen of the phone. "Excuse me. I saw you return that woman's purse, that was a really kind thing to do. Maybe you could help me next, and I could fix that phone for you?" Taking a slightly softer expression, he added with a chuckle, "Maybe I can fix up some of those wounds too."

A Hero's Call - Open Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Hero's Call - Open   A Hero's Call - Open EmptyThu Dec 27, 2012 6:52 pm

The streets were littered with cars and people talking, it was something he had been with all his life. Urban life was one of a senseless form as could be seen by most things. It had its own rules and regulation of life after all though it wasn’t nearly as horrible where he used to live. Luckily his mother also got out of it otherwise he’d have said no as soon as she sent him away. He couldn’t have allowed her to live by herself otherwise he couldn’t call himself a man. He scratched the back of his head before placing his arms against his head and then stretched closing his eyes. He stopped in front of a store window and gestured taking his time to look at the phone once more.

"Excuse me. I saw you return that woman's purse, that was a really kind thing to do. Maybe you could help me next, and I could fix that phone for you?"

“W-what?” It was a curious sight to be sure, some random guy was now in front of him, and he didn’t even feel as if anyone was in his space after what had been pulled. How did he get into his path so quickly, was something wrong with Jack’s senses? “How did y- Wait, you can fix my what?” It seemed a bit too good to be true now, Jackson’s eyes dropped a bit along with his mouth, as a bit of shine came on his glasses. “Fix my phone, how are you going to do that, my screens shot to all hell.” It was a serious tone, as he tapped his finger against the screen thrice.

"Maybe I can fix up some of those wounds too."

Now he knew something had to be up, a honking horn on the side of the road made Jackson a bit on edge as he moved his eyes towards the man’s… he couldn’t really see through what he was trying to do. But those street smarts he learned told him to never trust something that was too good to be true. Jackson began a sarcastic laugh and crossed his arms before sighing. “So you can fix my wounds and my phone, are you also going to fix my rent bill too, or is that too much ‘kindness’?” It was literally a great deal of more sarcasm in his tone than the laugh. It was because he knew better than to trust others so quickly.

“Look, dude… whatever you’re selling I’m not gonna buy. Got enough problems to worry about you know.” With that, he made a gesture to leave with his phone going into his pockets as he’d took his eyes back to the stranger. ‘What is that guys deal… just randomly watching over me and seeing I did a ‘kind act’, I know that’s a load of crap…’ His mind told him what he thought, the strange thing was he seemed sincere but it was a deep-seated mentality to trust no one that led his progression. He got tricked in school a lot into fighting, being bullied and around his home. So he couldn’t trust anyone. It was that serious to him. Either way he strolled forward with both hands moving into his pockets.

A Hero's Call - Open Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Hero's Call - Open   A Hero's Call - Open EmptyThu Dec 27, 2012 8:34 pm

The boy obviously didn't believe him, and he didn't really blame him to be honest. A random 6 foot stranger with chiseled looks in dark casual wear and white hair. Sketchy to the max, but Ginsei couldn't help but feel a little hurt at the way he was being dismissed as a common salesman. Maybe he hadn't completely grown out of that ignorance that his nature left him. He stood there quietly as the boy went on, and Kurosei was suddenly stepping out of the brick wall with a chuckle. "The little brat doesn't have an imagination. None of these pathetic humans do. Can you believe we were once so silly, brother?" Ignoring the faltering image of his twin, he tried for another sincere smile and was about to speak when the boy turned to leave. With a small frustrated sound, he started walking after him. "Wait, just let me explain! I'm not selling anything, I'm a..tourist looking for my friend's house. I'm lost."

He trotted up next to the boy who had been walking away, and put his hands up to show he didn't mean it as a threatening action. What would the best way to explain it be without scaring him away? "My name is Ginsei, I was a doctor of sorts. I know how to patch you up and save you a trip to the emergency room. I just need help finding my friend's apartment." Straightening up, he held out one of his hands hoping the boy would recognize the friendly gesture and take it. He certainly looked like a tourist, with slightly slanted Japanese eyes and a slightly accented voice. It would be easy to see him as a Japanese-American mix. With his other hand, he fished a sleek black touch screen phone from his pocket, and offered it up. "If you don't trust me, I'll let you hold on to my phone while I fix yours. I just don't think you should have to spend money to get a brand new one, it's just a little cracking in the screen." His dark haired twin was suddenly leaning over his shoulder, almost touching his cheek as he spoke quietly, "Why are you offering to help the little bastard? He'll probably just take yours instead. If he's not attracted to you, he's probably scared of you."

A small line set in his forehead, but his smile didn't falter. If the boy would accept his hand, and the phone, and give him the broken one instead he would pull a small fine point Sharpie marker from a breast pocket and turn to face the brick wall while he drew an arcane circle across the cracked surface. He would mutter something as he seemed to rub away the black circle leaving the screen clean and unscathed.* Such a small transformation would be absolutely nothing in terms of energy, and he would simply give the now clean phone right back to the boy with a smile. However, if the boy was determined not to hand over his own phone, then Ginsei would simply repocket his sleek black phone and frown dejectedly.

"Wait, just let me explain! I'm not selling anything; I'm a.tourist looking for my friend's house. I'm lost."

Right and was this guy really fooling anyone, did he think that Jackson was so stupid to believe his words. As he began to follow him, Jackson’s fists began to clench taking one last step before he sighed. “Look, dude, I don’t know who you are or where you’re from but you don’t just go up to a person and say you’re gonna help them as if you deserve to be trusted, I ain’t built like that and then you start sprouting shit like you can fix peoples stuff then you’d be in a lot of trouble and would probably get your ass kicked by some common thugs, guy.” He kept his fists clenched just in case.

"My name is Ginsei, I was a doctor of sorts. I know how to patch you up and save you a trip to the emergency room. I just need help finding my friend's apartment."

“A trip to the emergency room? it’s just a flesh wound I can wrap this when I get to my crib.” This guy seemed to be relentless in his charge. Was he really that desperate in his attempts to fix Jackson’s phone? It seemed to be he was telling the truth. Maybe Jackson should believe him… But he also said he could fix his phone as well and his wounds. Maybe it was a random act of kindness or whatever. Jackson let go of his grip, contemplating whether to punch the man out if he’d gotten close wasn’t in his thoughts now, he’d be a bit friendlier. Considering that he could just fight him off or catch him if he did any funny stuff, except…

"If you don't trust me, I'll let you hold on to my phone while I fix yours. I just don't think you should have to spend money to get a brand new one, it's just a little cracking in the screen."

A look of astonishment came on Jackson’s face before he took his phone for a moment. Once more, something he wasn’t built like came across him. Jackson wasn’t a straight up criminal who would do something such as defy a person’s trust for his own personal gain. He was taught better values then that, it could be a trap or something, and however… he’d at least go for it then. Go for the aspect of doing something as trust this guy. He’d still be cautious, though.

Jackson’s hand pushed forward with both his phone and the male’s phone, casually giving it to him before crossing his arms over his chest. “Now dude, if you’re lying to me, I’m going to punch you out for stealing my shit… so please don’t try to do anything that could get you hurt.” He showed a serious and stern side to that, taking care to keep himself ready. “So you got a kit or something to do this, or do you have some type of friend that can help you?” A large sigh released from his lips as he pushed up his glasses that were once bridging his nose. Either way something told Jackson to trust him in his gut. Something strange would happen in front of Jackson as the phone started to glow a vibrant color, and his screen had began to collect itself to scratches and markings on his phone were gone, even the old ones. "W-whoa? How the f-"

As Jackson took his eyes over the phone looked at it, a bright smile appeared on his face. "It's fixed this... it's like new, how the hell did you do that?" What kind of stuff was this, like magic or something? He didn't even understand what had just happened could this guy be some sort of magician?

A Hero's Call - Open Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Hero's Call - Open   A Hero's Call - Open EmptyThu Dec 27, 2012 9:47 pm

Ginsei stuck the Sharpie back into his breast pocket and made a gesture with his hand for the boy to keep quiet. The first time he showed Talius she hadn't even been that amazed, so why was this kid freaking out? Oh right, 'mutants' had only been on the radar for a little while, and shortly after they were thrown in jail. Well, angels weren't exactly mutants, but fallen angels weren't exactly angels either. Neither was alchemy a gift, just a honed skill he happened to retain the knowledge of. Looking around for a moment, he pressed the renewed phone back in the boy's hand and coughed into his hand. It was mainly to help distract himself from Kurosei as he skipped shirtless in the street singing a provocative Irish pub song about large breasted, red haired woman. "I'd appreciate if you kept this our little secret. A lot of humans used to be able to do that back in the Midevil times, but when everyone found easier ways to do things they just started to forget the art of Alchemy."

Clearing his throat again, he shifted over a few feet to stand in the darkness of the ally they were in front of. His voice lowered a bit. "These days, any kind of difference is frowned upon. Whether it's with good or bad intent." That small warm smile was on his lips again, and he slid his hand into the side of the long black jacket as he fished out a small, neatly folded index card. On it's surface were elegantly scrawled words, spelling out an address and describing nearby buildings. He offered the card to the boy hopefully, "This is the place I'm looking for. The directions are well written, I'm just blind and hopeless in a crowd apparently. She should have supplies at her house, if you'll allow me to look at you when we get there if you'll show me the way. You don't even have to walk inside if you don't want to." He was trying to be generous in a city that had shown him no love, and hopefully his display of his own sort of trust would sway the boy to show him the way. Surely he had heard about the people who were 'different' being hunted in this city. It was a major hotspot for the event.

A Hero's Call - Open Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Hero's Call - Open   A Hero's Call - Open EmptyThu Dec 27, 2012 10:19 pm

"I'd appreciate if you kept this our little secret. A lot of humans used to be able to do that back in the Medieval times, but when everyone found easier ways to do things they just started to forget the art of Alchemy."

“Alchemy… never heard of that…” Grasping the phone he gave it a thug with his thumb. “Alchemy... alche-“His eyes opened widely in surprise. “Wow, you can use it to create gold.” He crossed his arms scanning through the mixi page as he looked back to him. “An amazing power if I gotta think about it, guess it is pretty cool though that you can create something through using the same materials it’s made from though, good shit.” Jackson would only think about what the powers could really do, only musing to himself that it probably couldn't create gold but it was a legend in the mixipedia, so he'd went along with it. Obviously, if it was such a fantastic power more people would join alchemy. But obviously it only fell by the way side.

"These days, any kind of difference is frowned upon. Whether it's with good or bad intent."

“Guess you’re right on that.” He placed his head down and closed both his eyes remembering the situations where he’d seen people be different and antagonized for it. Didn’t like it too much after all, he was scrapped from the bottom of the barrel from where he was from and people thought he was some type of thug due to his proficiency in cursing though he had protected a great deal of people more than he had ever robbed a soul which he’d never done. “I know the feeling.”

"This is the place I'm looking for. The directions are well written, I'm just blind and hopeless in a crowd apparently. She should have supplies at her house, if you'll allow me to look at you when we get there if you'll show me the way. You don't even have to walk inside if you don't want to."

Jackson’s eyes closed as he thought about what he’d said for a moment. He seemed like a cool guy and he didn’t see anything wrong with him, though this young lad wouldn’t easily fall into some type of crappy trap. He’d help him with his errand though, needing to see a friend was an important thing after all. As his mother said he needed to always return kindness that was returned to him. It was ingrained in his mind and soul deeper than anything. “Right then, follow me I know this place well because I usually do my runs all around this city, parkour and whatnot.” Patting the males shoulder with his hurting arm, he cringed. “Ah, man… that didn’t feel good.” Grasping his wounded shoulder he rubbed it. However, after twisting it forward and backwards he'd sighed outwardly and took the note. "Lets go then."

Beginning to move forward with his hands against the note he’d eyed the words. It seemed strange not to think of what could be the weirdest situation possible? Did this guy not know his own directions? Maybe he wasn’t used to the city life. Jackson knew he couldn’t dwell on such things and had to take most things to a serious level. His face turned stern twisting the note as he looked to the street corner and took his eyes back to the alchemist. “What’s your name, dude… or do you just want to be known as “Stranger”?” He finally got up the gall to ask a question like that, with his sarcastic undertones neatly tucked under those words.

A Hero's Call - Open Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Hero's Call - Open   A Hero's Call - Open EmptyThu Dec 27, 2012 11:40 pm

He watched the boy's reaction, his smile becoming a bit more genuine and wider when he said he knew where the address was. That was the best news he had gotten in years, to be honest. The last piece of really good news was when Kurosei said he understood why they had been turned into mental bunk mates. As if summoned by the thought, the dark twin trotted up from the street with his black sneakers in his hand as if he were walking up from the beach with that sadistic grin on his face. "Yeah, when I told you that we are stuck like this because I got condemned with you. You were actually glad you weren't going crazy, just had a demon stuck inside your brain! Dumbass. I guess it's not as bad as the initiation into Hell, but not having a physical body is painstakingly boring, Ginsei." The dark haired man sat down on the side of the street and started to put on his shoes; Ginsei reminded himself he wasn't supposed to be looking at him and pretended to follow a car moving slowly down the street instead. "Without any woman to rape and villages to pillage, you're my only entertainment! All this ignoring shit is so...agonizing!"

Suddenly the drains on either side of the road began to ooze and overflow with a sluggish black liquid that spilled into the street and mingled around car tires and feet. It was flooding into the side walk, pooling around his feet, but he ignored it and reminded himself that it wasn't real. None of it was real. As he started to walk after the boy, the black blood-like ooze disappeared and his brother reappeared fully clothed next to him. Whistling as he took long gliding steps, elegant even in his nonexistent body. The boy spoke, and Ginsei moved a little faster to be able to walk in stride at his side. He thought for sure he had already said his name. At his side, Kurosei sighed loudly, obviously trying to hold his attention. "Just tell him your name. Not your body's name, but that name Daddydearestupstairs gave you. Azrieeeeel, Azrieeeeeel! My angel of destruction!" The singing was obnoxious, and he would have loved to just yell shut up in that moment. Instead he said, "Ginsei. Just call me Gin if you like."

Those bright red eyes glanced around at the thinning crowd, flickering past empty faces as they bustled past. "Mind if I ask you your name? I don't really want to have to refer to you as 'kid'." If he wanted to get technical, he didn't really look all that much older physically. Just taller and wider in the shoulders with more...dare he say 'angelic' beauty that was hard to pin an age on.

A Hero's Call - Open Empty
PostSubject: Re: A Hero's Call - Open   A Hero's Call - Open EmptyFri Dec 28, 2012 12:08 am

It started to get darker as the day went on, they had been walking for what seemed to be a good amount of minutes and thanks to daylight savings, so it was only three o’ clock and the sun already began to set. His glasses getting a small hint of that shine as he took his eyes to the road. Cars were honking and police cars were making loud noises as they came to an intersection. His hands were still in his pockets taking his eyes towards the lights before he asked the question of who he was.

"Ginsei. Just call me Gin if you like."

“Ginsei, Japanese…” As the light began to flash red, he tapped his shoes front toe into the sidewalk concrete. “You look like an Asian to, don’t see many of those where I’m from, so it’s either good or bad all things considered I hate stereotypes.” The light flashed green now; he began to walk forward as the cars stopped with a squeaking sound, through the white-lined path. “Guessing that’s why you don’t know your way around this city, you’re foreign with that accent and all.” As he began to hurry after a car pushed forward once and the red light blinked once more he gestured to “come on”.

"Mind if I ask you your name? I don't really want to have to refer to you as 'kid'."

“Yeah it’s too bad I’m eighteen and this culture, what amounts to what a man is how many “hoes” you bring to their knees… pretty despicable…” A memory came into his mind about a certain female. His fists started to clench tightly as he’d thought about it. He’d gotten over it after a moment. “Jackson, but you can call me Jack,” He’d sighed as he’d heard a sound from his pocket and took out his phone from his pocket scanning it as it rang. “I gotta take this.” He said as they passed another person. His eyes closed as he pushed his glasses out of his face with his other hand. "Hello?" He asked.

“What’s up, Ma…” It was his mother who had called, doing what she liked to call “mothers intuition, whatever that was. “Yeah, I know… I’m out right now, going to a “friends” house…” His face had begun to scrounge a bit. “No, ma you know I ain’t like that, I ain’t messing with a skank or anything like that and you know this… not since you know who…” His eyes looked right as he said “you know who” in a low voice. Taking his eyes back to Ginsei, Jackson sighed. “Yeah ma, I know and I’ll make sure to eat a lot of vegetables to, you know I keep up with my training so it ain’t a big fuss.” He’d say laughing as he paused. “Right… yeah, I love you too, you just better make sure you take care of yourself and tell Uncle Morris to make sure you don’t go crazy on those cigarettes you know you’re trying to quit.” He nodded. “I love you too… bye.” He clicked the phone off.

He took his eyes back to the “young” alchemist, and sighed deeply. “That was my mama, you know how it is with them, and they got to talk up a storm.” He’d say as he smiled a bit. Afterward he’d stop and take his hands to the piece of paper looking up to the street sign he nodded. “I think this is the place. But you never told me what place they lived at but from what I’m thinking one of these houses?” He asked inquisitively before giving him back to piece of paper. A row of houses were seen in clear view.

Ginsei blinked at him as he spoke, wondering why he thought that he was going to call him a 'kid' because of that, but lost track of his thoughts went he heard his name. Jackson. At least he had gotten a name out of him, and now he could just refer to him as Jack. Maybe Kurosei would pick up the habit along the way somewhere, too. The dark twin had been walking silently, but now he was trotting ahead of the boy and walking down the row of houses determinately. Gin couldn't remember what color and number the house was, but he was confident Kurosei did. While he worked that out, he watched the boy pull out a cell phone and start talking to he was assuming was his mother. The corner of his mouth turned down a bit as he waited patiently for him to finish. They were catching up to his dark counter part, who was sitting down on the dull steps of a dark red house. He was absently running long slender fingers through his thick black hair and singing 'Mary had a little lamb' to the sky.

He looked back at Jack as he spoke, and Ginsei gave him a small sad smile. "I'm not quite sure what you mean actually. Me and my brother only had each other growing up, our mother wasn't around much." The sadness grew a little kinder as his brother flashed him that evil smile, and jumped off the porch to greet them as they walked down the street. Ginsei was in the lead now, showing the boy where to go. He walked up the porch as if he had done it a thousand times, and bent over the metal railing after pulling his black Sharpie from his pocket. He scribbled the arcane circle on the dull metal, and made as if to scratch off a piece of it. Grabbing hold of a piece as if it were thread, he pulled at it until it took shape. By the time he was pulling the second metal piece off, it was obvious he had just created a lock pick set. "I don't want you to get the wrong idea about this. Tally knows I'm going to let myself in, she's somewhere in Washington I think by now. It would be bad if I just opened a whole in her door, so just give me a moment." Kurosei moved up onto the porch next, bending down as Ginsei went to one knee before the door and went to work. "Jiggle it more. Up, left, left, jiggle, down. Up, down, right." The door popped open suddenly, and Ginsei had to smile at the joy on his brother's face as he skipped into the dark interior.

The scent of woodsmoke hit them first, but it was a memory of a scent alone. He pushed the door open more and stepped inside, waving to Jack to follow him as he flicked on a nearby switch. The lights flared to life, revealing a normal looking living room connected to a kitchen. They were facing a hallway that went between these two rooms. In the very back there was a door left open, and the lights glittered on something metal lining the walls. Flashes of knives and odd shaped metal weapons, he realized, were actually scattered around the living room as if they were positioned for convenience. "Ah, sorry. She's ex-military. After she got out due to an injury that damaged her vision, she collected knives for a long time." It wasn't so much a lie as a bent truth, but he wouldn't know the difference. He walked down the hall and pulled the door closed before he stepped into an open bathroom and pulled open the cabinet beneath the sink. He called back at the boy in the other room. "Make yourself at home. She won't mind at all, trust me. Just wipe your shoes first."

"I'm not quite sure what you mean actually. Me and my brother only had each other growing up, our mother wasn't around much."

“I see and here I am talking about my Ma right in front of you… sorry about that then.” It was a bit nerve-racking for him to actually consider himself before he considered those words. What could be called “selfish” and the modesty of it all was non-existent to say the least. He loved his mother, didn’t even leave before she went to a safer place then the hell hole they lived in. Luckily his mother had “good family” and thus she could live with them in a nice suburban home. “Let’s switch the subject then… now where is this hose?”

"I don't want you to get the wrong idea about this. Tally knows I'm going to let myself in, she's somewhere in Washington I think by now. It would be bad if I just opened a whole in her door, so just give me a moment."

So this guy must have either been stupid or thought that he was stupid, why would he actually need something like a piece of metal in order to enter the house when all he’d need was a key. He was going to place his hand against the male’s arm for a moment whether he grabbed him or not was all a part of the reaction. “You know if I get in trouble because of you, I’m not going to let you off “too” easily right?” He was serious, his eyes, his facial expression and his grip/clenched fist showed it all, veins showing from his arms This was all to make sure he got the message of what the terms of the situation were.

He hadn’t lied to him so far, or at least not in a way he could have noticed, but if he was… the fists he had would be going into overdrive in his face right when he found out.. He wouldn’t go easy on him and he’d show him that the fury of his fist was more hellish then prison to be sure. He watched as Ginsei began to unlock the door taking his eyes towards the patio for a moment. He’d slipped his hands over the rail moving against both the metal and the wood for a while as he sighed. “I wish I had a place like this...” He was talking to himself; the sky grew darker as he’d waited for the door to be opened. As the “clank” and the winding of the hinges of the door were heard, his head moved to him. Now he was in the house entering with him he would place his hands into his pockets.

“Your friend seems to be a collector of a lot of dangerous shit, Gin… you sure you should have opened her door without her permission?” He wouldn’t dare touch any of it, he hated the stereotypical black guys stole crap and what not. He really didn’t like it at all. Stupid stereotypes went into this world like garbage flowing through a river. It wasn’t safe.

"Ah, sorry. She's ex-military. After she got out due to an injury that damaged her vision, she collected knives for a long time."

“Ex-military… you know a very peculiar friend then guy… she could kill us in a second I’d bet.” He gestured with a slight chuckle before coughing into a balled fist and sighing deeply. His eyes gazed all around the room for a moment. It was a cool place to be honest; maybe they’re something good about being a military soldier.

"Make yourself at home. She won't mind at all, trust me. Just wipe your shoes first."

His eyes went forward and back through the kitchen as he took his shoes against the “welcome mat” and started to trot forward sitting in the couch with a gasp and sigh. He rubbed his temples closing his eyes; it had been a rough day so far. But at least it wasn’t horrible bad after all the things that happened. “This is a pretty nice place this, “Tally” girl has, she your girlfriend or something?” He coughed outward clearing his throat sitting backwards.
