The Daily Bugle

Senator Hines has revealed how mutants will be handled: Sentinels.

A rumor traveled the circles of the supernatural. Mutants heard a safe, underground railroad was being started, inquire at the Summit. The beyond sought the strange power said to rest at the Summit of New York City. The gossip flitted amongst the rest: valuable information was to come to light when dawn broke over the Summit.

Getting Back to Action (Open) Empty
PostSubject: Getting Back to Action (Open)   Getting Back to Action (Open) EmptySat Nov 24, 2012 12:42 pm

Skyscraper was walking across the city laced in his black robe covering his face. People looked at him, as they probably recognized him after his various acts of saving them from various robbers or murderers. They labeled him "The hooded hero." here in New York. He liked the title but he was no hero. His heroic deeds were only for selfish reasons. He didn't feel like a hero. When he looked in the mirror all he saw was someone who wanted the people' to enjoy him so he could boost some of his self esteem. He was far from a hero, and never would be one.

As he walked across the town, he didn't know what exactly he was doing. He said he was out on patrol for any crime but he felt as if he was really out to clear his head for recent events. A lot has happened to him in the past couple of months.

He knew he was alone in this struggle. His brother didn't give two fucks about him and hasn't even made an effort to meet him. His mother, she is probably somewhere smoking rocks. He was all alone, but he didn't care. All he needed to rely on was his own self. He preferred being alone in his struggles, so if things don't work out the only person he can blame is himself.

He looked at a tall building, and put his hand out to teleport and was already half way up from ascending it. He quickly disappeared and reappeared at the very top of the building and looked down at the people below. He crossed his arms and took a deep breath. "Damn this city is boring."

Getting Back to Action (Open) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Getting Back to Action (Open)   Getting Back to Action (Open) EmptyTue Dec 04, 2012 12:50 am

With his previous employment losing his interest, Blake found himself drawn towards the mysteries shrouding his mutant abilities. His new found leisure has supplied him with the opportunity to test the limitations and attributes of his earthly feats. Mornings that would otherwise be spent behind the lens of fifteen-thousand dollar camera have now been occupied with women, friends and leaping from rooftop to rooftop propelled by nothing but the land beneath his feet. Toronto was by no means a small community; however, it was a parasite in comparison to the vast and cluttered streets of New York City. It’s funny to think that a career he no longer wishes to pursue is what drew him to the Big Apple. He sat by the ledge of a large skyscraper, admiring the mid-afternoon buzz of the city drowned out by the sound of cellphones and taxis. As he glanced across the setting, a fellow clad in a dark hood caught his attention.

The man was only a short distance away, perched upon another rooftop. He’d seen the individual before: a vigilante becoming well renowned for his heroic deeds. Blake, himself, was not one for the super hero lifestyle. There were plenty of oddly dressed super-zeros hell-bent on helping old ladies cross the street, but that never peaked his curiosity. Harolds was always more content in his red sneakers, dark fitted jeans, cobalt blue hooded sweater and leather jacket. He felt no need to flaunt his differences by stopping baddies, after-all, what purpose would be the purpose of police forces? Nor did he feel the need to help people by using unnatural means (after all, there’s more than one way to be a hero). Regardless of his own opinions or his un-want to get involved in the superhero community, he felt drawn to this character and found himself hopping from rooftop to rooftop, using the ground beneath to propel him. Standing at nearby building parallel to that of the vigilante, he watched attentively for recognition from the man clad in black.

Getting Back to Action (Open) Empty

Skyscraper had heard the rumors of the people around starting to turn on heroes because of the damage they caused during their struggles with villainy. He found it completely offensive that they would turn on him like that. Himself and his fellow vigilantes tried their hardest to try and protect the people of this city, and they would simply turn on him like that. He shook his head in disappointment about the people. "I'll remember that next time one of you want some saving." He said, being sarcastic. He didn't really mean it, this was just another step on his journey of atonement.

He turned around and looked at him and saw another figure up in the air with him. "The hell?" He said out loud as he crossed his arms and raised his eyebrows at him. "I could have sworn I was up here by myself. I didn't really want any visitors tonight." He said much louder so the other person could hear what he was saying. He guessed for him to also be a powered being seeing how he was able to get up to the height he was. "I better be careful. I don't know about this guy. He mumbled under his breath as he put his hands up and made two blades of pure light. He twirled them between his hands and looked straight at him. "What is it you want?" He asked as his face was hidden under his hood.

“See? This is exactly why I avoid getting involved with you people” he declared in response to the hostile vigilante’s demands and demeanor. “I can’t go for a simple mid-day stroll without oversensitive zeros like you swinging weapons at me because you helped an old lady cross the street last week” he antagonized. “You know, this is why I prefer my quaint little NORMAL life. I don’t feel the need to run around town like a hooded miscreant just to over compensate for my clear lack of social skills.” Without taking a breath, Blake was prepared to continue his verbal assault before abruptly stopping. “Haha, sorry, I tend to go off on I tirade when I rant” he chuckled. He recollected his thoughts before giving the hooded figure a stern look. “Now, I've never been the type to cause a confrontation; however, I’d be a little bit more thoughtful before showing such hostility to people you know nothing about. After all, you never know just who you might piss off” he added with a sly wink. Blake Harolds’ had no intention to spar with the locally-renowned superhero; nevertheless, he was not the type to take kindly to threat or enmity. He clinched his right fist as he gritted his teeth, but suddenly turned around. “Unless you’d like to withdraw your previous statement or add any validity to it, I guess I’ll take your advice and be on my way” the young mutant proclaimed. Oddly enough, in the last five or so years of developing his abilities, Blake had never once physically or verbally encountered anyone that he perceived to be similar to himself, yet he found himself on the most normal of days encountering the most unique of situations. As he stepped to the opposite ledge of the high-rise building, preparing to make his descent, he tucked his head over his left shoulder and tuned in for any sort of response from his newly acquainted stranger.

Skyscraper heard what the man said in reply to his comment and he laughed at it. "You people" is all Skyscraper had to hear before he began to comment again. "Oversensitive zero? You seem to have quite a mouth on you. I've done much more then help an old lady cross a street. How about save this entire fucking city. Keep this up, and forget your quaint normal life, your gonna spend the rest of your life in a damn hospital bed." He said in reply, keeping a calm face as he smirked. As he finished, he heard him quickly apologize right after. He shook his head and looked at him and dispersed his weapons of light.

"You think I'm gonna let you call me out and walk away? Nah, things don't work like that around here. Especially with me. It lowers my status as the greatest assassin there is." He said, as he smiled and punch his fists together. "Come, fight me if your such a bad ass kid. Show me just how strong you are." He shouted as he simply looked forward at him, to see what his next action would be. Skyscraper recently had been much more cocky then before. During his journey of atonement, he has gained much more of a hothead personality. He loved it, he liked he was showing more emotion. It fueled his drive to beat his opponents.

Getting Back to Action (Open) Empty

Blake took in a deep sigh of disbelief as he set his gaze back upon the hostile hero. “You know what? I apologize. I got a little carried away with what I said, so for my bad”, he stated in an attempt to diffuse the situation. He glanced down to his side for a moment before looking back up at his aggressor. “At the same time, I really don’t appreciate the hostility. Just because you can beat up a few baddies doesn't give you the right to walk around treating everyone like a terrorist or a play thing”, he criticized. This encounter had really taken a spin for the worst; however, Blake was determined to resolve the issue peacefully – although he wasn't too certain as to how. He cracked a few knuckles in each hand before taking two steps back onto the ledge that he had previously perched over. “ You've got ten seconds”, he proclaimed in a cold demeanor as he turned his back to the hooded vigilante. “If you feel like having a conversation, you’re welcomed to say so and I’ll gladly stay; however, if you’d rather be like those thugs that you lock-up I think I’ll get to steppin’.” There really wasn't a long conversation to be had. Blake had come for a nice stroll and this individual came looking to cause some harm, something that the young mutant had no interest in being involved with. As he counted down the seconds prior to his descent, he listened attentively for some sort of remark from the hasty individual standing parallel to him.

Skyscraper looked at Blake with a annoyed look. He was growing tired of this knew hero constantly complaining about how he didn't like how Skyscraper was talking to him. "Kid, you think just coming in this city with some powers you deserve everyone's respect. I'll take to you any way I want to until you show me your worthy of my respect. Until then, your no better then anyone else even if you got powers. Unlike everyone else, you just seem to complain more. So hush damn it." He said to him as he heard him start a countdown.

"You think I wanted a conversation with you? Didn't you come around in my area? I was just fine by myself. You know what, I've grown tired of you. Perhaps I need to deliver out a nice ass whooping to just welcome you to this city. I show you we earn our respect around him. We don't just get it. So allow me to beat that lesson into you." He said as he smirked and cracked his own knuckles and looked at him. He didn't expect him to fight him he just wanted to intimidate him a little bit.

Getting Back to Action (Open) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Getting Back to Action (Open)   Getting Back to Action (Open) EmptySun Dec 09, 2012 11:25 pm

Blake could feel his eyes rolling over into his head at the sheer ignorance of the hooded vigilante. He could feel the impatience beating through his chest. This so called super hero was no more reasonable or level headed than any of the bullies that Blake had grown up detesting. He kept his head cool, however, as he acknowledged his aggressors concern as he prepared for his descent. “What the fuck is your problem? I decide to go for a stroll and you get angry that I’m invading your space, which I might add does not belong to you. Also, who the fuck ever asked for your respect? I come here minding my own business and I get nothing but allegations and assumptions by you. You’re not gonna whip anyone’s ass and I’ll guarantee that” he continued in his spiteful proclamation.” “I honestly have zero clue what your problem is, but you have no right to treat anyone lesser. You want to be a hero, then go and do the world some good instead of picking fights with every stranger that walks around in public space”, he stated as he took a deep breath.

He bent his knees and prepared for the spiral down before turning his head in one final glance. “Some hero, you’re just like every bully I ever grew up with”, he stated as he pushed forward with his feet. He hopped into the air circling over a twenty story jump. To Skyscraper, it would’ve looked as if Blake had plummeted down over twenty feet to the ground below; however, in reality the young Earth Elementalist was manipulating the earth and minerals within the outer walls of the complex to extended outwards like steps as he ran down the side of the building. Once he reached the bottom, he quickly used his Earth Manipulation to reform the large apartment building to its original state, after-all Blake was never one for vandalism. As his nerves calmed in response to his recent altercation, he had hoped that his words would’ve truly made a difference in the hooded vigilante’s mind.
