Senator Hines has revealed how mutants will be handled: Sentinels.

A rumor traveled the circles of the supernatural. Mutants heard a safe, underground railroad was being started, inquire at the Summit. The beyond sought the strange power said to rest at the Summit of New York City. The gossip flitted amongst the rest: valuable information was to come to light when dawn broke over the Summit.

The Art of War Empty
PostSubject: The Art of War   The Art of War EmptyThu Nov 01, 2012 4:47 pm

The Nameless one would appear with a staff in hand. His Dark Force suit had receded to merely his pants as he stood bare chest and his sandals removed before entering the center of the mat. He had brought his counterpart to the mansion and now it was time to see just how developed she was. Sure he had probed her mind but what a person thought of themselves and old memories were not accurate all times. She had manifested on earth so her latent powers or at least some should have developed. These thoughts were usually off because some entities had low self esteem thinking too lowly of themselves or some of the more Narcissistic beings thought too highly of what they could do.

Nameless himself straddled the line of Machiavellian above the other psycho-dynamic flaws that were even present among apparitions. As his feet hit the soft texture of the mat that was laid across the red oak wood floor he would spend the staff between his fingers. Crimson pools of red that replaced pupils of the norm stayed fixated on the entrance waiting for his guest to arrive. The training room was not too shabby at all having the latest equipment. The training room as it was referred to could actually be broken down into various rooms. One room contained machines and free weights, another contained an indoor pool, Jacuzzi and spa, another had marksmanship type targets both paper and moving. The room they would be training in however was meant for hand to hand combat, and martial weaponry.

The area was adorned with melee weapons. Some were new and easily accessible while others were in cases and looked more unique and rare. The marts of course covered most of the floor except a narrow strip of walking space. Both ends of the mats were the arrangements of these martial weapons from spears both eastern and celtic to broadswords and katanas. Of all these weapons Nameless chose the staff however once the woman entered the room he would direct her to the area so she could pick her weapon of choice.

The guest in question appeared in the doorway of the training room. Tail swaying to a slow tempo, Mylia took a moment to admire the walls of threatening room. All corners of the wall were decorated with varies types of weapons, from short swords to even weapons whose origins hailed from overseas. She stepped into the training room, eyes locked onto her bare chested target. In his hand was a...a staff, was it? Yes, a staff. Cain also wanted the woman to choose her own weapon before approaching the mat. Obedient, she approached the closest wall and lamented over the endless choices: axes, spears, swords. She wasn't drawn to any of them, however.

Mylia abandoned the untouched weapons and stopped at the mat. Like Cain, she undid her sandals and cast them aside. She clenched both fists and held them up for Cain to see as she stepped onto the mat.

"These," she began, "Will do just fine."

"Very well" he stated as he cast the weapon aside and did a small bounce on the ball of his feet in a rhythmic motion. He would then begin to speak in his usual low tone of voice that mysteriously awoke all of the available acoustics within the room. "I guess we can work on lesson one. Lesson one being the second most valuable lesson I could ever teach you" with that said he charged straight for her before stopping at arms length giving no time in between the acceleration and the abrupt stop before a jab shot between her guard(the two raised fists) and his clamped down on her foot stapling her in position. The jap was loosely thrown and he would not close his fist until impact if there was any. This not only served as a more competent and effective punch but also blinded her line of vision for any follow up attacks he so chose to use.

Mylia half expected the towering figure to keep his weapon, but was somewhat relieved when he did not. The staff looked awfully solid to be hammered with. Attentive eyes heldfast to Cain's bouncing form as he spoke. She expected the man to reveal the answer to this lesson, and was caught off guard when Cain suddenly broke into a sprint. He seemed to vanish and reappear before her with an outstretched arm, and a hand opened wide. The open palm obstructed her vision, preventing her from retaliating with a punch of her own. Next, it was the Mylia's intention to evade the attack by stumbling backwards, only to realize his barefoot had hers locked to the floor. The hand closed into a fist and met squarely with her nose.

"Bloody...!" she cursed and tried to smack the man's arm away.

She took back all those kind thoughts she had of him. Cain was a cheat!

As her vision was blinded before the strike it left an opening as another hand shot right after this time an open palm to the base of the nose pushing upward. It was a straight blow from the hip in order to increase speed of the attack through technique and as not to choreograph the blow through shoulder movement. It would attempt to strike her directly after the last as the foot that stapled her down would be lifted with minimum space whether the last blow was successful or not and hook the back of the ankle and would be jerked forward to take her off balance. It both attacks were successful they would be done in a unified smooth transition. Id not than the heel sweep would be a standalone attack.

Eyes were squeezed shut from the initial assault and a pool of blood trickled from her bruise nose. She hadn't thought Cain would be so forceful. Didn't he recently say he wouldn't let anything happen to her? But now what's the time to ponder on such matters. She had to fight this man. Her eyes opened and caught sight of his remaining palm racing toward her face once more. She didn't have time to evade the assault. All she was capable of doing was throwing her head forward so her forehead met the palm head on. A rush of pain exploded in that affected area and Mylia flinched in reaction to it.

It was then she felt her body falling backwards. It seem during the ordeal, Cain had lifted his foot. She had also felt pressure behind her left ankle. With a tug, one leg and then the other flew up and she crashed onto the ground. She wanted to tend to her bruised spine, but prior experience warned her that this man wasn't going to cease his antics. When she hit the floor, the demoness barrel rolled to a safe direction before scrambling to her feet. There was no moment for rest. Mylia charged at Cain fist clenched. Her intention was clamp around his waist and force him to the floor.

His eyes narrowed as as he saw her charge for him. "What the hell....you charge at me with no form, no strategy no tactics?" He stated as he watched he come toward him. At the last minute he leaped to the side grabbing her horn in one hand and the material of her shirt in order to redirect her momentum and toss her to the ground. As he did so his elbow would be postured upward in order to block her arms/hands from gripping him. If she still clung to him he would lift a knee to her elbow to separate her before the force took him along also. If wall went as planned he would speak. "Use your mind....there will always be someone stronger...always someone faster....your best weapon is your wits. Focus .....you have power here. You need to focus! You are stronger than this......" He had surprised himself showing that much emotion over such a trivial matter but she needed to able to survive. It would be unacceptable that she is here without power...without talent. She needed to be able to survive. His powers had manifested when he was in a state of trauma and distress. He had to reenact the same thing with her.

Of course, Cain evaded her charge, but he didn't stop at that. The man had to grab hold of her horn and string her along. Mylia snarled as she was directed to by Cain's might. The man was apparently angry. His eyes raged and he spoke of tactics. But what did he want her to do?! She had never fought! She was the daughter of a farmer, not some warrior!

Mylia was unable to grasp Cain's waist; his elbow prevented her from doing so. Instead ,she let the momentum carry her, and at the last moment flung her tail around the man's ankle in hopes that he would lose his footing. If her ploy was a success, attaching herself to him would prevent her from being thrown however far the force would carry her. She would scramble to her feet and throw a barrage of fists at Cain while he was down.

Shadow was high in the sky, he scanned around for the right building that he was suppose to go to. He sped forward searching for it. "Of all the bloody cities why New York?... This place is to damn big for my tastes.." he continued scoping the area, he took out his lucky coin and flipped it.. but before he could catch it, it fell downwards towards the earth "Damn it!" he exclaimed before shooting downwards at 150 mph, the wind pressing hard against his face, when he finally got the coin it was almost to late, he stopped just inches above the ground. He landed and looked around, then he finally spotted the building, he ran in at 100 mph and stood by the door watching the two people fight. Nameless was fighting some girl.. not a human defiantly but hell maybe it was a new recruit. Shadow stood there leaning on the side of the wall "Sheesh Nameless go easy on the gal would ya?" Shadow yelled from afar, loud enough for them both to hear. He had his sly, witty smile on and was looking back between the two. waiting for a response from one of them.

Her tail wrapped around his leg and pulled it forward to throw him off balance though instead he used the momentum to perform a triple axle type maneuver to spin in the reverse motion of how her tail wrapped around him both releasing himself from her grasp and landing gracefully on his feet. As she scrambled to her feet and she threw he barrage of punches he would sway his head from one side to the next as her punches whizzed by him. "You attack boldly to hasten victory. Counter to proper training." he would teap kick her leg as she was focused on punches(As she leans into a punch his foot would straight kick her right knee forcing it back). Whether successful or not one of her punches(her left fist) would be trapped as it extended or rather an attempt was made. By his right fist and a forceful elbow would be forced into the opening overwhelming her remaining half guard if there was any. "The lesson in this is show no mercy no matter who your opponent. Lose ends will grow stronger, wiser, and they will come back for you. End your battles with annihilation or a controlled resource or you shall regret it." He said it aloud so Shadow could hear as well as a response to his concerns.

Mylia grimaced and her white orbs flared in rage at the ease in which Cain avoided her punches. She was giving her all here and he was treating her like this was a game! Cain's leg struck out and into her right knee cap, causing the leg to cock back. This single action threw her body forward, which enabled her left outstretched fist to be caught underneath Cain's arm. Her right side was dangerously expose for her right fist hand been drawn back to deliver another punch.

A sharp elbow was driven into her shoulder, her clavicle, chest. Mylia's knees buckled with each blow. Most would have cried uncle at this point, his blows only intensified her rage. The tattoos which decorated her appendages began to burn brightly. Cain's final strike would not reach if she could help it. Her raised right arm reached out to clamp around the man's wrist. As she would be reaching, her forward leg would be pushing her forward. Her head would tuck in an attempt to force her horns into an exposed area of Cain's.

Shadow shrugged, Nameless did have a point. Leaving anyone alive who was dangerous was.. well.. dangerous. Better to off them then and there then to wait until later when they are much more skilled, skilled enough to beat you. He looked over to the girl, turns out she wasn't human at all. She had horns and a tail strangely another demon like him perhaps. He walked closer in but still remained a good distance from them both, just incase the girl decided to attack him she did look pretty angry after all and she had tattoos that were glowing. He dropped his sword and picked up a wooden one, if he did have to fight it might be wise that he doesn't accidentely kill anyone right? He gave it a couple swings around in an elegant and graceful form before smiling at it. He returned to stare at the fight watching if anything interesting would happen. "Should i wait this one out or not?" he said.

He watches as she grabbed his wrist and he was startled be her strength.....was this some form of super strength? Though she had definitely not been this strong before nor as fast. He watched as she dipped her head in order to stab him with her horns yet he would raise his knee so when she moved forward the cap would be planted on the skull in the space between the horns so she could not proceed forward. "I see" would be said as tensed his muscles and she would feel Nameless grow stronger breaking her grip. He would attempt to toss her into the wall with the appendage he had trapped. "Shadow step in and give no mercy just no death or maiming" he stated. If all went well he would merely step off the mat.

Shadow walked forward and onto the mat. He threw off his own robe and was only wearing his pants and shoes now. swinging is sword about he stepped onto the mat and stared at the girl "A demon to eh?.. Well.. Allow me to introduce myself" he adopted a more combat ready pose, placing both hands on his wooden swords grip and bringing it up to his face while the blade.. or where the blade would be if it was a real sword, pointing towards her. He shifted his feet and he adopted a defensive style of combat, the uke-nagashi as the Japanese call it. "You may call me.. Shadow" With that he slowly stepped to the right, he was only 15 meters outwards from her waiting for her to strike. The calm before the storm they called it.. She did look kinda tough so best keep himself on guard at all times. He kept his eyes focused on her at all times waiting for her move.

Sharp horns did not meet yielding flesh as she had hoped. Instead, a strong knee had rose to the occasion and halted her charge. Still, the woman challenged the leg by trying to press forward. The one wrist Mylia had within her grasp broke free, and she was again without an advantage. Did she even have one to begin with?

Cain's body began to shift in its position to perform a swing. Her arm was still clamped beneath his strong ones had little choice but to conceded. Her legs crossed against one another in a desperate attempt to remain upright. Cain's destination brought Mylia crashing into the training room's wall and he loosened his hold on her left arm in doing so.

Her shoulder throbbed and Mylia rubbed it to ease the tension. The towering man had already found himself exiting the scene only to be replaced by another. She vaguely recalled a new person entering the training room, but was too preoccupied with the bare chested man to pay any mind.

Now this stranger stood before her in a defensive stance, weapon already drawn. He had the gall to introduce himself as if she cared about his existence. She did wonder if this swordsman was another one of Cain's minions. The man cautiously circled around her in hopes of anticipating her movements.

The woman was tired of expending precious energy and getting nowhere. She took confident strides toward the being, arms relaxed at her sides, but ready to counter whatever he threw. Her tail swished from side to side in a leisure manner, but it was her face which displayed her true intent: Flaring nostrils she looked at the man dangerously, like a predator stalking its prey.

Shadow still stood their in his ready stance, not a single move had been made.. yet. He slowly started walking to the right keeping his eyes fixed on her at all times. "Aww, come on? Not even a name back? No hello? No good day sir?.. Shame.. You should pick up some social skills, they come in handy in situations were fighting ain't exactly the greatest idea in the book you know?" he said with his signature witty smile. Truthfully he was probably gonna piss her off and provoke her into an attack. Hopefully that was the case in this situation. He continued slowly walking in circles around her, awaiting a response. "How bout dinner? A movie? Come on nothing?' he said with a slight chuckle. Still circling her. He moved slightly forwards closing the distance to 13 meters, again still circling around her. "I know a great little place around town, granted i accidently killed someone last time i was there.. but hey im sure they forgot who i am" he said once more. Still keeping his eyes fixed on her he would await her response.

He wasn't bothering on taking the initiative either. Instead, he was trying to avoid standing straight in front of her. Her eyes darted about the room, looking for something, anything that could...be... This whole room was filled with various types of weapons. Her eyes fell to the floor and spotted the staff. All Mylia had to do was obtain these weapons with little detection. Perhaps she could push the being closer to one of the walls so she'd have easier access to these weapons.

So, she continued her approach, being sure to adjust her direction when he slithered too far from her front view. She decided to make a dash toward him with fists raised. She would throw a series of punches his way, keeping in mind his potential for avoidance. She didn't need the fists to actually hit; just needed them to push him the direction she wanted.

Shadow watched as the girl ran towards him. He smiled at her "Gotcha..." he thought to himself, just before her blows could make contact he side-stepped to the right and led his sword downwards to strike her in the back, the blow from the wooden sword was aimed straight for her back. Sure it wasn't enough to do any real damage but one blow is better then no blows at all. He waited for his sword to make contact with her.. and was prepared to get the hell out of dodge if this angered her

Her eyes followed after the dancing swordsmen. He evaded her fists by stepping behind her. His sword then came down to strike her back. However, her tail snapped forward to wrap around the wooden sword. From that point, she would then use her left elbow to smash into the swordsman, followed by a punch with her right fist.

He saw a tail wrap around his sword, and then saw her coming for a counter attack, He smiled and in an instant, he disappeared and appeared five meters behind her, he quickly ran backwards and moved himself back into his ready stance. He stared at the girl and her tail then smiled "Cool trick friend. Makes me kinda jealous i didn't get one when i was born." He ocntinued to move around and around keeping his eyes on her, now he had to be aware of the tail as well. As he moved left and right, not giving ground he just looked at her and smiled. "Now will say something? Anything?" he asked her.

Her tail ended up gripping nothing but air, and her fists had little luck in their attack against him. A light hearted voice appeared behind her and she turned to face him. She scoffed at the man. He wanted her to say something? Then here it was:

"Why don't you bloody stay still?"

First Cain with his tactics and now this man with his teleporting ability. Mylia wasn't gong to get anywhere like this. She peered in Cain's direction,

"What am I to do?"

Nameless heard the woman's question and raised a hand to tell Shadow to stand down. "You are to grow stronger....if you cannot beat Shadow then how can you stand as my equal?" He would sigh looking down for a moment before looking back at her. "Until you can beat Shadow he will be your superior in the field and responsible for your training. When you can beat Shadow or at least think you can come to me again." he let out another sigh "You are of my body and souls do not disappoint me again....I expect greatness from you" with that said he would remove his presence from the room vanishing in the darkness.

Shadow watched as Nameless put the demon girl under his wing. A teaching position just like how he taught him, fun. He walked forwards and and off the mat to his Robe with the gold silk dragons running down it and put it back on. He drooped the wooden sword and picked up his real one. He slung over his back and into place and walked to the girl with a smile "A pleasure, now just as a quick note.. Lesson 1: Dun Möch, it will be your friend and ally, Anger your opponent, break him down, let him attack first. Make him doubt himself, his beliefs, or his intentions. Such things destroy his focus—and death soon follows" He walked forward and put his hand on her then walked away. He turned around and looked at her again with a much more serious face "So don't get mad you got paired with an annoying guy, im only annoying to force my opponents to strike first... Now for real this time, im gonna need a name from you please?' he said while staring straight at her.

Mylia peered at her feet with a troubled expression. Her stomach wretched with worry and guilt for she had disappointed him. The only way to remedy that was to become stronger, as he suggested. But could she truly become strong enough to be seen as an equal? Cain disappeared, which left her and the stranger alone. She returned her attention to the swordsman. So, Cain respected this person more than her? If Cain had more faith in him than her then she had no choice but to heed to him.

The man wandered over to his items to replaced false sword with a true one. Seemed he had no intention of using it so the sword was slung on his back. He smiled as he made his approach toward her. He also had a lesson in mind. Her brows raised at the realization. She had been unknowingly experiencing this lesson from their time together. However, now this man wanted to get serious and he needed her name for that.

She certainly wasn't going to give him her birth name. Her brows furrowed. What other names had she come across.

"Tutua."
