The Background

History:

The beginning

(Narrarator's voice slowly comes into play): This story begins on another world a world where lesser being's are ravaged by horrid vision's of beasts that lurk in the dark but really there is nothing there, where things go bump in the night only to know that their mind had been playing tricks on them, where sightings have been seen of odd creatures but when approached on that very same spot they are nowhere to be seen...And where Monsters, creatures of certain kind lurk in the dreams of the lesser beings, only to cripple them slowly from the inside out, it is here that paranoia takes the toll on beings worse than mostly anything else, where suffering and paranoia play hand in hand

For eon's the creatures that stalked the dreams of others tore open the sanity that was left in them until they could not sleep nomore, most were good and most were ancient but none so old as Hypnos who's named derrived from the God of dreams and slumber before his arrival he didn't have a name nor did anyone know of him not even the creatures that stalked the dreams as he did, legend holds that Hypnos stalked the dreams of the creatures who stalked the dreams of lesser beings and in truth they feared him as much as anything in their world it was said hypnos created the creatures that haunt the dreams of the lesser lifeforms, some say he was created out of the void and shadows, others say from the hateful dreams of everyone on the planet gathered up and created him long before there was anything else except for them, a long slender six legged creature with a silver mane along its elongated neck and a mask covering its face with six eyes as cold as hades itself gazing through the mask at things and an eerie smile that never seemed to go away

most say it was a horse that mixed with a man but no one had never really known just assumptions over legends, most however could agree that whatever it was it didn't just ravage the dreams over the creatures that followed its lineage it also came after the lesser beings as well, a merciless apex predator, when most fell asleep most would wake up, others however didn't when at the midst of night screams sounded most woke up to check what happened only to see the slithering and crawling of one said monstrosity sinking or slipping into the shadows not to be seen again one after another people did not wake up and eventually they stopped breathing it was obvious that Hypnos was killing people in their sleep and as time passed the lesser beings grew less and less as did the creatures that lurked as he did

During the last season of the triple moon, a special event said to happen every seven thousand years an event Hypnos and gazed upon from the dreams many many times he devled into the dream of one particular lesser being, the being had been dreaming of other life on other planets and wished for freedom from all of this strife on their planet to the luck of this being the triple moon aligned perfectly on the being and lit bright in the sky the dream itself had turned into a portal and thus he had ended up in a mirror like portal, on this side of the dream a being had been dreaming of other life but it was the people Hypnos usually hunted, Hypnos had been struck with curiosity never before had this happened to him and so he crawled from the dream of this being and turned to look at it its skin was a tanned color it had hair and teeth and took breaths as the others did

Hypnos had heard the word human beings and looked back to the sleeping human, his neck stretched all the way up to the otherside of the humans ear and a thousand whispers sounded before the main one came to be asking, "....Wwwwhat is this placeee..." An eerie whisper filled the room but the human did speak, "Earth" Hypnos turned and slowly sunk into the shadows, he crawled along the wall and arose in the middle of an alley way, a place he had seen had new york city on it, an odd looking place it was strange compared to his homeworld but there was nothing that could really be said or done Hypnos had to start over he had been stripped of most of his power but still retained his ability to enter and leave dreams

Discovering his newfound home, the populace of New york city was more than overwhelming his homeworld was like a dream in itself compared to this place but Hypnos was no fool he crawled shadow to shadow seeing odd beings and the normal ones, he ran from home to home clube to club watching things, some people had seen a three pairs of eyes descending from small to big staring from the shadows but when the people paniced and pointed they saw nothing, it seemed paranoia was already taking its effect and these humans were more fragile than alot of other things, at the top of building hypnos sat, ready to take this world by dream and show them the real meaning of a nightmare.
