PostSubject: Rain forest [Unknown Figure Bounty]   Fri Dec 21, 2012 3:57 am

The sun was covered by clouds and the voices of mother nature was made apparent through the rain forest. The forest itself was untouched by man, which probably made it such a vulnerable location for this paradox to occur. The land itself seemed to bend upon itself in distortions, as if a figure was soon to arrive upon the scene.

The wind whistled overhead and down through the treetop canopy. Color, vibrant and wild, decorated the area in brilliant blue waters, bright red poisonous fruits and green, so many greens. Lush verdant green ferns danced from errant whorls cast down amidst them. Vines swung as the higher branches waved from the gusting winds. Truly the power of nature was no clearer than here.

Churning cloud cover nearly 30,000 feet overhead, far higher than any normal person could breathe, shielded the forest from the sun’s golden rays. Soon there was promise of rain, cascading sheets to drench and feed, quenching an unending thirst in the tropical paradise. What the clouds birth first, was a man.

A young man, Devon descended dressed in black combat boots, a torn pair of jeans, and a simple black t-shirt. What was he doing here? He wasn’t sure. Samael the Inquisitor told him that help was needed, that something far beyond confronting a simple rapist demanded attention.

Thus he lowered slowly, cascading gusts around him and at his command. He peered around curiously and cautiously, the scene reflected in the depths of his dark eyes as he hovered above the forest canopy. Devon wasn’t sure what to expect.

Samael flew along through the air, using one of his newer abilities to stay aloft. His Telekinesis had moved along nicely in its progression once he had started practicing with it and things like being able to skim over the top of a rain forest were just one of the benefits.

There had been a bounty placed, and the 3 of them were an unlikely pair to be working together to take it down –but it needed to be taken down and if no one else was going to do it, well, Samael would. With some help, because their target was supposed to be rather dangerous. All of the new defensive toys Samael had learned would be useful indeed.

So for now, Samael skimmed just over the tree tops, and Devon swooped down near him, the pair of them doing their best to stay out of sight as they moved towards where their target was supposed to be.

Reduced to the guy who takes bounties. Guess that was the best way he could earn a living now adays. If he walked into peoples houses and just waited for them to die eventually he would be caught just a little bit too far. Floating on a construct just above the canopy Thanatos began to search for his teammates and more importantly the reason he was here for the bounty.

Quickly Emelie flew overhead finding the three sitting there, she was in her new super suit. This would provide her some protection, she quickly flew down towards them. Her eyes were glowing a bright blue and shown in the light. Emelie was already using her enhanced sense to pick up any movements in the area around them. So far nothing, but hooefully she'd pick up something, they were all close together, well within a 10 meter area. She began to speak "I am not sure where they are. Be on the look out" she spoke. Emelie began to scan the area with both her enhacned sense and her eyes to look for anything out of the ordinary.

The world began to shift and turn, as a figure draped in a white hooded cloak would suddenly appear within the forest. Beneath the dark hood of the figure, two contrasting hues would shine bright. One of purple, and the other of white. Keeping his appearance masked in darkness, the figure remained still in the small clearing. Though he wasn't particularly looking around to locate who was the cause of him being summoned, his all seeing eye did take in the intents of four figures no less than fifteen meters around him. Were these the targets to be removed so he could return to his eternal slumber? Turning towards the direction of one of his opponents (Samael) the hooded figure would extend an arm and reveal a pitch black blade covered in darkness. As this occurred, the shadows of the rain forest would begin to dance and swirl around the area, forming clones of the hooded figure that numbered in the twenties. These clones made of darkness would begin to release a series of hornets from their gullets that would fly out and swarm the area in a swarm of chaos. Anyone who got within fifteen meters of one of the clones would be within the swarm of shadow based insects. That went the same for the original hooded figure aswell. Once it was all set, the figure would seemingly kneel and tap a finger into the soil below his feet. Once he did this, he'd put a layer of chakra beneath the soles of his feet and the ground itself. Now he would just need to wait. Throughout these actions, the figure remained alert to the inevitable conflict that would occur because of his presence.

Devon looked to Samael’s arrival with a questioning lowering of his brow. He nodded once in greeting and waited as the two others he’d said would join did. This wasn’t going to go well, was it?

He looked upon the jet black maiden’s arrival as a deadly omen. Amazingly, she stared back with bright white eyes. She demanded attention and apparently, she was in charge. She was an ally?

“Yeah, yeah,” Tempest called back while darkness swam over his eyes. He was watching and what he found was far more remarkable than he could have expected. It was going to be far more dangerous too.

If he were alone, he’d have swept the area with a foul wind, but he wasn’t. As the first swarm blew out of a clone’s gullet, Tempest swore, “These creatures do not belong here. I’m after the hornets.” He flung out his arms dramatically and demanded the winds’ attention.

Three channeled gusts came at his call. As strong as 200mph, he pushed the currents to a howl as they funneled along the paths Tempest demanded. They swirled and spun to capture the swarms as they blew, all in attempt to capture the wicked winged creatures. He wanted them to smash violently into the trees around them and away from their targets.

Tempest, meanwhile, kept his distance and floated back some ten additional meters to stay clear of the openings he would hopefully allow for his allies. He knew it may take a while to capture all the swarms and destroy them but that’s where his concentration would be for now. His jaw clenched in his focus.

((OOC:
Tempest is using windcaller to summon three ongoing channeled gusts to capture/blow away and smash the hornets against the trees.

Samael flew along with Devon, keeping a sharp eye out. They met up with the strange girl he had met before and continued their search. Then, all at once, there was their target in a clearing directly in front of them. A target who now seemed quite dangerous as a plethora of abilities sprung forth. He was worried at first about the hornets, but less so once Tempest began to clear them up. The winds were stronger than a hurricane and branches whipped and snapped, hopefully taking many of the hornets with them.

Samael really didn’t like the blade that was pointed his direction, however. Well, not so m uch pointed, but held, with the figure staring at him. No thank you! Immediately he brought up his telekinetic shielding, barely a shimmer revealing itself as it swirled around him ready to deflect attacks. And oh boy was there a lot of strange clones to deal with. Shadowed clones. He didn’t really have much in the way of weapons of mass destruction, so he hoped the girl could just wipe them out. “I’ll try to…. Keep it busy?” Samael said, trying to sound hopeful!

With that, three large rocks yanked themselves up off the ground and swirled in a circle like some sort of strange gyroscope – a gyroscope with giant rocks, whose path was right through the hooded figure.

Emelie wasn't worried about what was going on, the many clones large influx of Chi was easy to spot, Emelie jetted forward and locked in on the figures, he was paying attention towards Sam and seemed like he was ready to attack him. Emelie was on behind a few clones and could easyily fire a blast towards them she was 150 meters away from them. Emelie quickly fired a bolt of her blast towards a clear path at 10 of the clones, she'd fire them all in only a few seconds. The 10 blast would scream forward and land at each one chest The small blue ball wasn't fired at full power but could easily kill a tank. She then quickly jetted forward approaching a large mountain the man was now further away from her, around 270 meters. But the mountain was angled towards him, it wasn't massive but Emelie might be able to use it somehow, Her attention snapped towards him she wondered and observe the area to see if she noticed anything, using her general intellect she'd find out what the figure was doing.

The moment the harsh winds began to pour in, the hooded figure would make sure to make the proper reciprocation. In an instant, his arms moved like a flicker and slammed together, releasing a bright light and a loud BOOM to accompany it. The shockwave of the sonic boom would give a quick second of stillness from the winds. Since they all seemed so focused on looking towards the man, the bright light and strong sounds would play their parts on effecting their senses. He wondered how well they'd fare with no eyesight and loss of hearing for awhile. In a blink of an eye, the hooded man shot if with speeds compared to a body flicker, heading straight towards the one named Samael. From doing this move, his hornets would have been destroyed thanks to their low rank and the high intensity of light. Even so, the rocks Samael attempted to use against the male would be pushed aside by the lightning surge around the attacker's body. Using the over all velocity gained from moving at such speeds, the figure would combine this with a nigh instant slash towards the male. At this point, he was alittle more than three meters away. With his purple hued eye gazing in the eyes of his opponent, and the white contrasting eye keeping the intents of the others on his mind, he was prepared for any counter act looking to come his way. With the use of his demon hand, it didn't take a second for him to swing his arm and unleash a gauntlet of blades upon the one named Samael's body. The blades had the properties of the sword, thus their cutting potential was more than enough to pierce his shielding. Also, which the way the figure used his chakra transformation maneuver, these chakra blades would not only cut, but spread out to engulf the telepath in a fury of attacks with enough potential to slice him into various pieces.

As his attack was focused upon Samael, two poofs of smoke would appear in midair, above the one named Tempest. From these smoke clouds came two clones that looked identical to the masked man. Both clones came down with their own swords, attempting to impale the Tempest from behind, attempting to take advantage of the possible blindness and loss of hearing. As this occurred, ten of the clones on the ground would explode. Taski would take note that the third attacker that had yet to engage was a ranged attacker who seemed to fire off some sort of explosive chakra blast. Similar to the Kurei of his time. He'd be prepared next time they tried such a move. The remaining close who could have survived the blasts would have began to jump in the trees heading up towards the two flying opponents.

To say Tempest was unprepared for what was happening would have been an understatement. Here was a young man who fought street thugs to protect people walking home late at night. Now, here he was thousands of miles from New York City, called by Samael to help against some big threat in the wild rain forest. Well, Samael wasn’t wrong.

Devon was frightened. His new friend – right? – drew up rocks from the ground and Devon didn’t even know how he did that. The woman shot a number of blasts not from a gun but from her body, blue bursts of tremendous energy. He was happy to help against the bees, but what else was coming? This was going to be trouble.

Now Tempest’s body was well adapted to the sky and its fury. He saw brilliant lightning and heard tremendous thunder all the time, up closer than most. Yet, even he wasn’t immune to such, not yet anyway.

Barely aware that the Figure had produced the burst of light by clapping his arms together, Tempest winced, shielding his eyes with an arm and rocking from the boom that followed. All the world had gone blurry, a pale wash as his eyes struggled to adjust. He needed to be better prepared.

Unsure of his surroundings, Tempest clasped his arms to him over his chest. The winds roared around him as he propelled himself upward. The gusts flared and buffeted, the howling roar a clear sign of the tremendous cacophony around the boy. He wasn’t sure what he felt as he rocketing higher, but something changed in the air, disrupting the currents. He shuddered and lightning began to crackle around his body, a shield of painful electrical arcs that produced his Shock Shield.

A thin slice of one figure’s high frequency blade made contact with Tempest’s left bicep even as the winds bombarded the two falling figures. The pain filled Tempest’s senses and he screamed in agony and anger. The cocooning winds and lightning around his body flared and fluttered, pushed by his emotional rage.

Tempest was still flying up, rising nearly 300’ per second and already almost a thousand feet higher than the forest canopy now. He blinked and winced, struggling to see and now what had stung him so sharply. He couldn’t attack, only defend himself as best he knew how.

Spoiler:

((OOC:
This is my first major combat post so bare with me.

Tempest’s adapted body should help him with the blindness/deafness but I didn’t think it should protect him completely at rank C. Tempest is using windrider to fly upward. He’s using windcaller and shock shield to protect himself as best he can. I figured due to the speed of the figures at least one would make contact before Tempest got too high and would pierce the shield, doing some damage.

Suddenly out of almost nowhere, there was a massive boom and a flash of light that seemed to blind everyone. Samael stifled a shout and covered his eyes but it was too late. Luckily he was still fairly close to the ground and his target and thanks to his telekinetic abilities he was able to sense their presence fine. He was also able to sense, sadly, that the rocks he had used to attack the man were all but useless.

His Telekinetic senses were also the only things that kept him alive as a series of blades were flung out by their target and came right at Samael. They tore through the telekinetic barrier he had erect and even though it exerted a full 2000lbs pounds of force against them it had zero effect, though it seemed to at least turn them away from the vital areas at least. Still, several blades tore into him at various points in his body and seemed ready to do more.

Samael cried out in pain and did several things simultaneously – his recent gift from his father was activated, and an odd shadow sprang to life. It was solid and not all at the same time, and it immediately went to work. As each blade of his enemy swung around him, it also created a shadow, and several of these shadows were ripped free and turned solid and then sacrificed itself to stop the blade from hitting Samael. It didn’t stop all of them, but it stopped some.

Meanwhile Samael grabbed at the blades with Telekinetic Force and hurled them back at their owner, each one with a full ton of force behind it and traveling at rather high speeds because of it. Even as he did this he focused the healing properties of his blood into closing some of his wounds – even though the remaining blades that got through continued to open new ones.

The others were outside his sensing range now, so he could only hope they were holding their own.

The sound was to far away to effect her and did nothing to her at all, although the light was less effective as she wasn't looking directly at the man. She was partially blinded, but not as heavily as her partners. Emelie now with being outside the battle and the man being concentrated on the ones fighting in the air, Emelie would not endanger her fellow with a massive blast but instead she'd quickly move her hands and together and speedy saying Kamehameha, its take only a 1/10th of a second to fire and she was around 300 meters from the battle. Her sense were used to lock onto the ones above her comrade Temptest, the two in fact were still above him by the time she fired. Something was odd about the Ishis clones. There Ki was massive, each one seemed to be maxed out on Ki and seemed to be overflowing with it, this didn't change her ability to sense it, she could still sense exactly where they are and unlike the man they seemed to not be caring or paying any attention to her at all. They were both in her range and about to fly onto Tempest, but a blast would quickly interrupt the clones over his head, lucky for her they were lined up, so if she hit one with the pure concussive force the other was in lined to be hit. This would take almost no time and her hand motions that she previously did were completely different and this had happened so quickly it'd be hard to get a reading, not even mentioning the blast was moving at full speed and with enough power to obliterate anything in its path, it seemed almost to perfect with the clear path lined up like that. If it landed the two would be sent flying backwards and easily killed. Lucky for Tempest they appeared above him and even if they dodged do to his angle he was in no danger of getting hit. Her sense then picked up on something else that was quite odd, it seemed a couple of clones had leaped from the trees and were headed towards her. She was 150 meters away from any trees, to get to her they'd be forced to travel in a empty plain. It seemed like Thantos was a lot less lucky as he hadn't moved since the start of the fight.

As the blades slashed the man, the Aishado would catch the presence of shadows sprouting to life. Apparently his opponent could use such darkness aswell? That was truly interesting, and would come in handy. However, with the man covered in light, these shadows would be dispersed as the opponent would have attempted to fire them. Using this opportunity, the figure would finish his full frontal assault by plunging his blade within the man's chest, attempting to pierce straight through his heart. He would do this by focusing energy through his limb, and steadying the blade so the force wouldn't throw off his aim. With its piercing capabilities, combined with his sword art, he had a more than eighty percent chance of slaying the opponent with the final stroke. While he was battling this man, his Kyuui eye continued to keep tabs on the coward and their plan. This would need to be forwarded to his clones. Anyway, even if the shadow blades were fired off, the figure's cloak would spring to life and protect its user from the attacks. That was if these shadows could survive through the light in the first place. If the figure was successful in plunging his blade into the opponent, he'd press off of it and let the man fall with the blade still through his chest. Using his own ability at bending winds, the figure would let out a gust of air and dive back down into the thick forest; hitting the ground and burrowing within the soil. This was when his abilities as a snake would come in handy. Like a predator, he'd be hunting the prey. It didn't take rocket science to see where the coward who was attacking from the distance was hiding. These were his woods after all. The remaining clones on the ground would follow suit and begin to burrow into the soil. The hunt would be on at this time. The predator did enjoy killing the coward prey first.

Meanwhile the Ishi clones were falling down towards Tempest that was coming up. One of them could see the gathering light of the blast, and thanks to their creator taking note that there was a ranged attacker before, while the one being aimed at had already began the invisible defense. So she/he/it would fire the blast before they were lucky enough to get to the one named Tempest, who was flying up quite fast below them. The beam reached them well before, and with a well placed deflection, thanks to the Kyuui eye, the beam would have shot down and right onto Tempest who was coming up at 300' a second. Their range was within three meters when the blast was deflected down; and with that kind of speed it wouldn't be able to be stopped easily. So, just like that, the one who fired the kamahameha, like some cheap anime, would have fired their blast right into a trap that would be turned around and used to hit their own team mate coming up into it. The force was brutal to say the least. I guess that was the bad part about having an ability so reckless and easy to turn around to the advantage of the opposition.

OoC: Take note my previous post had the figure see the chi blasts before, setting up the move here where the ranged attacker took the bait. Check the Genuis and Trap Master skills for clarification

(OCC: I was gonna argue based on you recognizing the firing process, the fact you seeing the light means its already been fire. After looking over this guys speed, I assumed the Ishi clones had a lot of chakra in them to be able to speedily put up a defense, so I can't argue the speed assuming they have good amount of chakra in them. Not sure how much, kinda dangerous. Tempestt don't worrie about the defense. You can put up a defense which is always good, but don't assume its coming directly at you. I don't want to interrupt your combat, I was more trying to stop you from getting hit, which was successful. You'll see when I post. You kinda gotta write a what if post, as in if the blast comes towards you. Then write something if it doesn't come towards you, if you get me. Thats kinda how combat is, your never really sure what can happen and other peoples input changes what happens, I have clones to deal with on my own. So I won't be able to do anything for you. )

A blade was poised to strike Tempest’s arm but a calamity of chaotic confusion was erupting over the tranquil rain forest. It was a majestic and complex ecosystem. Hot temperatures created a cozy environment for numerous fauna and flora, the species thriving. The extreme humidity was both a product of the frequent rains and the oxygen produced by the trees. It was almost a second atmosphere under that rich green canopy. When it stormed here, everything was aware and all hid from the raging torrents that could follow.

No one was hiding now. While Tempest could not see clearly what was going on around him, he felt it. The extreme force and heat flung in his direction set off all his senses to alarm. Things were getting worse and Devon was struggling to clear both vision and sight. He didn’t need to perfectly see thermal currents to know something hot was coming. He felt it in the already hot, humid air.

Something akin to fear was rolling through him. He couldn’t panic; he wouldn’t panic. Yet, the struggle of what was happening was gripping something deep and almost primal within him. It was the need for survival.

The air was displaced, disrupting currents from above and below. Unsure of what was transpiring, Tempest clasped his arms to his chest. The already prevailing winds roared around him as he propelled himself upward. Each gust flared but the roar of the approaching blast produced its own trailing wind current. It was too fast for him to manipulate, but not so much that he couldn’t use it.

As he shuddered, lightning began to crackle around his body, a shield of painful electrical arcs that produced his Shock Shield. They flared and roared as he dipped sideways and let the winds he called whip him back and over. Looking much like a rag doll, the black haired young man became a whirling ball of electrical energy. He pulled all the currents to himself and spun them along, sheering low circles in a violently maddening pattern in sudden fashion.

The clouds over the hot, humid skies of the Midwest show clear the yellow-green warning of impending danger. Here in the vastly more dangerous rain forest, the skies are far less kind. There was little warning as the funnel cloud began to spiral down in the thick, humid air. It wasn’t a massive tornado yet, but Tempest didn’t need to encourage it in the already hot and rapidly heating – from the energy ball –chaotic maelstrom of activity.

Truly, he was barely aware, his heart pounding and adrenaline flooding both his system and fueling his powers. The stream of the approaching blast could not be stopped even as the blast was turned down upon the haphazardly moving Tempest. He flung himself into the building tornado that bore partially the blast’s current. Dodging only in part, he felt the sheer pain of something rock him and flare through his shield.

The pain filled Tempest’s senses and he screamed in agony and anger. The cocooning winds and lightning around his body flared and fluttered, pushed by his emotional rage. Now he was flying up but beyond his control, his speeds exceeding even that naturally possible in such a cyclone from the utilized wind currents, heat, and other prevailing weather conditions of a tropical climate. Tempest howled, though it was likely the amassing storm and its tornado drowned him out. Branches, leaves and other debris fluttered through the air.

Blinking and wincing, the dark eyes scion struggled to see at what was happening but it didn’t matter. He surrendered himself to the nightmare, hoping it would carry him into the clouds and safety as it had done before. What horror was this?

Exit?

Trying my best here. By my logic, the rainforest is always ripe for a storm and funnel clouds anyway. Making three spiraling massive currents at 200mph while a gigantic, hot blast that creates its own concussive force wave and speed flies over and then turns, I can't see how a funnel cloud wouldn't start maybe even without a nudge. Effectively flopping around in a dizzyingly fast way and with the shield, seems to me Tempest wouldn't get the full brunt by any means while everything goes to hell. Emotional bonus included.

Bipolar Disorder: Not this thread.
No percentage chances necessary at this time. ))

Samael could barely even keep up with what was going on in the battle and was unaware of where his allies might be or even what they might be doing – mostly because he was effectively blind and couldn’t hear. He could feel all of the nearby objects thanks to his Telekinesis but it didn’t have much of a range. So, effectively, Samael was flying blind.

His protective bits of darkness were quickly blasted away by the light, not doing much to slow things down. He felt almost helpless against this target and was left wondering exactly why he had agreed to come along. A split second later his telekinetic senses warned him that this man was coming towards him and he threw up a Telekinetic Shield. The shield was almost worthless due to the man’s skill and his knife plunging towards his heart, but luckily the shielding, even when confronted with more powerful abilities, still slowed them down before it shattered into a million pieces and disappeared.

The blade plunged into Samael’s chest deeply, though perhaps not quite deeply enough to instantly kill, and then Samael plummeted towards the forest below, almost losing consciousness from the pain and definitely unable to maintain his flight. As the treetops came rushing closer he managed to throw out his hands and slow his descent just slightly before vanishing into the brush.

((OOC: I figure Samael is basically out of this fight by this point? He certainly doesn't have any fight left in him))

Emelie stood there flying her hands were striked together shooting forth the forward blast that streamed onward. The thing had placed up a kind of deflecting wave, she herself hand't noticed it at all, but was focusing on hitting the Ishi clones and the blast she had fired would automatically redirect to the position as she was concentrating and forcing it to be sent in that angle. With her constant training on the technique she made it possible to redirect even within that of traveling a extremely small distance. The shield used would on disperse the first blunt wave of the attack and shoot off in a weird direction that was no where near anyone, the reason the attack wasn't directed at Tempest was due to it being controlled to hit the clones not Tempest and would still be dispersed but not being allowed to travel in the planned path the clones had. The redirecting caused the change of direction in the initial contact, but would snap around and try and reaim but fail and zip away in the distance. The poor Ishi clone had poor concept on the attack, her stream would immdeatly keep going after the initial disruption of the frontal blast. With no deflecting shield this time the clone would be both easily smashed and ended as they were both still on target for the blow to strike them. They'd been smart to have analyzed the attack a bit more, but that was to late. Tempest would be fine and not worried about the attack and would hopefully notice the two now have been smashed into by a wave, the poor defense only dispersed the first wave and wasn't enough to hold back the secondary wave that was already right behind the first one as planned to be a blunt constant attack. This would drain her energy heavily but make a max speed attack of the ability and in sure a hit. She'd most likely only be able to fire one more if used at maximum power, maybe none at all.

Emelie keep her hands pressed and keep the blast of milisecond attack currently going on, her eye sight was regained and she could now see the picture more clearly, but keep using her sense.

With everyone focused on the clones, Taski had plenty of enough time to set up shot underground. This was where his hebi physiology would come in handy. Placing his hands together while the shadow made clones began to make a network of small air tunnels, the hooded figure would begin to summon those bound to him by the mind. Since playing around was getting him no where, and higher forces wished to see him finish the fight, he'd begin to summon those he controlled from the Yatagarasu. His shadow would have remained on the surface, and out of its gullet, three separate entities would have jumped onto the scene. They immediately began to spread out into the thick forest, using the brush as cover. Meanwhile, the hooded figure remained below ground, recovering the lost energy from his summoning. After all, these opponents were there for him. If they wanted to win, they would need to come to him. Little did they know he could still attack while beneath the earth...And once his energy had regained, he would finish this with one final attack that'd level the entire area.

The clones, in the meantime, would be dealing with the annoyance. Though one clone had used the Kyuui eye for deflection, the beam attempted to continue on to hit them both. Luckily for the clones, it wasn't just one mind working on this defense. The shadow cloak they wore would jump into action, pressing forward to completely shield their owners and block them from the blast. Not only this, but it'd press them off the force of the blast and send them spiraling down towards the ground below. At this time they'd return the chakra they borrowed from their creator and poof back into non-existence before the coward could attempt a follow up attack.

Spoiler:

The three new bodies on the field wouldn't reveal themselves just yet, but they all wore similar cloaks to their leader. Though, their eyes were extremely different. The doujutsu they held were more than perfect for the situation at hand.
