A Chance Encounter![Tali]

Grimshaw was in his usual state, working hard and almost obsessively, fine tuning all of his machines, so that they worked properly always. They were still in fairly good shape, but he changed out some of the slightly over worked parts and made sure to change out some of the old bits and pieces that were going to break... in a few years. Yes, Grimshaw often obsessed over his machines, but this was because currently, his machines were all he had. According to his sources, the reason for the sudden shift in the ownership and leadership of Shield, was because someone killed the previous leader and took over. That was why the new agency was called Hammer, or some such thing. Regardless, Grimshaw couldn't quite trust anyone really, not entirely, so he had his machines.

He would work long hours into the night and early morning to make sure everything was running accordingly, and that all of the data it was collecting would get processed in a timely manner. This meant that he had to work late and drink a lot of coffee, but soon he was going to invent something to get rid of these weaknesses his body had. He did however enjoy sleeping and dreaming. Because when he was in REM sleep, he could lucidly dream, meaning he could control them, and when his mind wandered in his dream, he was able to draft up some of his best ideas for inventions, much like his Lazarus Chambers. It all starts with the need to invent. It isn't a want, nor a dream or goal, it was a need.

When he was young, he wanted to be an inventor extremely badly, so bad that he was willing to do anything. So, after months of pestering a once renowned inventor to teach him, the man told him to meet him at a lake. So, Grimshaw met him at the lake, and asked how badly Grimshaw wanted to learn, and convinced him to wade out into the water. The more badly he wanted it, the deeper he had to go. The inventor then stuck Grimshaw's head under the water, until he was about to drown and pass out, and then lifted up his head. Grimshaw would never forget the words that were said, and lived his life by this mantra. "Once you feel the need to do something as badly as you need to breathe, then you'll make it happen." Grimshaw was a bit lost in his thoughts.

The small office she had been recently given didn't have any comfort to it yet. Granted, it was a quiet place to think, and she had a lot of that to do considering her first day on the job and she already had been practically molested and humiliated by her new Boss. Who, incidentally, she didn't even know the name of yet. She wondered if she ever even would. Making a note to see if she could weasel it out of him tonight, she anxiously paced around the room a moment trying to decide what to do now. On one hand, she could just curl up in the chair and take a nap to kill time. On the other, she could go ahead and start doing what he had assigned her to and start looking around for any agents that might be hanging around this place. The second choice seemed like it would be more interesting and productive for her.

And with this sudden decision, she made her way to the door and pulled it open. After walking into the hall, she swung it closed behind her and started walking to the right. She would listen for sounds of life, disappointed to find the place strangely quiet and deserted looking besides a security guard every now and then. It wasn't until after a awhile of backtracking and getting lost in the maze of the unfamiliar place, feeling claustrophobic by the closed in and extremely solid walls, she heard noises. Faintly, it sounded like the clinking of metal and whurr of machinery. The door that was leaking it drew her attention and she walked up to it half expecting it to be locked. It wasn't, she realized, when it swung open almost too easily. Obviously, this door was used more often then her own office door was.

Talius stepped in, cautiously looking around as the assault of various small sounds on her ears made her realize there was machinery everywhere in the sizable room. It struck her as being a lab of some sort, and the apparent scientist was bent over something in a corner. Not know if he had heard her come in, she spoke as she walked slowly towards him. Though, she mainly had eyes for the technology. Oh, to get her hands on some of the things in this room...she could spend weeks in here and would be happy to wither away to nothing among it. "Impressive collection you've got going here." Her accent, Germanic sounding with a growling purr to it, made the word 'here' sound like 'eareh' Clearing her throat, she reminded herself to talk cleared or he may not understand her. Talius tried again, brushed a strand of vibrant red hair away from her brilliant green eyes. "Sorry for my intrusion, but I couldn't help but look. I'm fascinated technology; This place is a copy of my favorite dreams." Hoping he would overlook the fact she was wearing a leather skirt and jacket over a tight black shirt, she wondered if he would be more civil then the Boss was.
