The Biography
|
Birth Name: Than'aran Yalakyrie Erranvathaar (troublesome to pronounce by humans, so "Kyrie" will have to do) Aliases: None, yet. Gender: Female Age: 23 Birth Date: Unknown Class: Otherworldly
Appearance: Kyrie is a busty young woman standing at an average height of 5 feet and 5 inches. She has straight, rose colored hair that falls all the way down to her tush, with a snow-white patch of hair at her forehead. Her eyes are naturally a light shade of steel gray, but when she activates her powers, they glow a livid blue. She has a small nose and small mouth with pink lips, and a few freckles dot the bridge of her nose and cheeks. The rest of her body frame is slim, but well endowed, and her skin is flawless, without a scar.
Val tends to be a bit fickle in the way of clothing, and cannot be said to favor any particular style of dress. She, however, tends to keep jewelry on her person minimal. The only things that are constantly seen on her are a pair of large, golden, lightning-shaped earrings. During battle, she wears her battle suit.
Her 'battle suit' is shown in the picture below; she usually wears a brown jacket over her shoulders, especially when not in conflict.
- Spoiler:
Personality: Kyrie tends towards being the reserved, withdrawn type. Her normal expression is usually a solemn, thoughtful gaze, and she doesn't really say much, usually. Not being that expressive, it is very difficult to know what is on her mind, and she hardly ever complains, even when she is seriously suffering. She is a bit more open around those she is comfortable with, and will show more emotions in their company.
Kyrie is actually a sweet lady, with a powerful sense of empathy. This enables her to fit easily into the 'big-sister' role. She is quite considerate, gentle and supportive, willing to listen and only giving her advice if she feels it is absolutely necessary or when asked for her opinion. And although she is tactful in dealing with others, she can still be very blunt. She doesn't get angry easily, but the problem comes when she eventually does get angry, because she can be a bit irrational. She also has serious issues with betrayal, and she doesn't forgive traitors easily.
Kyrie tends to shy away from the opposite sex a little, not because she doesn't like them, but because she hardly understands human sexuality, having grown up among her father's people (and she still wonders why males ogle when she has her battle outfit donned). She has an interesting, and often humorous culture-shock issue, and though she's up to speed with most things, she still tends to goof up with the supposedly obvious stuff (like wondering about the purpose of a rubber duck). She also is wary of leadership, because she is a bit unsure of herself as a good leader, and her greatest fear is to lose a life she is responsible for. Kyrie believes strongly in justice, and in helping others with her powers. She frowns on any form of abuse of power.

The Capability
|
Rank:
Specialties:
—Main Specialty: Weapons Expert —Sub Specialty: Projection
Powers:
—Main Power: Psionics: Psi-kappa This involves the ability to affect the physical environment with an advanced mind. It essentially allows Kyrie to move objects and herself, create fields that can attract and repel stuff, and such similar abilities. It can be loosely defined as Psychokinesis.
—Main Power: Psionics: Psi-gamma The only Fortunian power that Kyrie has so far exhibited, this involves the ability to affect the immaterial environment with an advanced mind. Although it can be described as telepathy, it does not offer the ability to control minds. What it does is allow the user to know and understand things that the five senses can never reveal, react quicker to stimuli, as well as create immaterial constructs that have a variety of effects on the mind, when they touch the body, such as pain, psychic resistance, breaking psychic resistance, etc.
—Main Power:(Leave blank until B-Level) —Sub Power:(Leave Blank Until A-Level) —Sub Power:(Leave Blank Until A-Level)
Abilities:(1 Free C-Level ability at Creation per power)
—Name: Extrasensory Perception —Rank: C —Power: Psionics: Psi-gamma —Description: This acts as a sixth sense, giving Kyrie the ability to sense whatever happens around her. As a result, she does not always need to rely on her five senses in order to perceive things. It is very difficult, nearly impossible to hide from her when she is using this ability, and this ESP is very helpful in alerting her to danger. It is not constantly active, however, but must be "switched" on and off. C-rank: Kyrie can sense whatever happens around her in a spherical radius of 50 meters. B-rank: Kyrie can sense whatever happens around her in a spherical radius of 150 meters. A-rank: Kyrie can sense whatever happens around her in a spherical radius of 400 meters. S-rank: Kyrie can sense whatever happens around her in a spherical radius of 1 kilometer.
—Name: Psychokinesis —Rank: C —Power: Psionics: Psi-kappa —Description: Psychokinesis is the ability to move an object with one's mind, even to the level of flinging the subject with alarming speeds. Of course, it can also be used to halt moving objects. C-rank: Kyrie is capable of moving up to 3 objects within a 100 meter radius, to a maximum weight of 2000 lbs. B-rank: Kyrie is capable of moving up to 5 objects within a 250 meter radius, to a maximum weight of 3500 lbs A-rank: Kyrie is capable of moving up to 10 objects within a 1000 meter radius, to a maximum weight of 6000 lbs S-rank: Kyrie is capable of moving up to 30 objects within a 2000 meter radius, to a maximum weight of 8000 lbs

Name: Flight Rank: C-S (currently C) Power: Psi-kappa Description: Using her psychokinetic powers, Kyrie can beat the laws of physics and levitate herself. This does not add her weight to the weight or number of objects she can carry with her mind, and she is capable of flying with whatever weight she can lift physically. Kyrie can fly at fast speeds, based on her rank. C - 150mph B - 300mph A - 600mph S - 1,200mph
|
Name: Invulnerability Rank: C-S (currently C) Power: Psi-kappa Description: By manipulating the forces of attraction and repulsion around her body with her mind instinctively, Kyrie has developed a form of invulnerability to protect herself from physical attacks. While it can be voluntarily switched on and off, it is almost always active, just the way a human breathes almost involuntarily, but can affect their breathing at will. Her invulnerability is dependent on rank. C - Withstand moderate bludgeoning and melee B - Withstand Small arms fire A - Withstand larger caliber rounds and heavy bludgeoning damage S - Withstand energy blasts taking half damage
|
Name: Burst Rank: C-S (currently C) Power: Psi-kappa Description: Kyrie releases a shockwave of raw psionic power which produces a physical pressure on the environment. The shockwave goes out in a spherical pattern, with herself at the center, or she can channel it in a single direction, in which case it will travel twice the length of the radius of the shockwave when it is radial (such lengths are indicated in brackets after the shockwave radius length). Of course, channeling it in a single direction makes it easier to dodge. The air seems to distort where the shockwave goes. At C-rank, she creates a shockwave of 10 (20) meters in radius, which is capable of sending average humans flying and cracking bone. At B-rank, she creates a shockwave of 20 (40) meters in radius. This shockwave can crack strong walls and move cars. At A-rank, she creates a shockwave of 50 (100) meters in radius. This shockwave can cause buildings to collapse and dent reinforced steel. At S-rank, she creates a shockwave of 100 (200) meters in radius. This shockwave has the power to rip its way through a mountain, and few can stand in its path.
Skills:
—Name: Strength Augmentation —Specialty: Projection —Rank: C —Description: Using her psionic powers, Kyrie affects objects she comes in contact with physically, lifting or moving them a little with her mind, while she acts simultaneously. The result is that she appears to be 10% stronger than normal.
Weapons/Devices:(2 D-Level weapons if you have weaponry spec if not you start with none)
Item Name: Fortunian Maiden Battle Suit Item Rank: D Item Description: A battle suit worn by the young females of the dominant alien species inhabiting the planet Fortuna Prime, this indicates that they are worthy to serve as fledgling warriors, but are not yet ready to enter the circle of the Sentinels. On becoming a Sentinel, the Fortunian maiden receives a different armor and weapon. The suit allows for good ventilation in the humid jungle environments, and 'lights' on the suit activate when the wearer uses her powers. These lights are more of an aesthetic thing, and hardly have any other use. Item Image: Check Kyrie's appearance Item Power: Other than provide good ventilation and distraction for most males (who are into that sort of thing), it does little else.

The Background
|
History:
- Spoiler:
Kyrie is hybrid, born of a human mother and Fortunian father. It all began when an interplanetary war broke out across the Darvenian system, millions of light years away from the solar system. Two powerful and highly advanced races were engaged in a bloody war for the mastery of the system: the Fortunians, a rather humanoid race with the powers of telepathy and mimicry, fighting to preserve their freedom and the planets they called home; and the Deluge, a race of nomadic, harsh, warlike creatures of various shapes and sizes, whose sole pleasure was to wage war, sell slaves and destroy. The war lasted long, bitter years, and for a while the system remained in a bloody stalemate.
Then, a Fortunian scientist discovered a breakthrough: a compound that would destroy the Deluge by breaking down their genetic code over time. The concept was sound, but materials were needed. So as not to alert the Deluge to their plans, the mission had to be carried out by only a few Fortunians, designated to protect the team of scientists who were working on the compound. They would have to escape from the system using a slip-space device, so as to travel the farthest reaches of the galaxy in search of these items. Fortunians are naturally disinclined to leave their home planet, and so finding volunteers proved to be a difficult task. The brave son of the Fortunian high king stepped forward to make the journey (name withheld, to protect readers from biting their tongues), and after handpicking a loyal group of soldiers, they began their mission.
Escaping the Deluge proved to be harder than expected, and by the time the Deluge was no longer an immediate threat, most of the Fortunian crew had perished. After long years of searching and danger, the compound was finally created... by the last of the scientists, suffering by now from a poison that would ultimately claim his life. The prince had to go on, but was eventually waylaid by a band of space pirates, who not only damaged his ship and the slip-space device, but succeeded in injuring him as well. Lost and wounded, he eventually happened on a primitive planet, with similar creatures and atmosphere to his planet, but possessing backward technology. This 'backward' planet was Earth.
In Earth, the prince faced the danger of being captured and experimented on by the ever-inquisitive humans, but he was hidden and protected by an earthling female called Valerie Chester. There, he recuperated, and was even able to repair the device, thanks to his protector, who was a very powerful mutant with the ability to affect technology. Being not much different from each other in outward physiology (except that Fortunians have chalk-white skin), the two began developing feelings for each other. Once he was fully healed, he attempted to return to his home and Valerie asked to go with him. He refused, fearing that the journey would be too dangerous for her. Eventually, he left without informing her, but discovered along the way, that Valerie was a stowaway on his ship. Too far to make the journey back to Earth, he chided her for what he considered to be a judgmental error on her part, but she insisted that this was what she wanted. Thus, two returned, Fortunian and human, at a point when the Fortunian high king had been slain by the enemy and the chances of victory for the Fortunians were looking pretty slim.
Although the Fortunians generally do not favor outsiders, they had too many problems to refuse the help Valerie offered them. Originally doubting the human's powers, they were shocked when the war suddenly turned in their favor. Valerie easily turned the enemies' weapons against them, and she was also jointly responsible for placing the compound on the Deluge mothership. Within days, the Deluge forces began weakening and dying. In the last chapters of the war, a final and climatic battle took place on the bridge of the Deluge ship, and the Deluge overlord, who was a powerful telekinetic, was eventually killed. The prince and Valerie escaped the mothership just before the Deluge fled the system via slip space. The prince was declared the high king of Fortuna, and he announced that Valerie would be his bride. The Fortunians, who had by now come to love and esteem her as one of their own, had little objections.
Not long afterwards, the king and queen of Fortuna had their first and only child, a daughter: Than'aran Yalakyrie Erranvathaar. Her mother called her Kyrie. Kyrie did not exactly possess the mimicry ability that the Fortunians had, and even telepathy was difficult and painful for her. She would suddenly mimic another creature's ability for a short while, and then she would lose the ability. Instead, what she had was psychokinesis. It was discovered that Valerie was already pregnant with Kyrie during the Deluge wars, and the foetus somehow managed to copy the power of the Deluge overlord. Being different wasn't easy, but Kyrie was able to cope with it, because she had loving and supporting parents, who taught her the values she upholds to this day.
When she was ten, Kyrie suffered a devastating blow: the death of her mother. Before Valerie died, she had been encouraging her daughter to join the maiden warriors. On her death bed, Kyrie promised her that she would gain entry into the circle of the Wise, as she had wished. Joining the maidens was not easy, because the other girls gave her the nickname 'Ardanti', which would mean something along the lines of 'The Red' (because of her hair and skin color). It was derogatory at first, but Kyrie was undaunted by the name, and by the time her determination and prowess became known, 'The Red' was respected by many.
Everything went downhill when Kyrie was about twenty. An influential clan began arguing that Kyrie could not become the high queen of Fortuna, in the event of the king's death, since she was not pureblood. From little ideas and arguments, the situation escalated into nothing short of a civil war. And it was in that moment of weakness that the Deluge returned.
The Deluge mothership crashed into Fortuna Prime, boring into the earth with a shockwave sufficient to level buildings. Those of the Deluge that remained had decided that if they were to perish, they would destroy Fortuna with them. They had vanished for close to twenty years, managing to keep themselves alive, while they stockpiled on explosives and ammunitions. In an instant, Fortuna Prime turned into a white sun of nuclear energy, and then was gone.
Kyrie was probably the only survivor, because she was stationed on a moon of Fortuna Prime, in training, when the event happened. Having nowhere to go, she was eventually rounded up by space pirates. In a daring act, and surprisingly not up to a day after she was captured, Kyrie broke free, defeated most of the pirates, and made good her escape. Stealing a ship with a slip-space device, she traveled as far away as she could.
For some 'unexplainable' reason (which was actually her body attempting to mimic the slip-space device, and damaging it in the process), she floated in space for a time (close to a year), and the ship put her into suspended animation to keep her alive and conserve fuel. And that was all she remembered...
...until she found herself clawing her way out of the damaged ship, which was rapidly being filled with water. Some way or another, her ship had crashed into Earth. Having nowhere else to go, Kyrie had to remain in Earth, which would have to be sufficient as a new home. Kyrie has since then spent the next two years trying to adapt to the strange way of humans, and do whatever she can to uphold the cause of Good.
