The Daily Bugle

Senator Hines has revealed how mutants will be handled: Sentinels.

A rumor traveled the circles of the supernatural. Mutants heard a safe, underground railroad was being started, inquire at the Summit. The beyond sought the strange power said to rest at the Summit of New York City. The gossip flitted amongst the rest: valuable information was to come to light when dawn broke over the Summit.

Project Lazarus [ Training] Empty
PostSubject: Project Lazarus [ Training]   Project Lazarus [ Training] EmptySat Sep 22, 2012 3:46 pm

It was the beginning of the first day in Shield, and Grimshaw didn't even wait to be told what to do, as he immediately went into the arsenal room, as he was a scientist, he was given access to their tech, and immediately got to work on a project he had been scheming up for quite some time. He didn't have any of the necessary materials, but he did have the blueprints, locked away safely in his mind, so that he could use them later. As he walked into the room, there were several sections, each with small signs, and all of them had rows upon rows of large storage devices. He would need some iron, some glass, a laser cutter, and an assortment of tools. First he would need to upgrade one of their computer systems, which was easy enough, simply because he already knew how to devise one of them, so that it could do what his brain did on a much more finite and detailed scale. As he did so, he would be seen carrying all of this random stuff back into his fairly small office. He shook his head, but knew he was a Jr Agent here, and that he would need to quickly show his skills to the leader of Shield, and of course the council, if he was going to get to play with the more advanced toys. He quickly set up his work area, and began the arduous task of cutting the sheet metal and the glass, making sure the measurements were exact, so that they would overlap a fraction of an inch. The next task was simply pressing the multiple layer of sheet metal together, punching holes where the wiring and sensors would go, before connecting it to the glass with a few layers of industrial strength sealant and adhesive. As that was complete, he had a large tin can that was see through on one side, which was progress, and as the people wandered in to say hello to the young scientist, he sort of brushed them off as they came in, asking what he was building, and why he was in such a hurry on his first day. Well, they didn't know that Grimshaw was a perfectionist, and a busy body. He hated sitting there being bored, and now that he had a large amount of government funded resources at his disposal, he wouldn't need to be bored. He would go around shaking hands later, for now, he wanted to jump right into his work. With the computer system and sensors all set up and connected to the device, all he needed was his special gel. It was fairly simple to make, and after mixing a special powder composed of plant material in with water, a centrifuge spun it around and around at incredibly high speeds for about an hour, but Grimshaw wasn't bored at that time, he was calibrating the machine for his own body type and such. He was going to be the first that stepped into the machine, as he loved to test his own inventions. As the centrifuge completed, a button was pressed and Grimshaw hopped into the machine, which quickly filled up with the goo, and then he fell asleep. When he woke up, the machine had finished, and he stepped out, the goo being vacuumed off of him. It seemed to have worked, and his genetic code was programmed into the machine. He would have to start working on the modules and such that would complete it. He then thought about producing more than one of these magical machines, just in case more than one person came in injured. He would also need to get the genetic code of everyone in the Shield office and head quarters, just so that he knew he would be able to accommodate everyone, if they were injured in the field. as he got to work on cutting additional steel and such, more people came in and saw the strange machine. He would end up painting them later on, maybe even branding his own insignia into the side of it or on the front, but regardless of what he was going to do later, he was far too enveloped in his work now. The only problem would be fitting more than simply one more machine into the room, and he would have to do a few SHIELD missions sooner or later, so that he would get another office, preferably a bigger office. He wanted to get his own lab area soon, but he knew that he would need to become a much better officer and scientist. This simply meant he would need to take on new responsibilities and make sure that he actually went out and did field work every once in a while. As he pressed the sheet metal, and got all the required components for another machine, he walked them back to his office. His office was fairly small, so getting the second set of items and components into the room, while avoiding bumping into and cracking the previous one was a bit difficult, but Grimshaw kept himself in a good enough condition to do so for the most part. the sheet metal was thin enough to where it wasn't extremely heavy, but it was still a great bother to lift by himself. He set up the other machine, much like he did the first, and another trip in a centrifuge and a tank wheeled in by an electric wheel barrow or dolly, whatever it was called, was needed to set up another chamber of the liquid goop that would actually heal and restore the people inside the tank. He made sure this time to set up a filtration system, to separate the blood or dirt from the goop, after the subject was finished getting restored. As he finished the machine, he stepped into it, making sure everything worked. As he got out, he also opened up the computer panels, making sure that they were sharing the collected data. This would allow him to not have to put the people into both machines. As he finished, he wiped the small amount of sweat from his brow, and then looked on as more and more people were looking into his door periodically, seeing what he was up to. He was one of the ruthless inventors, once he started something, there was no stopping him until it was done. It was the same with regular ideas or concepts, all goals would be conquered, and eventually he would become stronger.

Project Lazarus [ Training] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Project Lazarus [ Training]   Project Lazarus [ Training] EmptySat Sep 22, 2012 6:30 pm

After the machines were built, it was fairly simply for the young mastermind to develop several different microchips for the various different races of super beings. The most prominent would be that of the mutant, and because the Shield base was well equipped, it wouldn't take long to wire up some microchips for the Lazarus computer system. He would be able to make in depth scans of the people in the Lazarus chamber, and be sure that they were who they said they were. It would also be a good counter to spies, as the pit would be able to tell if they were human or not, unless the super was extremely adept at changing their shape, as changing down to the dna would be amazing, and of course, Grimshaw would want to study them as well. He wanted to increase his knowlede to the point where he would be the unrivaled master of genetics. for now, however, he was in the point of his life and career where he simply needed to study as many super beings as he possibly could, in a short amount of time. The more he could study and the sooner he could do it, the faster his pool of knowledge would increase. He went to the chip printing station that was set up, and quickly mapped out a fairly large set, as he would need multiples sooner or later. As he did so, he then walked over to his table, and got a microscope ready. He would get to work on the actual chips and components that would be soldered on to the actual chip. He would make sure to work fairly fast. It was getting fairly late, but he didn't care, and would probably work throughout the entire night. As he got the tin, copper, and other various raw materials into the stamping machine, he would assemble the actual components. He didn't need any of the soldering equipment yet, but the minute detail that it took was mentally exhausting. A few times, Grimshaw had to throw out some of the components and make them from scrap, simply because he was human, and therefor, not perfect when it came to detailed work. He was usually good with his hands, but he had to work under a microscope, so of course there was bound to be a mistake or two. He was about complete with all of the individual parts for one of the chips, when suddenly, he heard the machine ding and flash, notifying him that the actual plates were complete, and all that was left was to solder the pieces onto the plate, and then make sure everything worked and didn't short before placing it into the machine. He finished, and then sent an electrical current through the device, making sure that nothing shorted and all the light signified it was working properly. After that, it was fairly simple to install it into the computer. The bad part was using the chip and making a program for it. He would need an actual mutan to run some tests, but for now it was relatively complete. Grimshaw then decided to take a break, and then walked down into the food type area of the Shield head quarters. As he did so, he found a group of other scientists, and sat down with them. "Do you mind if I sit here?" The others didn't, and then he sat there, talking about the various fields of study they did, and it was a bit strange, hearing other scientists talk about their fields. Something Grimshaw knew almost nothing about, other than the basics one would learn from high school and college, but other than that, other fields of science were new and strange to him, and that's why he enjoyed it so much. He loved the fact that there was an infinite number of things to learn in the world, and he wanted to somehow learn it all within his short lifespan. However, he knew it was basically impossible, but he wanted to break through those barriers and do the impossible. Something strange for a scientist to dream of, something so irrational, but it was something he strove for. As he finished his lunch, he bid a farewell to the other scientists, and then went back to his machines. The chips were still in a pile, except for the one that he had finished and installed into his computer. He would need to swiftly work on the second one, before actually crashing into his bed for the night. It seemed that he was definitely working overtime, and he chuckled at the idea of charging Shield overtime pay for something like this, before heading straight back into the thick of it, and start making the components again. Because the chips and modules were going to be so similar, it was fairly easy to repeat the process this time, and he made only a very few amount of mistakes, before finishing all the components. The soldering iron was cold by now, and so he would need to charge it up again to get it hot. As he did that, he decided to simply take a break to drink some water. He didn't enjoy coffee as much as a lot of others did around there, and he didn't need it to keep working on something through the night. Once the soldering iron was ready for use, he would take about an hour to solder all of the components on to the chip, and finally, the second one was finished. Installing it was again, fairly easy, but it was the programming that was difficult. He had never witnessed an other worlder, or alien, as it were, so he had to guess on the scan, and he would make tweaks and adjustments when he actually met one and got them into the machine. After that was finished, he decided to take a break, because he noticed that the sun was barely coming up over the horizon. Well, he didn't mean to work this much, and the exhaustion suddenly hit him, and he walked much like a zombie into his room, where he would find his bed, and slip into it. He lived on base now, which was convenient, especially since in the coming weeks, he might actually just crawl out of bed and go straight into his office, which was now turning into his workshop and lab. As he slipped into sleep, it seemed that he was going to get a nice batch of good dreams, and probably wake up at around noon.

Project Lazarus [ Training] Empty
PostSubject: Re: Project Lazarus [ Training]   Project Lazarus [ Training] EmptySun Sep 23, 2012 6:35 pm

Grimshaw woke up, fairly late in the morning, as it was almost noon, and the only thing that woke him up was the blaring sun light that accompanied that time of die, and it just so happened to shine at the perfect angle, right into his eyes. Well, this was a bit of an annoyance, as Grimshaw grudgingly opened his eyes, only to have them burn with the morning sun. A quick movement of his hand made a blind for the sun, and prevented it from getting into his eyes, but it still sucked. The long work of the previous night had left him fairly tired, but he dragged himself out of bed and right into the shower. As he took a shower, he tried to recall the events of the day before. He had convinced a super from another planet to go into a state of sleep, using his Lazarus Chamber, and the person even agreed to be studied while he was asleep. He wondered if the man would ever awake, and he also wondered if he was going to need to build another chamber for other people, since it seemed one of the two he had were currently being occupied by someone. After his shower, he got dressed in his usual lab coat and slacks, and then decided that he would go and get some coffee at the local shop, not in the actual head quarters. The head quarters didn't like to have very good coffee, nor did they have much variety. So, as he exited past all of the security terminals, he would be escorted, as they didn't like their Shield agents to go without someone protecting them. Well, wasn't that sweet of them? He simply walked in, and then decided to take a seat, while he looked towards the menu. As he looked over the menu, he decided to not get coffee, and instead he got a chocolate flavored drink instead, blended together with chocolate chips. It seemed like a drink for children, but he didn't care, and instead sipped it happily. As he did so, the waitress wished him a good day, and he wished it back, and generally he was very happy. As he did so, he walked out, and went back to the head quarters, in which he would begin working on the last three modules, which were going to complete his machine, so that he would be able to start completing his other machines and designs. He quickly got the components of the modules set up, and got the micro ships and other such things, especially quickly, because he already made the modules twice already. It was going to be another long night, especially because he never got any of the necessary sleep that he needed. Considering his mind was still amazingly active, he was fine with the less than exemplary sleep amount. As he looked through the components, and attached them to the chips with soldering iron, he was ready to prepare them, and then he would look through the door to his office, and see that a bunch of people were gone. There was apparently some sort of mission going on, and he wanted to know what it was, so he took a small break from installing the modules, and instead wanted to go see what was with all the people missing out of the base. As he walked the halls, there were still the various security forces and such that paraded the compound, looking for thieves and supers that wanted to destroy Shield, and soon, they would switch shifts with the other people that would be defending the base. Well, he walked to the front of the head quarters to see the woman at the front desk, and when he got there, he asked her what was going on. She said that there was a tip that a bunch of supers were attempting to rob a bank. Well, this was definitely exciting, but it seemed that it was a fasle alarm, considering he heard that on the radio. Grimshaw then decided to take a break, and then walked down into the food type area of the Shield head quarters. As he did so, he found a group of other scientists, and sat down with them. "Do you mind if I sit here?" However, he knew it was basically impossible, but he wanted to break through those barriers and do the impossible. Something strange for a scientist to dream of, something so irrational, but it was something he strove for. As he finished his lunch, he bid a farewell to the other scientists, and then went back to his machines. He really disliked coming up with the mile long codes and algorithms that would run through all of the dna for the individual races of supers that were going to be scanned for all of their genetic code. He disliked it, simply because he wasn't the computer whiz, and his typing could be faster, considering he didn't do a lot of typing, and of course he wasn't too fast, considering he wasn't any sort of athlete, but then again, he was more of a scientist. He knew, that with his mind, if he could have some sort of higher speed, he would be able to write these codes in very very little time. The more he worked on the coding, however, the more and more he would type, and the faster he would become it seemed. He was gaining a rather large amount of momentum when he was typing, and then suddenly, without warning, it seemed that he was done. The coding for the two programs were completely finished, and it seemed that he was finished for now. He had one more design that he was going to do, and it was extremely important for the rest of his research. As he thought about the module, he started drafting up to the blueprints for it, and then it was fairly simply to put it on the official blue print, which would definitely be functioning properly. As he finished writing it up, he started to go through the Shield stored to find the proper materials. What he really needed, was an energy condenser, and it seemed that he would need to build one for his purpose from scratch. Well, it was going to be a great bother, and definitely cause him to miss out on a lot more of his sleep this night as well. He was getting a bit of a reputation of being a sloth and an introvert, because all he did while he was on the base was sit in his office and work on his machines. What they didn't know, is that he had already extended his hand to multiple super beings, which allowed him to get all of his work done, and get multiple samples of genetic materials. He didn't really care what other people thought of him, simply his boss, as he was also submitting all of his actions, but not his findings, to the leaders of Shield. It seemed to be going quite well, as the energy condenser was fairly easy to make with a few industrial batteries and some parts from an unused centrifuge. After that, it was fairly simply to create some extra gel, that could hold genetic material's special properties, and he had already tested this stuff out, by making some drink that could increase your thinking ability, which is why he was fairly successful already in life, and why Shield had such an interest in him in the first place. The module was complete, and now all that was needed was to install it, run the program that would be the software for it, and then make sure everything worked, which was a bit more simple than it seemed on paper. As he opened up his machine, he started installing the module, using the proper screws and wires, as he would also need to connect it to the top of the computer so that it could condense the genetic code from the chamber into multiple vials for transport. So, with everything installed correctly, it was just a matter of plugging everything in, and making sure that it worked properly. He stepped into the not occupied Lazarus Chamber, and made sure to set up the auto pilot program up, and when he woke up and got out of the machine, he had to isolate the specific dna strands and such, that he wanted to condense, and of course he would need to isolate the mental portion, allowing the gel to increase thinking. He would need a test subject, but it definitely worked, after a few minutes. He took concoction to one of the guards, and asked him to drink some and then keep his watch, and it made him instantly aware of his surroundings, as his mind was moving a lot faster than usual, but it only lasted a few minutes before wearing off. It was still amazing though, that he could condense the essence of dna and energy, and this meant that he was definitely going to have to start producing some powerful machines.
