The Daily Bugle

Senator Hines has revealed how mutants will be handled: Sentinels.

A rumor traveled the circles of the supernatural. Mutants heard a safe, underground railroad was being started, inquire at the Summit. The beyond sought the strange power said to rest at the Summit of New York City. The gossip flitted amongst the rest: valuable information was to come to light when dawn broke over the Summit.

O' For Normality [P] Empty
PostSubject: O' For Normality [P]   O' For Normality [P] EmptySat Nov 03, 2012 11:00 pm

The day had started out much like any other, the same dreary tags of life blowing in the wind.
Another day, another short clip of the farce his life had become before he shut his eyes again. Eventually he had been forced to deal with the repercussions of severing his times with the mobs. Even the ones he had gotten along with. He had been forced to get a new phone, as they were continually tracking him down via his old one. Kaku wasn't sure what was happening to his parents, but he desperately, desperately hoped that they were alright.
It was stress that was occurring the change on him. It had only really been noticeable in recent months, but his hair line was beginning to - vanish. Which wasn't quite the truth. The protruding follicles of keratin were slowly turning white. It was a delayed effect as hair was made up mostly of dead coloured skin. His formerly dusk/dirty blonde was slowly mutating into a dull grey, with the edges bordering on pure white.
As a result of this rather change, Kaku had taken to donning a wide hat and retaining it on his head.
The truth of the matter was fairly simple. The phoenix force that he had played a temporary host too, was meant for someone with a much greater degree of power, which was why it had manifested itself so strongly within him literally bursting out the edges, his own control of it nothing to his fellow hosts who had been able to integrate it into their own skill set with a almost freakishly rapid assimilation.
Instead he alone had struggled with keeping it contained. And the strain was showing now, the effort of his cells only now coming too light.

As it was, the sunlight found his form situated within a open park of sorts, having just bought a new pair of clothes to deal with his body finally deciding to become more adult. He was placed on a park bench, his legs curled under the hollow curling stone, his eyes darting back and forth across the water and to the designs litered across the stone he rested upon, the cool rock beneath forming a comforting anchor. Cold was good, cold was slow and steady. Right now, he wanted to avoid heat as much as possible, feeling as if he could become as cold and as remote as he could, his body's transition would slow and stop.

But it wouldn't. Only something else could achieve that.

A steady tempo of a skidding rope resounded from the sidewalk. Two small feet alternating in steps added to this music. Tiny hands gripped pink handles while those wrists effortlessly twirled to continue the moving jump rope; and short brown hair tousled about with each hop. The child wore a shirt and shorts that was a matching green color.

He seemed full of bliss as he practiced his jump roping skills. Each hop set him forward, and his destination involved passing behind a lone stranger sitting on a park bench. A large hat cast his face in shadows and discolored hair pour from his cover.

A whisper fluttered through the air and rustled the leaves of the trees."Is that what you truly wish for?"

Click
The skipping rope twirled around in the air, sending the many memories of violence coalescing in mental congruence along it's surface, representing both danger and excitement. He hadn't been hurt many times, and had quickly developed a ability to render himself impregnable to the pain that many others suffered on a daily basis. Did that make him a coward? Did it make him less then a man?
Tap
The child's feet touched the ground, leaping out of the path of the returning rope, and then the following 'click' from the rope touching the ground, it's protective casing fulfilling it's intended purpose in life.
Did it say something about his situation that Kaku was envious of a piece of rope? Nay, less then that. The plastic covering the rope. The pawn protecting the king.
"Is that what you truly wish for?"
It was quite suddenly, the trees didn't seem so loud anymore, the child's activities leached out of the world as his entire perception of reality tunnelled down into whatever he imagined those were to mean.
A picture of his parents. His biological propagators. Did he really feel like he needed them any more? In the beginning he had felt that. But now, having done so much, having learned the lessons that he had. He felt that he was more then them. And it didn't mean he was reliant on their personage to exist.
So no, his parents were not it.
What had been the question to begin with. What did he wish for? Kaku mentally bemoaned it. Generalist and reductionist in one. Not being very specific. Was he? Had it been he who had asked the question or someone else? Did it really matter? When it came down to it, no it didn't.
So Kaku only shrugged and decided to play along with himself or whatever.

And he nodded.

The scuffling of the jump rope ceased abruptly. The sounds of everyday life melted from existence. Time seemed to slow then. Joggers were forced to a crawling speed and leaping canines seemed frozen in a jump. The vividness of the surrounding area also dimmed as if its color were stolen.

"Then your wish...is my command." This voice was a mingled distortion of youth and something not of this world. If the target in question did look behind him, he'd see a young boy with a limp jump rope. This boy's face would be void of emotion as he peered at the older individual. This boy would not be the teen's opponent, however. It would be at that moment that long, chilling fingers would grazed the side of his neck in an attempt to close around his throat.

This creature would have arms the length of six feet with a towering height of twelve. The creature would be lanky save for a bulging stomach, and have a short face with inquisitive voids for orbs.

If the skipping rope stopped. Kaku didn't noticed. If the Frisbees stayed suspended in the air without facial recognition sparking from an apparent defiance of the natural working of the order. And with ever cause. You have an effect. That effect was the being who had slowly disentangled itself from the air, reversing the order of apparent osmosis that had applied to it formerly.
Whether it had been there before or not was unimportant to Kaku, who merely rotated his head away from the apparent location, to look along his shoulder line to glimpse frozen frame of the world around him. No real reaction flickered across his face aside from a calm, empty acceptance. How long had he defied death now? His only companions had been taken from him by one who had offered him additional power. Would it not make sense that one who offered to take it away from him would make him happier?
Mentally Kaku stirred, almost excited to hear that he might see the Primach, the Prince, the Farseer and even the Warboss once again. With the longstanding foundations of his personality removed, he had been less then a man. He had been a shadow of what he had formerly been.
As the long spindly fingers fell onto his thorax with a lover's gentle caress, his eyes drifted shut and a single word escape from parted lips.
"Please,"

Each digit wrapped around the boy's throat in a languorous pace. The creature was bidding its time enough, enjoying the feel of soft flesh under. The boy was like a lamb at the slaughterhouse. In the face of death, he was humble, willing. Had the creature been here to slay, this boy would have been its easier prey yet.

The creatures remaining hand came and lightly caressed the boy's face in its journey toward the forehead. Fingers came together into a point and slowly sunk into his forehead. Its limb disappeared as it continued to delve into the deepest part of the stranger's being. It eventually reached the point it sought, and its submerged arm began moving as if it were searching for something.

Slowly, more of the strange being's arm reappeared from the boy's head. As it made its exit, light beaming from this "hole" would intensify. Upon the last section of the creature's fingers escaping, the light pooled out and engulfed the scenery. When the light had subsided, life had returned to its normalcy and the creature which stood before the boy had vanished.

If the teen had bothered to peer behind him, he would notice the the jump rope child had also disappeared as well.

O' For Normality [P] Empty
PostSubject: Re: O' For Normality [P]   O' For Normality [P] EmptyMon Nov 05, 2012 10:03 pm

A paranormal teen sat on the bench in front of the lake, in front of him stood a creature that wrapped the imagination, so horrific that the universe stopped to ponder it's existence.

As the long liquid-like fingers curled around his Adam's Apple, Kaku's heartbeat fluttered like a caged bird beneath the grip. Leaning into the grasp, Kaku pondered making a last minute attempt to escape, retain whatever normally he might have originally harboured.
But wasn't the whole point of this to return to his 'normal'? He hadn't been normal since he teleported away. And now, his powers teleported from him.

And so a normal teen sat on a bench in front of the lake, empty air surrounding him. He stood up, and shivered slightly in the coming chill. Time to leave.
