The Press Conference [Skrull Plot Mission Topic]

Floods of reporters made their way into the slightly larger than average sized room. At the far end was a stand a podium where the president would be addressing the people and answering any questions. Three members of Congress were to also be making an appearance, simply for show, not for questions. One was a man by the name of Ryan Roberts. Another, Daniel Seinfeld, and the last, a Ms. Laura Caresman. Each member of congress had their own seats on the stage of the press conference, as the reporters anxiously awaited the president to arrive at the meeting. The congress members spoke to themselves as various flashes from cameras would flutter through the room. One of these people was not who they seemed. One was, dare say, an impostor. A Skrull in disguise. However, who it was, was the mystery. What they wanted was simple. The president himself. A position of power that was not only respected, but sometimes feared, across the world. Having control of the United States, and its government, was a crucial first step if someone were to try and gain complete control of the people. There would be rebellions of course, but at this point the Skrulls could use the SHIELD agency as their personal hitmen to snuff out any of those attempting to rain in their parade. However, first thing was first. Taking the form of this symbol of power.

Jaden is Waiting for his 2 Parthers for this mission. He Got everything he need to see if one of them is the Monster. He stand with his Watch looking at the time and said to the watch" Where are those 2 they can be headskulls but really not they pick the time to be late for an mission?"

He nods and said to himself" Stay calm You don't want to Tranform.....Yet?" He Sit Down with his Dark Black Coat with some things under it.

A room full of politicians and journalists. Merri always thought that was the recipe for one sort of disaster or another. Maybe she just had a little bias against politicians, whom she felt would smile at you, but backstab you once you had your back turned. She preferred the old fashioned way: you called yourselves out and bashed your skulls into the pavement. And the winner would have to be right. Yes, call it barbaric, but it was better than all the intrigue and lying through one's teeth.

Merri Skyler dressed simply, so as not to attract attention to herself much. In fact, she came with a camera. It was most likely that whoever was the impostor would be on edge, and might get suspicious easily. So, once she had made her way inside, she took a few pictures and looked around for her mission teammates.

There. One of them had to be that guy. He kind of looked nerdy, but Merri knew never to judge a book by its cover. Since she was not going to willingly blow her cover, she felt that it would be better for herself and her teammates to position themselves strategically in the room, while they communicated psychically. That way, they could stand at any point they desired, and still pass across secret messages.

With a gesture of her mind, she established a thought projection link between herself and Jaden Banner. When the third member of their team showed up, she would include him (provided it was a male) in the platform. Her mouth closed, but her voice speaking in Jaden's head only, she said:

"Hello. I take it you're part of the mission, right? Assuming you're Mr. Jaden Banner, of course. It's better we speak this way, so that our target is not alerted of our presence. If we can surprise him, I suppose we'll have the advantage. Any idea where our third teammate is? And, forgive me for the intrusion of thoughts, by the way, but I feel this is necessary."

She did not for once glance towards Jaden. Instead, she looked at each person who looked important, assuming that the impostor would take the form of a big shot in order to gain access to the president. As she did so, she activated her Mind Probe, in an attempt to determine if anyone had any feelings of trepidation or unnecessary excitement. Such a person would be suspect number one. A slow process, but she hoped she would be lucky.

Mach made his way into the building. It was really no way he could hide or blend in so it was better that he hid in plain site and acted as security. As he arrived he would seek out the other two members he thought out loud. "I wonder what my teammates can do so I can better compliment their powers" he stated to himself as he combed through the crowd. He knew whoever the impostor was would not be easy to find so it was better if he kept an eye on the crowd as a whole. He would sort through them however to find his teammates he needed to know who to rule out right away in order to properly be ready. His eyes looked around and hopefully seeing as he was a big, black man with a weird mask on they would know to signal him or let him know somehow. He needed to know what the plan was or if their even was one. For now he would just try to make himself visible to them.

Unbeknownst to them, the Skrull was watching the crowd from their seat up on stage. One had to be aware of these situations when they were going after a political body. The woman who attempted to read thoughts would get the thoughts of every photographer out on the floor. However, when trying to get the thoughts, intentions, etc of the three members of congress sitting up on stage, each of them drew a blank. It was like they were not thinking. They were not even there. That, of course, was not right. The Skrull was simply using one of the abilities it had acquired to block off any telepathic broadcasts that were coming its way. A side effect of this was a ten meter radius that kept others near him safe. This meant the other two members of congress would appear to be blank aswell. The Skrull's identity was still secure. After a rather long wait, the president would finally make his way onto the stage to address the people. He waved his arms, gave his smile, and began to answer questions regarding his new term as the United States President. The congress members simply sat with wide smiles as they listened to the speech. One of them was gunning for the man just a few meters infront of them. When the time was right, they'd get to them. There was no rush. These earthlings didn't have the fight in them.

Jaden took Out his Notepad and pen to start writing anything Were-Like?. He saw two of his teammates behind him. He said to himself" this is good when Fight start we be ready, And see if i can trust my 2 teamates in the back of me?"

He Pull out his Little Toy out of his Hidden Pocket to make sure it is ok then put it back in it hidden pocket. He thought to himself" Well it time to see if you can be the best hero in the world today if i die i will die for a good cause!"

As Merri watched the politicians and photographers and everyone else, she caught sight of something, or someone peculiar. A tall guy, wearing a mask. That had to be their teammate... it couldn't be the Skrull, since the creature was trying hard to conceal itself, Merri assumed. She focused on him and probed with her mind. His emotions were... expectant... like he was searching. Had to be their third teammate. She included him in the thought projection platform and spoke directly into his mind, while letting Jaden Banner take part in the discussion.

"Uh, hey, big guy. I take it you're here to find the impostor, right? Heh. You're like a give-away, but it's alright. Now we've found ourselves, I suppose we can focus directly on this mission. I suppose it would be in our best interests to keep up this telepathic link, so that our target won't have any idea what we're up to. So, who's got a plan?"

She turned away from him and resumed her scan. Everyone seemed like they were in the right place. No out of the ordinary emotions from anyone. Merri sighed and shook her head slowly. This was turning out to be rather troublesome. She looked at the empty podium, then continued her search. Just when she felt like she had covered everyone in the room, the president came in to do what it was he did. Merri rolled her eyes with slight exasperation, hoping that the mission was not a wild goose chase...

And she saw the people upstairs. She focused on them, albeit not very seriously. However, when her probe reached the congress members up there, she frowned. "Something is not right..." she whispered to herself. She tried probing again, but to no avail. She moved her probe to others beyond the congress members, and was able to get emotional readings from them. her heart began to beat slightly faster.

"Guys, it seems I'm on to something. You see the congress guys up there? Well, I can't read their emotions. Um, that's one of the other stuff I'm capable of, by the way. I'll need to concentrate to see if I can get through to them; it's like I'm being blocked or something. I'm not sure I'll be too alert while I'm focusing, so one of you should keep an eye on the president, while the other should still sweep the room for suspicious behaviour. I want to believe we've found the impostor, but this might still be a decoy."

After sending the message through to her teammates mentally, she walked over to an obscure corner where she could look at the congressmen without easily being spotted. Then she strained with her mind, in an attempt to breach the psychic barrier and find out the source of this anomaly.

"Ok ....first off have any of you guys ever dealt with these aliens before? Because I have so going about without a plan is not going to work. Obviously it has to be someone on stage but once the skrull is revealed it is gonna go down he will no longer be held by the boundaries of his guise and will not let anyone in this room survive to conceal it's identity. The first phase of our plan should be to get everyone out of here except for the people on that stage. Based on what I have seen that woman is most likely to be the Skrull obviously. So everyone but her......if I am wrong I can run the others down with my speed as a plan B. I also need to know what everyone can do so we can all compliment our strengths and weaknesses the best we can. We need to come at this thing as a tight knit unit or we are not gonna make it. Me personally my ability is super speed.....what about you all?

The president continued his speech, and the three congress members simply watched with their smiles. They had an image to keep, after all. To no avail would the telepath be able to break the superior Skrull's mind blocking abilities. Sadly they had to still wait till the president's speech was complete. They looked across the room, scanning everyone. Two of them were looking for cameras to smile at, yet one was looking for any potentials that may become a target. Things were about to get abit heavy..

Jaden said to Mach" Well i Can turn into the Hulk, and if the alien want to go face to face i can knock him out". He was Walking Around the Room until He stop at a Dark Part of the Wall so he Stand there and look at the thing he brought with him.

"Well, I'm a bit of a telepath. I can read emotions, and can link my mind with others, so we can gossip and stuff without having to talk out loud... like we're doing now. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to perform mental attacks... oh, I can also throw small cars pretty well."

Merri made a muffled, frustrated sound as she gave up on continuing the mind probe. "Damn straight it's one of those congress men. Else, why would someone take such pains to hide their thoughts? And last time I looked, mind blocking was not a course in political science. Okay, so we need to flush out the room, right?"

Merri took a few more pictures, so as not to look suspicious in the least. Jaden, you said you could turn into a... hulk? Okay, I suppose that has something to do with strength and stuff. Okay, here's my idea, up for review by you guys: Jaden goes hulk. People panic and make for the exits. I apprehend the woman suspect. Mach, you cover me, go for the others, in case it's a wrong guess, like you said. I'm likely going to get attacked almost immediately, and I don't have any form of invulnerability, so as I apprehend, I attempt to dodge, and Hulk ploughs into the impostor. If we can end this with one attack, which sadly, is very unlikely, it would be swell... and that's about the size of it. What do you guys think?"

She hoped that the impostor would not get impatient and make a jump for the president, while they were mind-skyping. But it wasn't likely, since it was most likely being prudent.

"Good plan but we are doing it backwards......Skrulls have different abilities and we don't know what this one has it's best if I snag her so if things heat up I can pull out faster. Something like a telepath guy you should take care of the camera's like time now. They are swarming everywhere. Hulk in training you should do your thing now we have already wasted to much time talking. Soon as you two are done I'll snag the woman before you can blink." With that said mach hoped they understood there was no more time for idle talk. The president had wrapped up his speech and if one of those things dared to impersonate the President then the entire country would be in for one hell of a ride. Mach would do a quick nod to let them know it was time. "Remember cameras and panic. Lets go"

The president finished his speech and people began to raise their hands for questions. The Skrull was getting impatient at this moment. Focusing towards a reporter in the crowd, the Skrull would send out a brainwave that would be directed solely upon them. With the being now under the Skrulls control through hypnotizing, the reporter would attempt to bum-rush the president like a mad man looking for blood. The president saw the man's charged and would back away, as human nature was to avoid things of conflict, while his security guards would tackle the man down to the ground. The three members of congress would stand and huddle by the president. They asked if he was okay. Of course he was, right? This little stunt would most likely take the attention of the photographers as they'd be sure to take pictures of the attackers. The Skrull took this time to place a hand on the president's shoulder and shake his hand. "Good to see you're alright, sir." The others did the same, as they watched the scene infront of them. What kind of assassin charged out with a camera? That was a good question, hehe..The Skrull wouldn't stop their fun here. Watching the scene, and giving no indication they were any different than the other congress men, they would use their sorcery to give the effects of telekinesis. The lights in the room would begin to shatter back to back to back, causing the room to go from being well lit, to suddenly becoming dark. The doors would then swing close and lock, keeping everyone in the room in panic mode.

One moment, everything was okay, and the next, the whole situation went to hell in a well packaged hand basket. Some oaf went charging for the president. Merri started, then quickly tried her mind probe on the reporter, before glancing at the congress men. They seemed to be as frightened as the president, but then, it could all be a big farce. Merri shook her head. Something about that attack was not right. And the mind probe had revealed something else interesting. The reporter's emotions had felt... for lack of a better word, affected.

Now would be a good time to start getting into action, but there was the issue of Jaden getting angry before he could transform. And then the lights started going out permanently. "Sorry; I'll have to fall out of line a bit, if we hope to get all these innocents out of harm's way and get the sleaze behind all this. Mr. Speed guy, focus on the targets. I'll handle Jaden and everyone else. Besides, the lights going out will kind of take care of the cameras for us, since I'm not powerful enough to do something about all of them at once. Oh, and I'm a girl, just in case you want to make it a habit of calling me 'guy'."

She ended the psychic transmission with a slight chuckle, then suddenly spun, and without warning, flung her camera straight at Jaden's face, as she ran for the door. "Sorry about this, Jaden..." As the camera would connect with Jaden's nose, unless he dodged, Merri threw her weight into the door with her shoulder. The door was certainly not made to withstand such force, so it would go down. Then she quickly rolled out of the way to avoid any stampedes. Knowing human beings, they would pause, then make for the exit. Which was kind of the plan.

Merri hoped Mach would be right on his first guess. With this chaos, it would be easy to lose someone.

The speedster would begin to make his way toward the woman but for some reason he felt weird. "She did something to me". Was said as he would run off to the corner before he fell to the floor unconscious. His hand would rise up before he spoke to the woman in his head. Beware of his power. He would keep speaking these words over and over before the transmission between them ended. Mach would be seemingly unconscious leaving them to their own wits. He now lay on the floor in the darkness leaving the rest of the team to handle the skrull.

With the place brimming with madness, the Skrull would take this chance to get the president where he wanted him. People scurried about, attempting to leave the room, yet the skrull, posing as one of the congressmen, would grab the president's shoulder. Forcefully pulling the president back stage, the skrull would use sorcery to have the telekinetic effects once again. This time it would pull on the support beams in the room, and literally rip them asunder, sending the ceiling down. The ceiling would fall between the stage, and the actual ground where people were at, to keep them separated from getting to the congressmen. Keeping the president in hand, the Skrull would shape shift into his form. This included even clothes. If the heroes continued to linger, the skrull would soon finish the job of its mission.

You are all wrong, Then his Heart Pumping Really Fast, That other self want out. Jaden try not to trigger the change, but his anger won, the green eyes came out. He fell his jacket geting tighter it was too late to stop it the change is starting. The Skin Color began to change into a green color, his pants rip to the point into homemade shorts. His fingers nalls grow into claws, His green hair starting to make it long as the red headband rip from his head. Also his Green Jacket and White Shris is also Rip to the point of no comeback.

Jaden.D.Knight Was Nomore there was the Emo Hulk. The Emo Hulk Start Thowning Chairs and Tables at random placing in the building which they are in. He saw Peoples running away from the emo hulk. The Emo Hulk Yell Loud to tell his Teammates that he is Out.

Merri blinked twice as the speedster warned about the skrull's power, and then the connection to him went dead. That would mean he was unconscious. She sighed and shook her head. "Big help you are, speed man..." Speaking of which, where was the president? As she turned in the initial direction of the president, she happened to glimpse the president dragged backstage, and the ceiling suddenly caved in between them, effectively blocking any would be disturbances. Okay, that was good news and bad news. The good news was, perhaps she had just caught glimpse of the real skrull. The bad news was, the way was blocked. And now was the time she needed her team...

A chair narrowly missed her head. Spinning, she noticed a huge green monster throwing stuff about. That was most likely Jaden's hulk. Merri groaned. At this rate, this creature would be more harm than help, if he couldn't face his mission objectives. But as she dawdled, the president was probably having his brains eaten out by the impostor. Merri ran over to the debris that barred her passage, and pulled out a metal support beam. Aiming for the walls adjacent to the blocked doorway, Merri used the beam as a ramrod to punch her way through the walls. She hoped that the skrull would not have run off with the president, because if that was the case, with its mind blocking ability, she would be unable to track it.

Fortunately for her, the skrull probably did not expect anyone with superhuman strength to join the show, because it was just beyond the debris, attempting to turn into the president. That was alarming. Merri charged in, aiming a blow at the skrull's face, in the hopes of getting it away from the president. The president's life was the most important; dealing with the skrull was well, almost just as important.

"Get away from the president, you wannabe!" she yelled, as she made her attack. A rather reckless attack, but given that she had little time to think up a good strategy, her options were limited. She tried making contact with the Hulk; after all, she hadn't broken her connection with him. With any luck, he would still understand English.

"Uh, Jaden? Hulk? Hello? Impostor mission underway! I need help, pronto!"

The Skrull would then get some weird temporal disturbance from his device cloaking his thoughts. It would cause a psychic backlash, knocking him out entirely.

The Emo Hulk hear someone talking into there share brain. The Knight Side hear his fellow teammate calling to go after the evil dude. The Emo Hulk Shake his head to tell his friend that he will help. But the Emo hulk said to his teammate" Ok i will help you, But in return will you help me find someone that need a monster for there team."

The Emo Hulk Grab a steel pipe and said to the down skullhead" Emo Smash, Emo Bash!" He Rush to the down skullhead and bash his head with the pipe a few times. The Emo hulk fell happy beating someone up for the great of good. He yell to the sky. He left the body for his teammate and said this" Finsh Him!

The Emo Hulk With a Steel Pipe arm was just waiting.

The skrull suddenly collapsed, and even though Merri noticed this, she still went through with the punch. She couldn't be sure if it wanted to play a funny trick on her or something. The blow connected, sending the skrull's limp body crashing into the debris which it had originally created to block her team out. Merri cocked her head to one side and watched the downed foe, then she decided to try something. On using her mind probe, she discovered that whatever ability the skrull had been using to guard its thoughts was gone. The skrull was really down and out.

"Well, isn't this dandy? Can't say I'm complaining, though, if... eeeeeeek!"

She had totally forgotten that she'd asked the Hulk to come over and help out, or she hadn't expected him to answer. Which was why she was caught by surprise when he came charging in with a steel pipe. Merri just stared, with eyes wide as saucers, as the Hulk dealt the unconscious skrull some nasty blows to the head. Fortunately, the skrull was still alive, according to her probe. In response to the Hulk's... well, suggestion, for lack of a better word, she said, her voice a little exasperated: "That would be a no, Mr. Hulk. I think this creature is of more use to us alive. I guess we need to start getting ourselves out of here before the Feds swarm all over us..."

So saying, she rummaged among the debris for steel rods or other such sturdy material that she could wrap (with some effort) around the skrull's body. That ought to act as a make-up restraint, provided it wasn't strong enough to rip metal apart. With any luck, before the skrull would recover, they would be through getting whatever information was necessary. She would carry the skrull by herself, because she didn't want to chance the Hulk using it for a baseball bat, if he was allowed to carry it. And speaking of carrying people...

"Hey, where's Speedy? Is he still out yet?" If he was, she would make her way out of the room where the skrull was, and pick him up. If he was already awake, she would wait for him to join up with them. Either way, when the team was together again, she would pick up the team's trophy (the skrull, of course) and make a hasty exit.

The hulk Fainting and fall down to the Debrad of the battleground. Then Someing Awesome happen to the hulk. The Skin Color change back into flesh, He Shrke back to his human countpart. They Out of the blue the hulk was gone and Jaden have came back with lost of time. He stand up with his rip pants on and saw one of his teammates and the evil dude. He ask" Damm i did all of this?" He ask his awesome teammate" Thank for helping me with this, I think the Emo hulk ask you if you can find a team for him to join?, Almost Forgot If you need anything i be at my lab it underground in New York."

Just for Fun Jaden Punch the Down Alien a few time until he stop and look at his teammate.
