Appearance: The first trait that is generally noticed about Shawn is how young his face looks. He is indeed twenty two years of age, but he is often mistaken for being a teenager(albeit a large one). His casual style of dress doesn't help to alleviate those assumptions either. He typically wears a regular T-shirt with a baggy jacket over it. Jeans are a favorite of the his and you can almost always be certain that if he isn't on a mission he will surely be somewhere relaxing in a pair of straight fit jeans. He stands at 6 foot 2 inches and weighs 205 lbs. The weight comes from the fact that his body is nearly chiseled to perfect, but managing to maintain a slender build(A swimmers buld). An interesting fact about his appearance is that you can find him with out without glasses, leaving many to wonder whether or not he actually needs to wear them at all or if he wears them for show. He's got short blond hair and just about the biggest most beautiful blue eyes you'll ever see( A fact he knows very well and uses to his advantage).

Personality: Illuminare is considered to be one of the most mysterious people you'll ever meet by those that have met him, since his almost always stoic and void of emotions facial expressions, combined with his heavy use of sarcasm and mocking politeness, people find it very difficult to discern his true thoughts and desires. Many find his demeanor and appearance rather unsettling and there are very few who were willing to trust him because of it. The interesting part is that he seems to be fully aware of the effect he has on others and more often than not he has been known to toy with people's emotional states for his own amusement.

Despite these almost evil like qualities, these effects to to only be on those he considers enemies. He has always fought and protected those close to him and even complete strangers. He maintains a deep belief that it is his duty to defend human's against other like him who wish to destory and/or take over the world. Generally he is a man who prefers peace to violence, but during combat it is clear that he does enjoy using his abilities. He is defensive by nature, so during battles you will usually find him in the back watching and examining while defending and healing his allies if possible.

The Background

History:

Every couple millennium both a tragedy and miracles occurs on earth. The God of Light and Medicine Apollo comes down to earth and chooses a human to travel with him to Mount Olympus. The chosen is always a newborn male no more than two weeks old, so as to be untainted by human desire. Once chosen the boy will be taken from his parents against their will and brought back to Olympus with Apollo where he will serve as the God's servant for thousands of years or until Apollo is bored of the child. Because Mount Olympus exists in an entirely different dimension that earth time passes in a very different way allowing thousands of years to pass on earth, but due to the God's power, his chosen child ages at a vastly slower rate. As the servant of Apollo Shawn was used as nothing more than a toy for the God to enjoy. In order to do that however, the first step was to train and hone the child's body so as to be able to take the abuse that was to come. Apollo trained him in martial arts so that he would be able to keep up with the God physically as well as trained him the use of a multitude of weapons. Once his body was able, Apollo began to have sex with boy nearly everyday and generally multiple times a day.

This was the life that Shawn grew up in. The only life and the only person that he ever came in contact with was Apollo himself. He never met any of the other God's and because he knew nothing else, he never understood that his life wasn't like others. He never even understood that he was human and not some kind of Deity. Like anyone else in this situation he began to slowly rely on Apollo for his everyday needs and that reliance to turned to complete love and devotion. Of course, this never lasts forever and once Apollo was done with the child he simply dropped him back on earth, but before doing so he provided him with the knowledge to be able to survive and understand life on the planet. In addition to this knowledge, having had such continuous intimate contact with a God, Apollo's own powers manifested themselves to a lesser extent within the boy and thus he became Illuminare, or Illuminate[Italian]. Apollo only trained him in the use of these powers to a small extent and left much of the learning up to him.

Now back on earth and having no personal contacts, Illuminare chose to travel the world and learn as much about people as he could seeing as the knowledge he gained from Apollo was more a basic set to survive and of course didn't cover the variation of human personality. In his travels he learned about the many different types of humans which included mutants and even others that had powers given to them by God's though none in the same way that he received them. This travelling and learning spanned over the course of two years and in that time he managed to be able to generally assimilate and go undetected among humans. Recently he found himself in New Orleans as he stopped before eventually planning to make his way to New York City....
