San Francisco's College for the Arts [Supergirl] Empty
PostSubject: San Francisco's College for the Arts [Supergirl]   San Francisco's College for the Arts [Supergirl] EmptyFri Nov 02, 2012 3:17 am

Tara Strong, also known as Pulse, would be standing infront of a large portrait with a number of spectators around her. She wasn't wearing her Pulse costume, and was for once, in civilian clothes. She currently work a pink shirt with blue jeans and converse. Her hair was tied into a pony tail, just to offset the fact Pulse's hair was usually down and flowing about freely. Clenching her chin between her index finger and thumb, the art major would tilt her head to the side for a few seconds before snapping her fingers. "Oh, now I see it! It's a cat!" The blonde exclaimed with her bubbly voice, as the spectators simply coughed and looked at her. This art exhibit was supposed to be something special for the school, and it was bringing in the public to get some recognition. Tara was focused on graphic design and interior design so that was the main reason she was there. She had created a masterpiece of her own. She was a fellow student after all. The Macreedy's had covered for her, during her time away, simply by saying he had gotten the swine flu. How brutal! The reality behind that was more complicated though. You see, the fake Tara was the one that went to school here. She was the one with the skills in art, so when the real Tara Strong returned, and was thrust into this school in her place..let's just say things weren't the same. Her art skills, in all theory, should have been on the same level as the impostor's, but she obviously didn't believe this. As the tour group made it to her exhibit, a young student, by the name of Ashley, would be waiting. Ashley was apparently the fake Tara's best friend. One couldn't help but wonder if she was a Skrull aswell. This made Tara extremely cautious when around her. "Looks like you're up, airhead. I'm sure you'll do fine. These artsy people see art in everything. Trust me, Little Miss Terror, you'll do great." The dark skinned girl gave Tara a smile, and the young blonde would return the smile. If she was a Skrull impostor, she was doing one hell of a job! "Ha! Yea I totally got this!" Tara turned towards the crowd and gave a slight bow. "My name is Tara Strong! I like long walks on the beach, holding hands in the park, and even..dare I say..Kissing?! This is my art project! I call it..Castle de la Tacos!" And on cue, Ashley would pull the curtain to reveal a ten foot high, highly detailed castle made of pure taco shells. It was truly a master piece, but Tara had some help on her side. With alittle bit of increased perception, super speed, and accelerated probability, it only took literally three seconds to get such a detailed creation going. However, these people would think it took days. Even weeks! The young blonde would get her claps, and Tara would bow her head with a smug smile. "Thank you! Thank you sooo much!" The crowd of people would move onto the next student, and Tara would turn towards Ashley with a thumbs up. "I was totally not worried at all!" The dark skinned female responded by doing an over exaggerated sigh and clenching her heart. "I don't know! You reappearing out of nowhere looking younger than the last time I saw you..and even slightly shorter, made me think you were like someone else, girl. Luckily my imagination was just playing tricks on me haha! Good job! What do you plan on doing with the sculpture now? I th-.." Her voice trailed off as she noticed Tara was gone. Turning towards the sculpture, the speedster was already eating the tacos in a greedy fashion. What a piggy!

Walls were littered with color and shapes one had to use an imagination to decipher. Portraits and landscapes crafted from an array of paints nestled in between the shapes. Sculptures varying from daring to strange stood strong on the grounds of the interior and small hordes of people circled around the pieces in light conversation.

Many would call her uncultured from her lack of understanding concerning art. She couldn't gather how shapes with random placement on a page could be seen as art. Her mentality was if she could recreate it then maybe one should be skeptic. Despite her ends with art, she found herself wandering into a student art exhibit hosted by their school.

The girl seemed to be slightly under dressed for the occasion with her sweater, skirt and sneakers. Only the artists were allowed to dress as they pleased it was apart of their craft. The normal populace weren't dressed as such.

A large number of people began accumulating around the center stage, so she followed-suit. Upon the main stage was a blond female and her assistance. After, a comical and unrelated introduction to the situation it was time to see her weeks-maybe months of hard work.

The air was rippling with anticipation, she was sure. Breaths stilled, and eyes fixated on the hand which held the cord of power. Gravity brought the cord to its knees, which drew the curtains back to reveal the spectacular...spectacular tacos? A soft snort could be made out within the crowd of appreciators. Lauren's hand clasped around her mouth to prevent not only her own embarrassment, but that of the arias as well.

A quick glance around her showed contemplative artists and their fans studying the piece. The tall beauty had to shake her head at the bunch. This was art? The applauds of the crowd signaled Tara's departure from the stage, so Lauren's feet set her in motion toward this budding artist. Lauren found Tara seated at the foot of her sculpture, or parts of it. It seemed the temptations of food art were too difficult to resist.

Approaching her, Lauren gave Tara one of her brightest smiles and said,

"Your work shows no effort what so ever, but it does look good. Can I have a bite of that?" She finished while pointing at one of the tacos.

Tara looked over her shoulder, her cheeks puffed and filled with tacos. She narrowed her eyes as she swallowed the shells and patted herself off. "What? I totally- MUNCH! "-Put alot of work into this! You think giant taco castles make themselves?!" Tara wagged her finger to the blonde female that had a close resemblance to herself. For a second, she thought her impostor had escaped, and had returned to try and take its false life back. Luckily, this wasn't the case. No, this girl was different. Simply from mannerisms and her voice. Tara couldn't help but give a sigh of relief, as she raised a hand with a smug smile for a handshake. "My name's Tara Strong! It's a pleasure to meet you!" She purposely moved around the question of sharing a "bite." If there was one thing Tara was, it was greedy about food. She loved it abit too much. Sometimes she figured even without her powers, she would still eat like a garbage disposal on overdrive. The young blonde put a finger on her lip while looking at Lauren up and down. "I haven't seen you around here before. You look young enough to be a student, but you're not a student are ya?" Oh she sure was the world's greatest detective by the standard of that brief analysis. And I don't think I need to clue you in that that was complete sarcasm and nothing more! "Are you into artsy stuff too?"

Tara's cheeks swelling with food was a sight to see and her lame rebuttal was the final piece to turn Lauren's smile into a full blown grin. "Looks like you've put more work into eating than actually creating." She responded.

The artist expelled a sigh, possibly her body way to tell her to give it a breather, and shoved out her hand in Lauren's direction. Her open palm was decorated with taco shell residue and meat juice. Without hesitation, Lauren answered Tara's greeting with a handshake and an introduction,

"Tara Strong, huh? Powerful name. Lauren Colbert's mine."

Oh, and she realized Tara disregarded her request for food. Either the girl hadn't heard her, or she was blatantly rejecting her. Lauren deiced to settle with the former, because that seemed less rude. Lauren awarded Tara with a bemused smile at her brilliant deductive responding.

"I'm a student" she began, "but not from this school. You'll find me at UCSF. And no, I'm so not into art. That's why I'm here. But seriously, I don't always get it, but I can appreciate it, right?"

Tara noticed the taco leftovers on her hands and cleared her throat in an embarrassed manner. Patting her hands off on her jeans, she'd give a smug smile to the young woman. "I'm not the art type either, which is ironic since I attend an art based college! It's a pleasure to meet you, Lauren!" The bubbly female gave her usual smug smile, as her keen green eyes would stare into Lauren's baby blue abyss. For a second, Tara would be completely silent before scrunching her nose. "So, I need an excuse to get out of here. Maybe you could help me? I could give you a 'tour' of San Francisco's most artistic monuments! Oh it'd be totally cool too!" Tara clasped her hands around the Lauren's and seemed to hop up and down at the thought. She was like a little girl. A child at heart. Even if the woman refused, Tara would start making her strides towards the exit pulling Lauren with her. "Ashley, you can handle the rest right? I'll totally be back in a Flash!" The moment she said "Flash" her eye winced. Only for a millisecond though. Her dark skinned friend would cross her arms and shake her head. "Only because I owe you." The young blonde waved to her friend and pulled Lauren out the front door and out onto the side walk that led off campus. "Sorry for kidnapping you, but the sooner I was out of there the better. I'm not a fan of school at all, and the fact they force us to do all that isn't helping the case. But what do I know, I'm just an average girl trying to get a good job in the future." Tara knocked on her own head gently, while making a goofy expression. "Anyway, have you ever been here in San Francisco before, or are you fresh meat?" The green eyed blonde would give her usually smug grin while placing her hands on her hips.

One lone brow rose, in question at Tara's statement. "That's weird. How did you wind up at an art school then?"

Tara's smile certainly was contagious. Lauren found herself mirroring the girl's smirk. "So, you're already taking advantage of me? We've just met!" The girl paid no mind when Tara's hand grabbed a hold of hers once more. She merely assumed Tara was overly affectionate, but at the next moment, her body was being tugged along by the energetic Tara. She announced her exit without a second thought, leaving her friend with little choice, but to agree. Seemed like this artist was a woman of action, and that pleased Lauren.

She waved away Tara's apology. "No need. I was ready to leave anyway." And then came the question of her residency. Lauren cupped her chin as she gave the question a momentary thought. "Mm..I live town outside of here. I've hadn't taken the time to explore San Fran much. So, I guess I am fresh meat." She finished and looked at Tara. "So, what's this about Flash? Are you a fan?"

Tara's eye twitched at the word "Flash" which caused her to playfully giggle beneath her breath. "Eh hehe..Umm not exactly..But anyway, I got to an art college because I hear interior decorators can gets loads of cash. Call me shallow, but I'm in it for the moolah!" The young blonde rubbed her hands together before laughing. "Well, let's go get something to eat! I know this awesome place down near the piers that serves the spiciest ribs I've ever tasted! It's cooked and sold by a guy named Jack "Sparerib"! He's really cool!" Tara wrapped and arm around the fellow blonde's and began to walk down the side walk with her. "Sorry for being so touchy feely, but it's been awhile since I've had someone to spend time with, close to my own age!" Well in reality she was twenty three, but she did look seventeen. Side affects from having decelerated ageing. "So umm..Are you a Miss Flash fan or anything? She's not that special! But, I really like the new hero that's popped up. She's so much cooler..and stuff." Tara gave a nervous laugh. This was pretty bad to talk about. Very risky. This bubbly personality of hers was probably gonna be her downfall one day, but ever since she had escaped from the Skrull lab she was looking for a friend. A true one. Maybe next time she went missing, someone would actually come looking for her. That's much better than disappearing for six years with no one batting in eye lash in worry.

With a snort, Lauren rolled her eyes at Tara's "deep" confession. "You have to be talented to make it. I think you might be in the wrong field if your best works consist of tacos." At the mention of food, Lauren's hand found its way to her slim stomach. She certainly was hungry seeing that her new bud neglected to share her tacos. Wait, didn't she just eat at least three servings worth of tacos? How could she be possibly hungry again? She must have a substantially high metabolism.

Tara locked arms with Lauren once more as if it were meant to be there and apologized again for being herself. Lauren had half a mind to chide Tara on this apparent habit, but there would probably be other times. She seemed like a very outgoing person, so Lauren wondered why it was possible for her not to have many friends around her age. "You seem like a pretty cool chick and you don't smell bad, so what's up?" she asked with a cock of her head.

Lauren smiled more so to herself than to her companion. "She's all right, I guess, but flying just seems so much cooler. And jeez, relax!" She chided, "So you don't like Flash. Who is this better hero, anyway?"

"I umm..Travel alot and stuff. So I never stick around long enough to make any really good friends. I feel like I need to find someone who can truly keep up with me, if we're going to be the best of friends. It's a looong story." Tara's keen green eyes would shift to their corners, as if she were withholding something from the other blonde. She wasn't the best liar. Cleverly trying to change the subject, Tara would tug the girl's arm into her chest and give a puppy dog look towards her. "It doesn't matter, anyway! And yah, flying does seem totally twisted! But when they run super fast, they're all like ZOOOOOOM!" Tara made an actual loud zoom noise, as she pointed forward and used her hand like a car. Taking her arm back from the other female, the young blonde would cross her arms and look towards the sky. "Anyway, enough about that..Sorry for being so hyper. Maybe I'm more of a bother than an actual friend, huh?" She rubbed the back of her head with her left hand before advancing down the side walk alittle faster. Tara hoped the blonde didn't notice she didn't give a clear answer on who the "better hero" was. She was already talking too much as is. "A-anyway, the place is like a block away..Shouldn't be that much further.." As the nervous blonde gave an equally nervous giggle, a cop car would rush down the road with blaring sirens. Apparently something big was happening..Tara sighed.."Umm, actually Lauren..I hafta go. I forgot I had a certain thing to get done..Like right now. Literally now..and stuff.." The young blonde gave a nervous giggle before slowing backing away and running towards an alleyway. "I'll meet you back at the school!"
